To Keep Safe: Slayer with a Knot to Tie

by Quortoth

This is the rewrite of my first one. I felt that I didn't do very good on the first one, and I feel that this one is better. So enjoy. :-) [And unfortunatley, it's long.]

Regular Day at Angel Inc. Angel fell down on the sewer floor, screeching demons all around him. Angel flipped up onto his feet sword in hand and spun around and chopped the leg off the insect like creature. The creature being way larger than him too, when his leg was severed he spewed green slime.

Spewed was a small word for it, when that leg came off it was like someone threw several five gallon buckets on Angel of slime. Angel backed up into the wall behind him, that wasn’t as fun as it may sound. [:-P]

The demon fell dead. Demon; Na-Cliferal: Not very bright species, usually they travel in packs and stay up north in snowy unpopulated places. They migrate every 300 yrs. South to reproduce, often causing disturbances with other insect like demon species.

Kill them; slice extremities or give them large wounds, they will bust open and die. The Angel gang didn’t read that second part about the busting open.

Spike did though, that’s why he didn’t wear his coat. Didn’t tell anyone else to be prepared either. Spike jumped out of the way of one of the insect’s large legs he rolled on the floor and back up onto his feet sword in hand.

Conner ducked one blow, it then tried to get him at the legs and he jumped up and swung his sword around. He chopped the beast’s head off and the slime rained down on Conner as one came up behind him. Conner turned around getting covered in slime and sliced the demon into two pieces.

Emma wasn’t slimed yet, Angel knocked one down on it’s back, “EMMA, GET THE MOTHER, SHE’S GOING TO BLOW!!”

:After reproduction the demon will explode with enough force to kill a room of Elephants. Of course it can be stopped if it’s cut open like it’s children before that ever happens.

The demon was across the room from Emma. She ran towards it, then went down on her knees and slid across the floor and under the demon missing it’s large green legs. Then she cut open it’s belly, the slime came down on her but they didn’t have to worry about that. Just had to worry about the babies.

Spike was covered in slime already as he cut the last demon’s head off. Slime was all over. Emma slowly got out from mother and stood up walking towards Spike and Conner.

“That was eventful,” said Angel wiping the slime from his eyes.

“Now you got yourself some more Nancy boy hair gel,” smiled Spike.

Angel looked at him distastefully, “Spike,” said Angel, “Is this why you didn’t bring your jacket?”

“Maybe,” said Spike.

Emma spit at Spike, the slime in her mouth, “Thanks a lot.”

“Hey, don’t you spit at me,” said Spike, he had backed up from the large slime loogie.

Conner pushed his slimy hair out of his eyes. Angel looked at the slime on his sword, “I think it’s time we go back to the hotel, get a well earned shower or something.”

“At least it doesn’t burn,” Spike said wide eyed and bluntly.

February 24, 2005: Buffy was fighting a group of vamps in an Alley. Night of course, that’s her main working time. The group of vamps she was fighting wasn’t going to win. She kicked one in the head spun around with the opposite leg and kicked him again. One came at her from her left and punched her in the face, she went against the alley wall.

Two more vampires came down the way. She took out her stake quickly, stabbed one coming at her from in front, then ducked out of the way of another. Another went to punch her, she blocked the blow and kicked him in the stomach. Then staked him.

A man had joined into the battle, brown haired man, he seemed dark, mysterious. His hair was down to his jaw line, cut with bangs though. Flattering hair, like an English Gentleman, but without the suite. One turned towards him.

Quickly kicked that vamp in the stomach and shot a stake into it’s heart from his wrist band. One went to punch him, he ducked out of the way. Kicked the demon off it’s feet. As the man of mystery was getting back to his feet he staked that vamp and Buffy staked hers.

The two vamps of dust now ran into each other dusting themselves completely. The man just looked at her. She looked at him, “Human?”

“Slayer?” asked the man.

“You first,” said Buffy.

“You’re a Slayer no doubt, I’m a demon hunter, completely human,” he stated British accent to his voice.

“Human, and yes slayer,” said Buffy.

“Alexander Manis,” said the man putting his hand out for her to shake.

Buffy looked at it, “Buffy Summers, this town, you don’t just shake someone’s hand.”

“That could have something with all the fights I’m getting in,” he joked.

“Well, that Kentucky for you,” she stated seriously.

“Turns out, people here actually where shoes,” he smiled.

“Well it was nice to meet you, just don’t get yourself killed,” she answered passing him.

He turned towards her, “I never got your name Miss.”

“Buffy Summers, not like it’ll matter,” said Buffy.

Alex looked at her confused as she walked off. “Good job,” he complimented.

“Not bad yourself,” she stated, farther down the Alley.

He walked up behind her quickly, “You always fight alone?”

She stopped and looked at him, “Sometimes that’s just part of the job.”

“Other slayers,” said Alex, “Why fight alone.”

“Were you locked up in a cell or something, need socialization?”

“What if I said yes?” he joked.

“Well if you want that, I know a nice café, down the road,” she smiled.

“Alright,” smiled Alex.

--------------------------------------

February 25, 2005: “You left me,” said Alex, he walked up behind Buffy, “I went to that sodding coffee, shop, you weren’t there. You said you’d meet me.”

They were walking the cemetery of a place off Dixie Hwy. KY. She turned towards him, “I didn’t say I’d meet you.”

“What am I supposed incline?” asked Alex, “You told me if I wanted to socialize there was a nice café down the road. You said that you’d see me around, walked off, and I went there and waited for 3 hrs.”

