Revelations: 1

by Spikes Queen

Dawn wandered around the cemetery without a care in the world.

“Lil Bit?” Came an English voice.

“I’m in trouble,” she muttered.

“What are you doing out?” Spike asked, coming over to her.

“I had to get out of the house Spike,” Dawn whimpered. “Everyone’s looking at me like I’m some kind of freak. You’d be no different.”

Spike frowned as she walked away. “That’s not true,” Spike said, halting her in her tracks. “I love you. Just like I love you’re mom and sister.”

“But I’m not real,” Dawn said, not looking at him, tears in her eyes.

Spike went over and stood in front of her. “You are to me,” he said, wiping her tears.

“I don’t wanna go home,” she said, looking up at him.

“Spike smiled. “I’ll let you stay out, if I go with you,” he said.

Dawn gave him a small smiled. “You wanna go to the bronze?” She asked, softly.

Dawn and Spike entered the bronze and Spike took Dawn to the dance floor.

Dawn was a little hesitant at first be soon she was moving her hips against his. Her back was up against his chest and his arms were around her waist innocently.

As the up beat song ended, Dawn turned in his arms as a slow song began. She slid her arms around his neck and he held her against him. “Thanks for staying with me,” she said.

Spike smiled against her temple. “You’re welcome,” he said.

By the time it was almost 10, Spike took Dawn home.

Buffy came out of the kitchen and looked relieved when she saw a sleeping Dawn in Spike’s arms. “Where did you find her?” She asked.

“Cemetery,” Spike said. “You want me to take her upstairs?”

“I suppose. Mom’s been really worried,” Buffy said, going upstairs.

Spike carefully laid the young girl in her bed and kissed her forehead softly.

Buffy raised an eyebrow at his tenderness. He smiled at her on his way and she couldn’t help herself. “Thank you.”

“No problem but you might wanna talk to her,” Spike said, looking at the young girl.

“Why?” Buffy asked, shutting the door.

“Buffy, people don’t sneak out unless something’s bothering them,” Spike said, matter-of-factly. “Dawn doesn’t want to be anywhere near you.”

Buffy glared at him. “How would you know?” She growled.

Spike raised an eyebrow. “Because I’ve taken the time to get to know her,” he said, going downstairs.

He smiled at Joyce when he entered the kitchen. “Hello, Joyce,” he said.

“Hi, Spike,” Joyce said, smiling back. “Thanks for bringing Dawn home.”

“Not a problem,” he said, sitting at the counter. “She’s safe with me.”

“I know that,” Joyce said, sitting next to him.

“I wish Buffy would feel the same,” Spike mumbled.

“Are you in love with my daughter?” Joyce asked.

“Is it that obvious?” Spike asked, looking up at her.

Joyce smiled. “Only a little,” she said. “She does trust you.”

Spike laughed softly. “I doubt it,” he said. “It’s late, and I hate to keep you up.”

Joyce smiled. “Goodnight Spike,” she said, going toward the stairs.

“Goodnight Joyce,” Spike said, before leaving.

Buffy came from the living room and crossed her arms. “I don’t like him hanging around here,” she said.

“Buffy, Dawn and I like him around,” Joyce said, tiredly. “Accept it.”

“Mom, he’s a vampire,’ Buffy protested.

“Who loves us,” Joyce said. “If you treated him with a little respect, maybe you wouldn’t be so miserable.”

“I’m not miserable,” Buffy said. “Spike’s just annoying.”

Joyce smiled and walked past her daughter. “And very good for you,” she said, going upstairs.

Buffy’s eyes widened. “No way,” she said.

The next night on patrol, Buffy went to Spike’s crypt. “Spike?”

Spike came up from the lower level and raised an eyebrow. “Buffy?”

Buffy sighed a little and went over to him. She looked up into his eyes and saw the affection displayed there. She leaned up and kissed him gently.

Spike didn’t respond for a minute but soon he was kissing her back.

Buffy pulled away after a minute and gazed up at him with shining eyes.

“What was that for?” Spike asked, softly.

“I was checking something,” Buffy said, with a smile. “You like me.”

Spike raised an eyebrow and moved away from her. “Um… Buffy,” he began.

Buffy moved closer to him and kissed him again. She slid her arms around his neck and
deepened their kiss.

Spike surrendered to her and slid his arms around her waist. He pushed her gently to the sarcophagus and laid her down.

Buffy kissed him passionately and cradled his body to hers. She could feel his need and desire for her and smiled inwardly.

Spike moaned and the logical part of his brain kicked in. He pulled away slightly and pushed himself up on to his arms. “Buffy?”

Buffy was panting slightly as she stroked his cheekbones. “Hm?”

“Why are we kissing?” Spike asked, not understanding why he stopped.

“Because my mom said something very interesting to me and I wanted to check it out. I just didn’t want to stop after that,” she said, shyly.

“But you treat me like crap,” Spike said.

Buffy’s face became filled with guilt and she dropped her hold on him. She gently pushed him off of her and got up. She swung her legs over the edge of the sarcophagus and bowed her head.

Spike sat up and he could smell the salt as tears welled in Buffy’s eyes. “Pet?”

“I should go,” Buffy said, as she stood up.
Spike grabbed her wrist gently. “Buffy, would you just talk to me?” He asked, not wanting to upset her.

“I cant,” Buffy whispered, not meeting his eyes.

Spike gently grasped her hands in his and made smoothing motions with his thumbs of them. “Yes you can. You can trust me,” he said.

Buffy raised her frightened eyes to his. “Promise cuz I’ll kill you if you tell anyone,” she said, trying to be intimidated.

“Yes, I promise,” Spike said, softly.

Buffy sniffled and squeezed his hands. “Dawn’s not my sister. Not really,” she whispered. She began to explain everything to him.

Spike pulled her into his arms as she sobbed. “It’ll be okay. We’ll handle it,” he whispered.

Buffy laid down and pulled Spike with her. “I’m so scared,” she whimpered.

Spike laid all of his weight on her carefully. “I’ll take care of you,” he whispered.

Buffy slid her arms around his shoulders. “Thank you,” she said.

Spike nuzzled her neck. “Lets get you home,” he said.

Buffy nodded and carefully the got up.

Spike held Buffy’s hand as they walk to her house.

Spike quietly entered her house and took her upstairs. He tucked her in bed and kissed her forehead. “Goodnight Pet,” he said.

“Stay,” she mumbled, looking at him.

Spike shrugged off his duster and toed off his boots before climbing in next to her. “Go to sleep Pet,” he said, spooning against her back.

Buffy shuddered and snuggled deeper into him. “Nite, Spike.”
