Hello, my name if Buffy Summers. 
All of you that post fanfiction on this site, think you  know me. Well, you don't. You know 
the fictitious TV show, that bares my name. You know the imaginary character, that 
bares my name. But not the real me. I'm nothing like that person. But I am a Vampire Slayer.

Note I said A slayer, and not THE slayer. You see contrary to the show, there is more than 
one. (I mean one girl, in all the word, against all evil. Give me a break.) And we're not all girls,
ether. In fact more often than not, it runs in familles. Sometimes not, but my family has 
always been slayers. And it's not easy growing up, in a family, of slayers. Wile most kids are
playing, I was learning fighting, weapons, and that the monsters, under my bed were real.

Not that my parents were bad, in fact they were the ideal parents, in many ways. They just
knew we were drawn to evil, and we (my brother, and I)  had to be prepared. Believe me, I 
wanted nothing to do, with it, as a kid. I wanted to be a singer. (though looking at the state of 
music, these days, I'm glad I'm not) But it wasn't my destiny. 

Then came the worse day, of my life. My mother, and father were killed, by a powerful family, of 
vampires, called Faust. (Descended from the famous Faust, that soul his soul, to the Devil. What 
you don't know that story? Never mind.) My brother, and I have managed to kill all, but one of the 
family. The only one left, is Morgan Faust. The daughter of The Original Faust. Yes, they can have 
children. In fact, there is more than one kind, of vampire. Like dogs, there are many species, with 
different powers. The Faust Family are among the most powerful. But I'm off topic. Sorry I tend to 
ramble.  

The point is back in 1990, I was in a small town, hunting Morgan. I never found her there, 
but I ran into some vampires. They had found them selves a meal, for the night. I young little 
geek,  that I managed to save. He seemed nice enough, but he was like a kid, meeting 
Santa Claus, when he learned what I was. I told him to forget it, and to go home. But he begged 
to know my name. So I told him, and he laughed. (OK I know it's a bad name. I mean I love 
you Mom, but what the hell?) Then I left him, thinking it was another night, on the job. 
I was wrong.

Turns out, the guys name was Joss Whedon. Two years later, I find my name, on a poster for 
a bad movie. I though it was kind of funny. But nothing could have prepared me for what came 
next. Buffy the series. I though it would just fail, like the movie. Not become an international
phenomenon. Books, comics, conventions, and of coarse fanfic, all because of this show. 
And to be honest, I see why you all like it so much. It is a well written, imaginative show. 
My only problem, is I was never asked if my name, or life could be used. 

OK yes, the character of Buffy is nothing like me, and the show is nothing like my real life (except 
the vampires) But that's not the point! If this punk had never met me, he'd be working at a video 
store, or something. So I think it's not asking to much, to see some of that money, and maybe 
some credit. But what can I do? It's not like I can sue him, without reviling myself to the world.

So That's the irony of my life. I risk my life, and go though hell, to make the world safer, wile he 
gets to be famous, because of me. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you like the show (to be honest, 
it's kind of grown on me) Just remember, I'm out there. 

Oh one more thing. I'm not, and never have been a cheerleader.