“I suggested a place where you could socialize, a café. I didn’t say I’d come,” said Buffy, “I didn’t say anything about being there. You know, you could have found someone else to talk to.”

“I may not know you, but I think it’s rather unflattering for a woman of your stature to just, lead me on then not be candor about it,” he said plainly.

“A woman of my stature?” asked Buffy, “What stature is that?” She seemed to be acting amused by him.

He took a breath, “I pretty woman, who’s out in the middle of the night alone. So that must mean that you’re single, and I’m being a single man myself- And you’re 26-”

“What the heck does my age have to do with this?” asked Buffy, “How do you know?”

“Well, one I’m very good a tracking and observation is part of that job, and-”

“You’re saying I’m old, no, I’m as old as I feel,” said Buffy, “And not old.”

“Have no fear, I’m 31,” he sighed.

“So, you’re wickedly old, I don’t need to be hanging out with you and I have too many things on my mind,” stated Buffy.

“Really,” said Alex, “I’m also a human lie detector.”

“You have no idea who you’re messing with,” growled Buffy she turned from him a little disgusted walking from him.

“I just notice that I found a lonely woman, when I am lonely and I’m looking-”

“I will not have sex with you, I don’t want to be around you, and if you come near me or my family I’ll-” she was interrupted.

“Do something extremely vulgar, I understand that enough. I wasn’t going to say sex, we don’t know anything about each other hardly. Maybe we can go get some coffee,” he kept explaining himself, “Have a long talk. Then I call you in a day, or two, I take you to dinner, nice French Restaurant, I take you to the movies. We agree no action or chick flick, but maybe something date like. Then I’ll take you home, and I’ll call you the next day. And so on, till we reach a decision to if it gets that far, go out to dinner on the sort of third date, maybe for some fish to mix it up, something romantic. I’ll take you home after a nice conversation, meal and kiss you on the cheek then take off and-”

“You really have put some thought into this,” she smiled.

“I’m lonely enough to have that much time,” he replied calmly.

“Maybe Fish first, then the next time we go French,” she sighed.

Alex had a smile appear on his face, “That’s fine by me.”

March 8, 2005: Buffy was sitting in her apartment living room. Sitting at the table in the middle of the room waiting for Alex. She’d gone out with him 11 times by that time. She was waiting.

Buffy had something on her mind she had to tell him. Just had to tell him. It was that plain and simple. He couldn’t go without knowing. She had a folder on the glass top of the table too. It had something to do with the situation as well.

She was worried about what Alex would think after she told him the news, being that this was really important to her. And that he’d become part of her life.

Alex knew about her life, but for a few extras. And at the first date he had began with telling him about himself. What he’d pretty much said: “My name is Alexander Daniel Manis, I was born Dec. 3 1975 in London England. I was born to Dillion and Suzanne Manis with 4 older brothers, Andrew, Tony, Damien, and Colin Manis. My Father died when I was nine. When I’m not being the rogue demon hunter I am I work as an architect. 4 yrs. At UCLA as a foreign exchange student program thing. I love the color Red, my favorite food is fried Oysters, I smoked when I was 14 for a year but then my brothers beat the crap out of me and I haven’t touched a tobacco product since. I enjoy the summer, California is my favorite state. And my grandmother is crazy.” He paused, “Not clinically, actually uh, dad always said she just has a big imagination.”

Buffy sighed as she sat there, waiting for the knock. That’s what always happened when someone came to the door. There was a knock, that was what happened.

That knock came. She knew it was Alex automatically. She stood up slowly and went to the door and opened it for him. “Come in,” she smiled.

“Why did you want to invite me, you seem nervous,” he sighed.

“I kind of am,” she sighed looking down closing the door behind him, “Take a seat please,” she said.

Alex shook his head yes and sat down at the table. Buffy sat across from him, “What is it, are you dumping me, cause I can take it.”

“No, but you may want to dump me,” said Buffy.

“I have no idea why you’d ever think that Buffy,” he smiled.

“What’s our relationship turning into?” asked Buffy.

Alex just looked at her for a long moment. He didn’t say anything, then spoke: “I think I’m speaking of the big picture when I say, I think I love you.”

“Well, I think I got that idea, that’s why I wanted you to come here,” she said.

“Sure you’re not going to dump me?” asked Alex.

“I’m not,” said Buffy, “I think I’m loving you, that’s why I think you should know something about me.”

“Why wouldn’t you tell me whatever this is before now?” asked Alex.

“Cause I was afraid that it would ruin things,” she sighed.

“Tell me,” he said grabbing her hand sincerely across the table.

She pulled away and opened the folder she had. In there was newspaper clippings, pictures. Stuff like that, Buffy set them out, different little things. One was a warrant even. “I’m sorry if this isn’t the best way to tell you but I have to. And I don’t know how.”

He looked at the Birth Certificate, “Emma William Summers, born: May 20, 2004, 12:00 a.m.” He skimmed the thing, “You have a daughter.”

“Yes,” said Buffy, “February 12th, I found out that she was still alive. But different.”

“This warrant,” he looked up at her, “It’s for a teenager.”

Buffy closed her eyes tightly, memorized what it had said, “ Warrant out for a 14 to 18 year old Caucasian female. 5’9”, 119lbs. Light brown hair, blue eyes. She may be armed and dangerous and as well as unpredictable.” She opened her eyes slowly to him, “That’s Emma, these newspaper clippings, all of them. Killings. I don’t know why I keep them, I don’t know.”

Alex looked at a picture of Emma, drawn, look very much like her, then one from a security camera, “How?”

