An Inevitability: Part Two
by WillowBBF
Time Frame: This story takes place right after "I Only Have Eyes For You" In fact, it is one day later. It doesn’t dwell much on what happened, just a passing reference. After that my story goes completely off cannon from the show. Well, there are a few similarities
Rating: PG (mild, mild, mild, language and mild violence)
Summary: Angel and Jenny team up in their soul-ish way and find a way for all to have a happy ending. Crappy summary I know but I don’t want to give anything away
Disclaimer: Joss Whedon, Fox, WB, and Mutant Enemy own Buffy and all of her world. I own none of these characters but was really bored so I borrowed them for a while. Don't sue! I am only 13 and have a grand total of $17. I also borrowed the name "An Inevitability" from a quote in a fan-fic written by the talented LadyRHood.
Thanks to Kelly, Katherine, Sally, Becca, and Rebecca for all the inspiration. If my story sucks i am sorry. This is my first attempted at writing anything so cut me some slack. Any and all feedback is appreciated but you don't have t if you don't want to, Okay, I am normally a fan of Buffy+Angel=yeah! But I thought I should start my writing career (if I get good feedback) with something semi-on canon If I get a little good feedback I will continue this story with a little Buffy/Angel romance. Be warned all of you who think Xander and Buffy should be together….I am the Official Keeper of the tape measurer to make sure Xander doesn't get within two feet of Buffy. Okay, I'm done, on to the story….

Ms. Calendar looked at the unconscious form of Willow and sighed. She wasn’t sure that Willow had heard all of her message but she had to take it on faith that she had heard enough. She glanced at the disk in Willow’s hand and sighed again then made her way to the library to see Giles and find her new partner. She floated through the doors and found Giles in an intense discussion with Buffy. Angel watched and listened over Buffy’s shoulder.
"Angel!" she called
Angel stood from his perch and walked, well, floated over to her.
"Did she see you? Could she hear you?" he asked doubt and worry clouded his eyes.
"Oh she saw me alright. Right before she fainted."
"Well, did she hear you?"
"I am pretty sure. I saw her glance at the disk before she fainted"
"Well, it’s a start"
Buffy and Giles’ conversion drew their attention back to the living.
"Giles, what are we going to do? I can’t watch Oz 24/7. Angelus will find a way to kill him no matter what I do. I guess it is yet another fall out from my love life." Pain clouded Buffy’s eyes before she hardened them, determined to do what she had to do….no matter how much it hurt. "I can’t let innocent people die. 2 were quite enough. What did Angel and Ms. Calendar do to deserve what I did to them"
"Buffy, it wasn’t your fault. You have to stop blaming yourself." Angel and Giles’ voices overlapped as they spoke at the same time although the Slayer heard only Giles’ voice. Angel stopped to hear what Giles said, wishing he could be there to kiss her, hold her, tell her it would be fine, and take her away from all this pain. But, even if his plan did work, he highly doubted that Buffy would let him do any of those things to her. She would hate him for all eternity for what his demon was doing to her now. Giles continued "No one holds you responsible or blames you. Why can’t you do the same?"
"Because I don’t deserve forgiveness for what I did. I was totally irrational" with that Buffy grabbed her coat and ran out of the room.
Angel stared after her, his eyes filled with tears. To see her in so much pain was almost enough to make him want to kill his body so he could cause her no more pain. But, he was too selfish. Ever since Jenny had broken away from heaven as he did…..they had been working on a plan to restore Angel’s soul. Then Angel would be at peace and Jenny, having made up her mistakes to Buffy and Giles, would be able to return to heaven and eternal life. He sighed and turned to find Angelus and Co.. Jenny followed him out the door with one glance back at Giles, his head in his hands.

Buffy walked down the corner thinking, hard. She knew she had to kill Angelus. If not, he would murder her friends….one by one. Then her mom and finally herself. The latter she didn’t mind so much, then she could be with the true Angel. And, although she had went on about how she was finally ready to Giles at Ms. Calendars grave she had lied, to herself and everyone else. She still held on to the past and the tiny shred of hope that Angel’s soul could be restored. After all, Giles had said that Jenny was "on to something" what or what for they didn’t know but it still held Buffy back. She couldn’t and wouldn’t harden her heart to Angelus. It was too difficult to see that he was evil and not the love of her life. When they had kissed in the music room, although inhabited by past spirits, she had felt like Angel had beaten through the demons control, if only for a moment. She shook her head as she peeked in the computer science room. She shrieked and dashed in the room, throwing herself down beside Willow’s motionless body.
Buffy felt herself begin to sob but stopped when she saw Willow breathing. She breathed a sigh of relief and gently shook Willow’s body until she came to.
"Wha-what happened?" asked Willow in a daze
"You tell me. I peeked in and here you were, taking a nap. You really scared me there Will."
"Sorry" said Willow offering a weak smile, which quickly disappeared when she remembered why she had fainter. "Buffy! I need to get to Giles!! NOW!!

"You saw who!?" Cordelia shrieked. Her day was not turning out to be one of her best. Ghosts, a vamp wanting to tear out her throat….oh NO!! This meant more stains.
"It was Ms. Calendar, I swear," said Willow, her eyes begging for someone to believe her.
"Considering we reside on the supernatural’s fav party town, I’m gonna have to believe you on this one" said Xander, his arm around Cordelia.
thought Giles. Well, her ghost, but still…"Did she say anything when she appeared to you?"
"No, I don’t think so…wait! Yes she did. She said something about..um..oh…ahh. Oh yea!!" Willow cried triumphantly and dashed out of the room. Before the gang had time to process what had happened, Willow came through the door wildly waving what looked to be a disk. A yellow disk
