You're Alive: 3
by Spikes Queen
When Buffy woke in the morning, Spike was still sound asleep. She smiled and climbed out of bed to grab a quick shower before going downstairs.
The girls who didn’t train were up but the ones who did minus Ashley were still asleep.
“Morning Girls,” Buffy said.
“Buffy, is Spike alright?” Ashley asked.
“Yeah. Why?” Buffy asked, pouring herself a cup of coffee.
“Well doesn’t he usually patrol with us?”
“He was really tired after yesterday. He’s not used to sparring with me after training,” Buffy said.
“He looks familiar,” Ashley said.
“He killed two slayers. You’re watcher probably had him in his books,” Buffy said. “He doesn’t like to make friends.”
“Who doesn’t?” Spike asked, coming into the kitchen.
“No one,” Both girls answered.
“For you’re information,” Spike said, crossing his arms. “I never saw the point in making friends except with Dawn and Buffy.”
“Those don’t count,” Dawn said, softly from the doorway.
“Why?” Spike asked, looking at her.
“Because Buffy and I are your girls,” Dawn said, looking at him. “We’re different.”
“She’s right,” Buffy said. “Anyway, Sarah, Michelle, Nikki, Krystyn, Emma, and Krysta. You guys are up today so go downstairs. Kennedy, Ashley train with the others. Let the girls from yesterday sleep,” Buffy said, and saw the dejected look in Dawns eyes. “Dawnie, you wanna come down and train with us?”
Dawn’s eyes lit up and she went downstairs with Spike.
“Spike?” She asked, softly.
“Yeah?” Spike asked, looking at her.
“Can I spar with you? Buffy hasn’t trained with me in awhile,” Dawn said.
“Sure. Don’t worry about hurting me,” he said, taking a fighting stance.
Dawn took one as well and they began to circle each other.
Soon they began trading blows and Spike was impressed. She really wasn’t holding back but that’s what amazed him.
Buffy and the girls came down and Buffy was about to protest but decided against it.
Dawn focused on her fighting instead and finally she flipped him over. “I won,” she said, deadly.
Spike just laid on the floor. “That you did, Lil Bit. You’re just as bad as your sister,” he mumbled.
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Dawn said, sitting next to him.
“You should. You two are the only ones who can actually win against me,” he said, smiling at her. “But you’re dropping your shoulder.”
“I know. I don’t know how to fix it,” she said.
“I’ll help you fix it,” Spike said.
“Awesome,” she said. “Do you need help getting up?”
“No I just need to stay here until I can feel my bones,” he said. “You guys are killing me.”
“Girls,” Dawn corrected.
Buffy came over and crouched next to Spike. “I think there’s something wrong with you,” she said.
“What makes you think that?” Spike asked.
“You get tired too easily,” Buffy said. “Girls, go upstairs for a few minutes before we train.”
The potentials went upstairs without question.
Dawn peered over Spike. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Spike said.
“Dawn, why don’t you go upstairs,” Buffy said.
“But…” Dawn began.
“No buts. Please go upstairs,” Buffy said.
Dawn grumbled and went upstairs.
Once Spike heard the door close he groaned. “Oh god,” he said.
“Spike, what’s happening to you?” Buffy asked.
“I don’t know, Pet. But fix it. I cant live like this. I’ve never been like this before,” he whimpered.
Buffy ran her fingers over his face. “Lets get you upstairs so you can sleep,” she said, helping him up.
Spike swayed a little but Buffy steadied him.
Buffy helped Spike upstairs to her room where he immediately collapsed in her bed. He was asleep before she left the room.