“I only wanted to keep her safe,” she was almost drawn to tears, completely, “Things were going on that I couldn’t control. I met a man named Timothy Reese, he was posing as a priest. I thought I could trust him, I gave my baby to him and he took her into a Hell dimension. Quortoth. She came out to her father, in L.A. a couple of months ago, 16yr. Old.”

“Who’s her father?” asked Alex.

“A vampire named Spike, which, it was so impossible, but the conception happened, he had a soul,” she had tears going to down her cheeks, “He’d died in the destruction of the hell mouth. 5 months later I was pregnant. It was different. I had her early really, early, and she was completely okay. She scared me to death though,” she whipped her cheeks breathing in. “Normal baby girl, but then things got weird. I had to take her to a demon doctor because she wouldn’t cry, she wouldn’t do any bodily function really. Move, look, never cry. Sleep, eat, never had to change her diaper or anything. She was so quiet,” she was drawn to tears, “She cried when someone lied I figured out, if I was in danger. Or if someone spoke bad about Spike, or if someone turned on the Price is Right. Turns out she was part demon, part vampire.”

“Something else is making you sad, she killed,” he said, sympathetic for Buffy, “Yes.”

“Of course,” she sobbed, “You see those clippings. Turns out,” she took in a quick breath, “Reese tortured her, to kill slayers. And she was doing it, and she was killing, then she wasn’t. I got there, I saw her. She hated me, I felt that. I was there, I was with Spike for the last time, she walked in on us, broke.”

Buffy was trembling, she had her hands in her lap not knowing what really to do with her hands, “She started killing slayers. And it was all my fault.”

“Buffy it’s not your fault,” he went to her side quickly, put his hand on her leg, “Not your fault at all sweet heart, not.”

“She tried to kill me, she tried to kill my closest friends, even killed one of them. Tortured them to death,” Alex put his arms around her.

“It’s alright, it’s alright, what happened?” he asked, trying to make her feel better, “I don’t want you sad,” he looked deeply into her large, wet eyes. Just wanting her better.

“Emma stopped killing though,” she looked away then back at him, “I still feel it was my fault.”

“It’s not, if she’s stopped that’s a good thing,” stated Alex.

“She almost killed me,” said Buffy.

Alex put his arms around her, “I’m right here, I won’t go away. Just trust in me, you don’t need to be sad, everything will get better.”

Buffy cried in his arms, trying to make herself stop, it was working slowly but surely. She clamped her arms around him lovingly.

--------------------------------------

[Now] Dawn was looking straight forward, “Can I kill it, can I you know, slay it, use a spell. Close my eyes real tight and, DIE Buffy?” said Dawn, she looked around to see Buffy.

Buffy was getting fitted into a wedding gown, Dawn was wearing the maid of honor dress. Buffy had the better dress of course.

Dawn was wearing a light purple dress that was actually kind of nice when someone looks at it enough. But not. The dress had a too feeling to it, the bottom was knee length, made of a veil like material. The top was corset like, with a low neck, and in the middle were three small bows and the sleeves.

The sleeves were poofy and purple, short sleeves made out of that same veil material. And the worse part were the purple gloves, no fingers, looked a little bit like something a hooker back during the old west would wear if she could afford that material. On the corset, it was purple silk of some kind.

Dawn adjusted her gloves that went up her forearm.

“Come on,” said Buffy, “I think they’re pretty.” Buffy’s dress to be was a corset, white with pearls in the front going down in the middle little ruffle around them, her dress was made of a fine silk.

There was a large pleats in the back in a way that made it beautiful. And she had a bow on the back made of silk. Her neck looked long and slender in the sleeveless gown.

“Are you like 7?” asked Dawn.

“I think they’re pretty too,” said Willow twirling around in hers.

“Well you’re gay,” said Dawn.

“Hey,” said Willow.

“Could this get any worse?” asked Dawn watching herself in the mirror turning around. “Buffy I thought you knew how it feels. We had some kind of bond, of the ugly dresses.”

“I do, that’s why we didn’t re use the ones from Anya’s big day,” said Buffy playing with her hair in the mirror, “Cause I know how you feel.”

“You’re not making Faith wear one of these,” said Dawn.

“Because she doesn’t want to take on the big job I’ve given you and Willow,” said Buffy.

“It’s not that big of a job, people have been getting married forever,” said Dawn.

“Well, I shouldn’t worry about this at all,” said Buffy, she ran her hands down to her waist, “Once Emma was born my body gradually went back to the way it was before-” She suddenly stopped talking.

“Buffy?” asked Dawn.

Buffy clapped her hand over her mouth and then ran out of the room. Dawn and Will watched her leave, “Buffy,” said Willow.

“I don’t think we can fix it,” sighed Dawn, “She’s not just going to stop caring about what happened.”

Willow looked down, “That’s true, you should of told her.”

“Willow, I will, I will, she’ll be angry with me,” sighed Dawn.

--------------------------------------

Buffy was in a dressing room. She had her hand clapped over her mouth, crying, heavy sobs. There was a knock on the dressing room.

“Buffy?” questioned Alex from the other side.

“Alex,” she looked up towards the door, “Don’t come in, don’t I’m wearing my dress.”

Alex had his head against the door, he was wearing a tux, he put his hands against the door talking to her, “I don’t normally say this but, bullock that, let me in,” he took a breath hearing her in there sobbing, trying to stop crying, “I hear you crying in there my sweet let me in.”

“The door’s unlocked,” sobbed Buffy, “You want to come in, come in.”

