Pheonix: chapter 1 Pheonix
by Bluemutantfreak
Prologue
Ok this story is based after Buffy series seven and during Angel season five and somewhere between X men 2 and 3 the movie. It is set in an alternate reality but every thing has stayed the same apart from one thing. Spike has a daughter named Pheonix but that’s all im going to say for now. I first wrote this when I was about twelve or thirteen and it wasn’t very good because I kept missing out details and getting my self-confused. So I decided to re write it and I hope it makes sense this time.
Pheonix
It had been three weeks since the destruction of Sunny dale and the death of my father. Those three weeks where the longest three weeks of my life. I thought that I had lost him. I thought that I had lost the one person like me, or should I say, that I thought I had lost the one vampire like me.
After the blast I wounded whether I should have gone over to Europe with Buffy Summers and the other slayers. For some reason though I had decided not to go. There had been this nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach that I had to stay. That staying put in America would do me some good. Plus I hated all the slayers asking me if I was ok 24-7 and to put it nicely, after a week it was getting rather annoying.
If you are wondering who I am, well, my name is Pheonix and I am a hundred and eighteen years old. I have the body of a fifteen going on sixteen year old and my name is spelt that way for a reason that cannot be told right now. My parents are, or should I say where, William the bloody, more recently know as Spike and the insane Druscilla.
I’m not really an average looking girl either, what with both my ears pierced all the way up and a silver lip ringer in the middle of my lip. My hair is auburn and nearly long enough to sit on and my eyes are probably my best feature. Enough about me though, let’s get on with the tale.
If you hadn’t have guessed already my parents where vampires. My father sacrificed his life to save the whole world and as for my mother, I didn’t know if she was around. To tell you the truth though, I really did not care. She was dead to me like my father.
So, after deciding to stay put in America I secretly made my way up to Los Angeles the city of Angels. This is because I desperately needed to go to the Wolfram and Hart lawyer firm company. Desperately had to get something out in the open and of my chest and now you are probably asking why?
Well, its no ordinary law firm, most of the clients where demons and of late, so was their top boss. In my opinion though the boss was responsible for the death of my father Spike. When the First evil was trying to take over the world it tried to release an army of super vampires. The only way to stop them was for a vampire with a soul to wear a sacred amulet and take them all out in a huge blast of sunlight.
And of course though the vampire Angel delivered the goods. Angel was the sire of my mother and about a hundred years ago he acquired a soul. Around seven years ago he went and fell in love with the current slayer, Buffy.
He came to tell Buffy that he was going to wear the amulet to rid Sunny dale of the uber vampires so that they could not destroy the world. Well of course Buffy did not want her precious Angel killed so Spike volunteered to wear it. My father being the dumbass that he was took the amulet. Personally I think it was to prove that he really did love Buffy or something like that.
So the day came when the whole world was going to be run over with the vampires and every one knew about the amulet apart from little old me. They had all been so secretive around me in those last couple of days. They probably knew that I would stop Spike from wearing it, which is true.
Willow preformed her spell to turn all the potential slayers all around the world into true slayers. Just so that they could have some hope of wiping out all of the uber vampires. To maybe have some chance o save the world from that terrible evil.
I wasn’t sure if we where winning or not but the whole of the underground layer started to shake. The new Sunny dale high school above us was crumbling down to its foundations. Slayers I knew, slayers I had live with where dead or dying around me. Orders where being hurled at them to head for the stairs but I was reluctant to move. We couldn’t leave them all there. W couldn’t let their bodies rest in a place where so many others before them had died. It was too late though. Reluctantly, I too turned to the stairs but as I did I saw my father standing in a giant ray of sunshine. I didn’t understand. He would burn up, what was he thinking.
In a sudden blaze, I went to grab Spike and pull him too safety but I felt some one hold me back. The head vampire slayer Buffy pushed me towards the stairs and as I looked on I could see why they had not told me about the amulet.
Tried desperately to stay where I was. To be with my father no matter what. Buffy though had other plans and literally picked me up and threw me towards the stairs. Before I knew what I was doing, I too was running towards the stolen yellow school bus with the other slayers.
The bus sped away and yet there was no sign of Buffy or Spike. With faith at the wheel we soared past the collapsing building and dodged the rubble in front of us. All around me I saw the look of relief on the other girls faces yet at the same time there where three of us not so happy.
As I looked around the bus I noticed that the ex vengeance demon, Anya was not on the bus. Xander, her boyfriend, had noticed this as well. To my right I saw the brunette Dawn looking hopelessly out of the back of the bus or her sister Buffy. I also looked with the glimmer of hope that both would get out safely. That what I feared worse would not come true. There came a pang in my heart as I saw in the distance a figure emerge from the school that had just fallen down.
The slayer ran to catch up with the bus but I had lost all hope. She had jumped up onto a low building which was a rather bad idea because it slowly started to collapse so Buffy had to jump up onto the next one. Then with the bright red axe grasped firmly in her dry hands she jumped up and onto the top of the bus.
As we skidded to a halt outside of Sunny dale, we saw the last of the hell mouth fall to the ground. The dust settled and now there laid a giant crater where once a progressive city once laid.
The remaining slayers and the Scooby gang pilled out of the bus in a blaze of glory but I remained where I was. He had gone. Even if he had gotten out of the high school, the sun would have killed Spike instantly. The sound round me disappeared and I heard nothing. I became cold and a shiver ran down my spine because I knew now what it all meant. It happened to fast to fast to take in at that time.