Alex opened the door, “I didn’t want to just come in, I’m a gentleman.”

Buffy looked at him, her face with tears going down it. Alex knelt down in front of her, “Why are you crying?”

“I thought,” Buffy took in a breath, “I was thinking-”

“Oh,” said Alex, “You don’t have to say it.” He kissed her forehead then put his hands on her shoulders, “I can’t keep you from crying. But you’re supposed to happy.”

“I can’t help it Alex, I can’t, I really can’t,” said Buffy.

“Don’t expect me to understand,” he said truthfully, “I can’t.”

“No matter what was going on, I still loved her. I loved her no matter what she was doing Alex. Angelus, killed her, as far I know,” she started sobbing again, Alex hugged her close to him. “I don’t think she’s alive anymore. My little girl is gone again.”

--------------------------------------

Emma stood in the Lobby alone. Clean, alone, juggling oranges. She had three going, she could do it pretty fast. She caught them, looked at them. Emma went towards the Lobby doors with the oranges in hand. Inhumanly she leapt up onto the wall around the fountain. She watched in the night all the cars pass below.

She was holding the oranges still. Emma watched the speeding cars. She firmly gripped one of the oranges, and said to herself, “What do you do when you’re bloody bored and have three useless oranges and a lot of cars?”

“Don’t you dare,” said Angel behind her.

Emma smiled, “Why?”

“You can throw a bullet like a gun what if someone gets hurt?” said Angel.

She scoffed and then jumped off the wall, “Always got to ruins someone’s parade.”

“Where’s Conner?” asked Angel.

“Shower, the gunk isn’t coming off him,” said Emma.

“Well, what are you doing out here, besides thinking of dive bombing cars with oranges,” he took the oranges out of her hands, “Huh?”

“What’s that supposed to mean, oh, ewe, I don’t shower with Conner,” said Emma, “Ewe.” Angel just looked at her weird, she replied to his facial expression, “Yeah ewe.”

“I just thought,” started Angel.

“You want me to throw an orange at you?” she asked quickly.

“No,” said Angel.

“Okay,” replied Emma.

She walked past him and into the Lobby and put the oranges down on the counter of the bar. Angel followed her in. She got on the counter and sat there eating an orange. Angel fixed himself a cup of coffee. Emma ate one of the oranges.

Conner was still up stairs, probably reading, he likes to read sometimes. His favorite book so far has been “War and Peace”. It’s found that when Conner reads this book some of the parts make him cry.

Of course Emma didn’t really care for the book much. She said it was good, but she feels it was mildly corny. And that General Kutuzov reminds her of Xander. Emma more fancies the books “Love Story”, and “Cujo”. She’ll never forget the ones that made her laugh though, “The Exorcist” and “Good Night Moon.”

Spike was no doubt sleeping. If he wasn’t sleeping would probably be out having a few playing some poker. Wesley went home.

Angel didn’t say anything, she didn’t saying anything. Just ate her orange. Emma finished her orange in the matter of moments, picked up the peel and threw it away behind the counter, actually just stuffing the peels in Angel’s pocket when he wasn’t looking.

A car was outside the hotel. It parked next to the side walk. Emma got off the bar, “Somebody’s here,” she said.

Angel put down his coffee cup and looked to the Lobby door, “Client probably.” Emma just shrugged her shoulders to that.

The Lobby door opened up. She had recognized the sound of the feet of the people coming. Only two of them. Females. Buffy and Dawn came through the front doors.

“What are you guys doin’ here?” asked Emma.

“Buffy?” questioned Angel.

Buffy was caught seriously off guard. She stopped walking in, just stood there. “Buffy,” said Dawn coming in behind her, seeing why she’d stopped. Dawn closed the door behind her.

Emma walked towards them, “I thought you guys were off in some other country.”

“We were,” sighed Dawn.

“Past tense,” stated Emma. Buffy ran to Emma and grabbed her into a hug. Emma was very surprised. “Whoa.”

Angel didn’t make a sound, softly said, finally, “You’re here.”

Emma didn’t reply with hugs, she didn’t stop Buffy either. Buffy kissed Emma on the forehead, “Oh my god Emma,” gasped Buffy. Tears going into her eyes.

“Something wrong?” asked Emma.

“You’re alive,” sobbed Buffy happily.

“Duh,” said Emma looking around like someone might see her getting wallard. “Dawn didn’t say I was alive?” asked Emma holding Buffy by the shoulders so she’d get off of her. Emma then looked from Buffy to Dawn.

“I was going to tell you Buffy,” said Dawn.

Buffy kind of ignored her, “Oh my god, you’re a live, right in front of me, my baby.”

“How about you calm down. Wesley keeps a bottle of chloroform,” stated Emma.

“You’re alive,” said Buffy.

“We’ve kind of figured that out, alright,” said Emma, “I wouldn’t mind it either if you stopped hugging me, no touchy, touchy.”

“I made you feel uncomfortable, I’m sorry,” stated Buffy.

“That’s fine, I guess,” said Emma. They all got quiet for a long moment, then Emma said, thinking about getting kissed on the forehead by her mother, “I think I’ve been fully disturbed today.”

“Um… you probably wonder why I’m here,” stated Buffy.

“Sure,” said Emma, very calm with Buffy being there.

“I’m getting married,” said Buffy.

“Huh?” questioned Angel, they ignored him.

“To a guy named Alex Manis,” said Emma quickly, “I knew you’d marry him sometime.”

“How do you know his name?” asked Buffy.

“Dreamt about it, alternate thing, nothing a couple of months outside of an ice coffin doesn’t fix,” said Emma.

“Ice Coffin?” asked Buffy.

“Angelus tortured me, put me in a coffin of ice for 3 months, I’m okay though now,” said Emma.

“Dawn?” asked Buffy, “You knew?”

“I did,” said Dawn, “I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you.”

“Buffy,” said Angel, “Come into my office and talk to me.”

Buffy looked over to Angel. “Okay,” she agreed.

“I’ll go get our bags,” said Dawn.

Buffy followed Angel into his office. “Are you kidding, are you really getting married?” questioned Angel closing the door behind him.

“Yes,” said Buffy, she cocked her head to the side, “You’re sad.”

“No,” he shook his head no, “No, I’m happy for you. I guess.”

“Come on Angel, I know you-”

“This is sudden to me,” stated Angel.

“Why did you want me to come in here?” asked Buffy, “My daughter is a live, is well from what I see.”

“You sure telling her you’re getting married is safe?” asked Angel.

“What?” questioned Buffy, “How’s that?”

“Well she loves Spike, what if she starts thinking that you’re trying to get her a new father, one she doesn’t know. Trying to get rid of Spike-”

“Angel,” laughed Buffy, “That’s the craziest idea, what the, no, she wouldn’t do that.”

“Emma’s mature Buffy, but she can also be very immature.”

“She’s not going to think that I’m replacing Spike,” coaxed Buffy.

“You kind of are,” said Angel.

Buffy just looked at him hard for a moment, then she spoke, “He’s a vampire.”

“So is Emma-”

“This isn’t about them. Angel I come in here with some of the best news and you don’t like it. You still love me,” said Buffy.

“What, of course, but I want you to get married, I want you to stay safe as well,” answered Angel, “I can’t explain these things. Alright, I just don’t think this is what Emma would want.”

“She hasn’t objected,” said Buffy.

“Maybe she doesn’t see it yet that you’re moving past her, and her father,” said Angel.

“No I’m not-”

“You’re going to marry a nice man close, or even your own age, have children, live the happily ever after,” stated Angel, “Emma’s part demon, Spike is a demon, it’s like they’re not a part of your life. And I myself can’t believe I’m explaining this, sticking up for them. What if Emma is feeling a little selfish and doesn’t want to be left behind.”

Buffy just looked at him.

--------------------------------------

Emma walked into her and Conner’s room. Conner was laying on the bed reading “Gone With the Wind.” On the night stand was “Great Expectations” and “Tristam Shandy”.

“Buffy and Dawn are here,” said Emma forcefully.

“Okay,” said Conner keeping to his reading.

“Are you listening to me?” demanded Emma folding her hands over her chest.

“Yes,” he stated keeping his head to the book.

Emma scoffed then went over to him and took the book and put it down on the nightstand, Conner sat up, “What?” His voice seemed a little outraged, but not in an angry way, more like an innocent kind of outrage.

“Buffy and Dawn are here,” said Emma, she emphasized on Dawn.

“So,” stated Conner, “I heard them come in, Buffy seems happy.”

“She getting married,” said Emma.

“So,” said Conner.

Emma cocked her head to the side, “Don’t you care?”

Conner looked down, “What’s it about to you, them being here?” he replied looking back up into her big blue eyes.

Emma thought about it, sat down on the side of the bed next to him, sat there like a man, and with her elbows on her knees. “It’s not Buffy,” she said quickly.

He rested his head on her shoulder, put his hands on her arms, “I told Dawn I didn’t like her feeling that way.”

“Conner, feelings just don’t go away. And I know she’s not a homosexual but when she looks at me she feels excited and suddenly afraid, she sees you when she looks at me, thinks of you.”

“I don’t love her though,” said Conner, “I’ve already threatened her.”

“I don’t like her lusting over you, in front of me,” said Emma, “Sucks when you can sense it.”

Conner shook his head ‘yes’ gently.

--------------------------------------

Buffy went into the room that Dawn had taken her luggage into. Buffy closed the door behind her, “Why didn’t you say anything?” demanded Buffy.

Dawn was surprised by Buffy’s presence. “I’m…I’m so sorry,” said Dawn.

“No, sorry, no excuses,” stated Buffy, “Dawn you never told me that my only child was a live.”

“I know, I was so going to tell you but I didn’t want to play with you feelings-”

“What do you call what’s going on now?” demanded Buffy.

“Buffy, Emma had been taken, then you found her again, then she tried to kill you. She got kidnapped, tortured by Angelus, pretended to go evil. All of that, I couldn’t just tell you,” explained Dawn, her voice pleading.

“You could,” growled Buffy going up to Dawn, “Emma’s a part of me, my baby, my only child. She’s part of my heart no matter what she does. You should have said something as soon as you found out.”

“I couldn’t,” said Dawn.

Buffy just, just smacked her. They were quiet, Dawn held her mouth. She was surprised that Buffy would do that. Buffy was angry. She’d never thought of herself being angry enough to hit Dawn before. “Oh, Dawnie.”

“I deserved that,” said Dawn, “I didn’t think you’d come to L.A. again.”

Buffy took a breath let herself calm down a bit. She kept talking, “Then what about when I told you that we were going to Angel’s.”

Dawn just looked at her, a bit horror stricken, then she replied, blinking repeatedly, “I don’t know, I just, something kept me form telling you.”

“I found out didn’t I?” asked Buffy.

Dawn was getting tearful, “I hated it when you were sad, you were, sad all the time-”

“But Dawn, if I’d known that Emma was alive I wouldn’t have been so sad,” said Buffy.

“It’s my fault, but it’s not, I just didn’t know what to do,” said Dawn.

“Be blunt, tell me every detail,” scolded Buffy, “Give me hope. Emma’s mines.”

“I know now,” said Dawn.

“You lied to me, I was on the edge Dawn. Did you see?”

“I saw, I know Buffy, you’ve suffered from all of this crap, but-”

“No buts, lets just forget about it, I have Emma now, and I could never stop loving you. You’re my sister. And I’m sorry for smacking you, I didn’t know what got into me.”

“Anger,” stated Dawn.

“I’m going to go wait to see if Alex calls from the air port,” said Buffy.

“Okay,” said Dawn in agreement. Tears went down her cheeks.

Buffy walked out of the room. Dawn just watched. The door slowly closed behind her. Dawn wiped her face.

Buffy walked down one of the halls of the Hyperion. Morning out. She heard Spike opening up his door behind her. He was leaning against the doorway. “I heard your bits.”

“What?” she asked turning towards him.

“Congratulations,” said Spike, “Happy for you.”

“Spike,” said Buffy nicely, going towards him, “You do know that I’ll always have a place in my heart for you.”

“Yeah luv,” replied Spike. “Why you asking such wonky questions.”

She took a breath, “Proving Angel wrong.”

“So he’s been talking to you, just ignore him. He’s been Mr. Saddy pants for awhile,” encouraged Spike.

“Are you really happy for me?” asked Buffy.

“Bloody Hell yes,” said Spike, “I hate to say it, but you wouldn’t be young forever.” He smiled at her.

“Hey,” she teased back, “I’m fine for my age.”

“Of course, I’ll think you’re beautiful even when you’re forehead is your new eyelids and your breast are down to your knees,” he smiled, making that face he makes when he smiles evilly and brings his jaws into his mouth. Sucks on them sort of.

“Really great,” said Buffy.

“I’m kind of excited to be able to get to meet the lucky groom,” laughed Spike.

“Well, just for your information Spike,” smiled Buffy, “He’s a rogue demon hunter.”

They had a moment of an inside joke between each other from Spike saying then, “So he picked you up at the pound,” he smiled.

“Spike, you’re a pig,” she said for old time’s sake.

--------------------------------------

Alex’s family was slowly but surely arriving. And there were boxes. So far Robin, Xander, Willow, Faith, Alex, his brothers had arrived. Faith was on the bar counter drinking a beer. Xander was joining her.

Buffy came down the stairs going up to Alex when she saw him and kissing him lovingly, nice a quick peck on the lips. “How was your flight?”

“Not all that long, but I still think we should of drove from Montana not flown,” stated Alex.

Spike came down the stairs, watching them, “You want to meet Spike?”

Alex looked to Spike, “Oh, there, that’s him?”

Buffy spoke, “Spike, this is Alex Manis, my fiancé.”

Spike did that jaw thing again walking towards Alex, standing in front of him, Spike laughed. “What’s so funny?” asked Alex.

“I’m a might bit taller than you,” laughed Spike.

Alex looked at him with harshness. “It’s okay honey,” said Alex, “You got the prize.”

Spike pat Alex’s shoulder walking past him, “If you want one of these days I can write down some hot sex tips.”

Alex watched him go past him then said to Buffy, “I don’t like him.”

“Not many people do,” said Buffy, “But he’s just being hard on you because he’s jealous.”

Alex smiled at her, “My mom will get here at 2, then at 4 the rest and-”

“I don’t want to think about guests,” said Buffy, her and Alex in their own world.

“Don’t make me throw up,” said Emma.

Buffy and Alex turned towards Emma from there love filled glances into each other’s eyes. “Oh, Alex, this is Emma, my daughter.”

“Hi,” said Alex nicely.

Emma got up close to him, “You know, when I’m in my boots I’m as tall as you?”

Alex’s smile went away. “Be nice Emma,” said Buffy.

“I hear good things about you Emma,” said Alex.

“Really, what heroic tales has mum told you?” asked Emma.

“She said that you’re good with fighting vamps,” said Alex, “Those kind of tales.”

“Anything else?” said Emma in a Spike manner, just trying to rub the whole Spike thing in his face. She didn’t dislike him, she just wanted to play with him. Tease him.

“You’re smart,” replied Alex.

“I take it from the slight smell of fear on you, faint, that she told you more than that,” said Emma, “Don’t worry though about it. Just making sure you know the whole tale.”

“I do, but I just look for the better in people,” said Alex.

Emma nodded her head calmly, “That’s best unless your in a battle.”

“In battle I can be vicious,” said Alex.

She about burst out laughing, “Okay then.” Emma walked by him.

“She doesn’t like me,” said Alex.

“I think you might grow on her,” smiled Buffy.

Emma went towards Angel’s office, said then under her breath, “Wanker.”

--------------------------------------

Dawn was helping with the luggage for the others. She didn’t mind helping at all. She passed Conner going down a hall. “Conner, can you do me a favor and help me with this?”

She had a large box in her arms, a really heavy one. Conner looked to her and was willing enough to be helpful. Grabbed a hold of the box for her. “Thanks,” she said handing it over.

Conner followed Dawn into the room she was taking the box. Conner put the box down, “Thank You,” she smiled, “I don’t have super strength and all.”

He looked at her firmly, catching that feeling from her. She felt feelings, he just smelled something. “I’m just saying,” she replied, “Thank You.”

Still looked at her firmly, “Stop that.”

“I’m sorry,” she said looking down, “I’m only human.”

“Don’t much care,” said Conner walking past her knocking her shoulder.

“Conner,” she said turning towards him, he looked back at her. Still, that firmness in his expression, scolding look, a little anger. “Conner,” she took a breath, “I’m sorry. I’m just here for Buffy. And I’ll leave you alone. And I’ll try what I can to hold back, these feelings inside me, but-”

“No but,” growled Conner, “Hold it back. Beat yourself over the head for all I care.”

“You don’t have to be mean,” said Dawn.

“I’m not human,” said Conner, “Only half, I don’t think like you. I only want Emma, I’m not like you, I don’t lust for anything that’ll stay still long enough,” he growled.

“I said I couldn’t help it, I said I was sorry. Don’t you think I’m trying to hold it back?” she questioned, her feelings hurt.

“Try harder,” he spat, “Cause I’ll brake your heart every time.”

--------------------------------------

Night Came. Alex was downstairs with his mom, his mother was like him, but very whiny. Shorter, longer hair pulled back in a bun, gray going through it, but still it was brown, “I don’t like this place.”

“You wouldn’t like the Ritz mum,” said Alex casually.

“I don’t like that man, all these men, two of them are ex-boyfriends of your woman. That other one, I think he’s gay,” she whined.

“Wesley’s not gay,” said Alex.

“No that other one, the young one,” said Alex’s mother, “Scrawny, hangs out with you’re future step daughter.”

“He’s not gay, mum,” stated Alex.

“Oh, You see, you see,” said his mother.

Angel came into the room, he put a file into the desk behind the bar. Spike came down the stairs drinking out of a flask. “I assure you most of the people here are straight.”

“Most, you mean that someone is gay?” asked the woman terrified.

“Hey, Angel we got anymore scotch?” asked Spike.

“No Spike, I don’t most of the time refill the liquor around here,” said Angel.

“Damn you, bloke,” said Spike throwing down his flask.

“Hey,” said the little woman, “There’s a woman in presence.”

“Oh, sorry Suzy, I’ve had my fair share of southern comfort tonight, though I do say, you’re looking beautiful, if only I was 150 yr. Younger,” smiled Spike.

“William, don’t worry you can sweet talk me anytime,” said the mother, she went to the stair, stood up taller, kissed Spike respectfully on the cheeks then pat him on the shoulders and went up to the stairs.

“You and my mum are starting to really become friends aren’t you?” asked Alex.

“She’s a nice woman, deserves better from you and your brothers if I may say,” said Spike plainly.

“You may not,” said Alex.

“Buffy making you drink now?” asked Alex.

“No, I drink all the time,” sneered Spike going towards Alex.

“Well, that’s good to know,” said Alex, “What’s that teaching Emma?”

“It’s none of your business what I teach Emma,” said Spike, he wasn’t getting a buzz, hasn’t had enough to drink to pull that off, but he was in a state of agitation, but liquor doesn’t have to cause agitation.

“Well, now that I’m going to be her step father I’d like to be at least a little included in her life,” said Alex, “And I don’t much think it’s fatherly of you to drink around her.”

“She knows better,” said Spike, “And she doesn’t tell me to stop or anything, so I think we’re on the good side of things.”

“What about cursing around her, do you curse around her?” asked Alex.

“Not much lately,” stated Spike.

“So you drink and curse around her,” said Alex in a way of scolding.

“Yeah,” smiled Spike, then he said sarcastically, “Sometimes I invite over my demon druggie friends, we play stripping games, torture each other, smoke, pop pills, drink, and invite women over for orgies, all while Emma’s sleeping, and sometimes we wake her up and make her video tape it.” Spike then said plainly, “Who do you think I am?”

Alex didn’t reply, Angel did, “I help too.”

“Oh and don’t forget Angel over there,” he slapped Alex on the shoulder then said, “He’s all part in it too, after 2 a.m. and a couple of whiskey shots we like to call him Kitty Cat.”

They looked at Alex, they didn’t reply for a moment, “I don’t think that’s funny at all.”

“Well I guess you don’t have a sense of humor then Princess,” said Spike, patting his shoulder firmly then went behind the counter with Angel.

“Maybe we should help him out with that?” asked Angel.

Spike looked at Angel, “Why do you mean?”

“Alex, Spike, lets go out and get ourselves a good drink,” said Angel, “Anywhere you want.”

“Really,” said Alex.

“Of course,” said Angel, “Just get your coat and we’ll go out for a good time.”

“I’m really liking that idea,” said Spike.

“I wouldn’t be a good role model for Emma if I went out and got drunk,” said Alex, “See I care about being a good influence to her.”

“Oh buggar that,” sneered Spike, “Emma is a good girl. Smart, you don’t even have half the mind she does and she’s been homicidal before. It doesn’t bloody matter about role models, it matter if she has someone that she can talk to, have love her, which I do just fine.”

“You really want to show me a good time?” questioned Alex, firmly, “Fine, show me one.”

--------------------------------------

Xander was in his room Talking with Willow. “So we’ve got everything?” asked Xander.

“Yes,” replied Willow sitting on the bed of the room as Xander went around the room, “Even your special eye patch.”

“Good,” said Xander sitting down on the bed finally, “I wondered if I’d left it.”

“Don’t worry about it Xander,” said Willow.

“The first one of us to get married,” said Xander, “Then I will, unless,” he looked to Willow.

“Xander I’m not dating anyone right now, I think you’ll be next,” said Willow.

“There’s the law too,” said Xander.

“I don’t fret,” said Willow.

“Do you think something bad is going to happen?” asked Xander, “Cause, when things like this tend to happen, bad things are just part of that large box of bad-y, things.”

“I don’t think we should worry,” said Xander.

“Giles said he’s coming,” replied Willow.

“Oh, I haven’t seen him in awhile,” said Xander.

“Do you think he knows about Emma?” asked Willow, “That Buffy said everything when she called him?”

“I don’t know,” sighed Xander, “But if she hasn’t, Emma will be someone to hear about, there will be the ‘good lords’, and the glasses cleaning.”

“Nothing like a little glasses cleaning to make the moment,” replied Willow.

“It’s just not a Giles visit till he’s cleaned his glasses,” said Xander.

“You’re so right my friend,” she said casually.

Xander stood, “I think I’ll head down and wait for him.”

“Why, afraid Giles won’t know where he is?” asked Willow standing up with him.

“No, It’s like I’m getting to wait for Santa Claus,” said Xander, “Except without the lovely drunk, none drunk, family fight in front of me about who’s going to get in the Santa Claus suite to surprise me.”

--------------------------------------

Buffy paced her room, she was going to head down to wait for Giles in a moment, “I hope he’s okay.” She was the only one in the room so she’d inevitably said that to herself of course. “I’m all grown up,” she sighed, “Yes, all grown up.”

--------------------------------------

Emma was drinking a can of Pepsi sitting on the counter. When Giles came into the Hotel, he was holding a suite case in hand and hadn’t change a bit. He walked in, put his suite case down and wiped his glasses off. Emma looked at him like he was a crazy, and Emma as of then was the only one in that room.

Giles put his glasses back on, “Angel Investigations?”

“Yup,” said Emma swaying her feet off the side of the counter, “Why Rupes, come here for a wedding?”

“Quite so, Rupes, why do you call me that?” asked Giles not having any immediate idea of who she was, “Name is Rupert Giles.”

“Touched a guy that knew you once,” she said plainly taking a drink of her Pepsi.

“I recognize you from somewhere,” said Giles, “You look like someone I know.”

“Buffy,” said Emma.

“Yes,” said Giles, it immediately hit him, “Emma?”

“The one and only,” said Emma normal about the situation.

“Where’s Buffy?” he asked suspiciously, “Has she any knowledge you’re here?”

“Yeah, I made an entrance to her alright,” said Emma, “She was surprised, didn’t expect it at all, stopped her in her tracks.”

Giles’ eyes opened wide, “What about the others.”

“Dawn knew that this would happen,” replied Emma.

“Do you know you’ve just cause a great deal of harm to the world?” asked Giles.

“Huh?” asked Emma, standing up. She went over towards him.

Giles backed up, “Back away, I warn you, I’ve dealt in the dark arts. I may not be evil in it but I know enough to put you down girl.”

“What’s with the hostility, I didn’t do anything bad you buffoon,” stated Emma.

“You don’t think it’s bad but that’s how you were raised,” stated Giles, opening up his suitcase and pulling out a gourd with markings in it, started whispering weird things under his breath.

Emma just looked at him like he was crazy, “What the bloody hell are you doing?” Giles kept up the antics, Emma suddenly punched through the gourd and Giles dropped what he had left in his hand.

“Hey, back up,” said Giles, he smelled of fear to her.

“You’re afraid of me, what’s with that?” asked Emma.

Xander and Willow came down into the Lobby, “Hey, it’s Giles.”

“She hasn’t killed you?” demanded Giles as if he had heard that all libraries had just been burnt down and everything was going to be computer here on out.

“I haven’t killed anyone,” said Emma, “Thank You very much.”

“I guess whatever Buffy has told you, it’s hasn’t been enough,” said Willow, “Emma hasn’t killed in awhile, she’s safe.”

Giles looked down, he took a breath, “She broke my gourd.”

“Gourd,” laughed Emma having never heard that word before, “Gourd,” she repeated, suddenly the gourd started rebuilding itself.

“Good lord,” said Giles falling backwards onto the stairs below the entrance.

Emma looked at him like he was nuts again. Willow then spoke: “We’ve heard Giles say, ‘Good lord’ now we just need to see him clean his glasses.”

“Ooh,” said Emma, “I’ve seen him clean those glasses.”

“Well now,” smiled Willow, “Isn’t this a Giles visit?”

Willow hugged Giles out of nowhere. Xander then opened his arms to him and moved in, being the nice guy he was. Emma picked up the gourd and looked at it her head cocked to the side, “So if I like say something in Latin or something this thing will do something?”

“I wouldn’t suggest it,” said Giles, in the midst of his hug.

Emma held the gourd by the stem, “Incendo.” The gourd caught fire and Emma threw it down. Willow and Xander separated from the hug alert. Emma was screaming then she said, “Aquatio” The fire than turned to water and everything was OK.

She was shaking, then she had a sly smile appear on her face. Giles looked at her the way he’d look at Buffy.

--------------------------------------

The 12 shot of Whiskey went down well with Spike. “See, I’m a vampire, so I can essentially drink more than you,” slurred Spike.

“I’m still awake aren’t I?” slurred Alex downing another shot.

Angel sat at the bar between Alex and Spike. He looked at his glass seriously, he picked it up instead of filling it up he tossed it behind him and picked up the whole bottle and took a drink.

“You know you foreigners are stupid,” said Angel.

“You are foreign,” said Spike blinking repeatedly, they had had more than just shots to make them drunk.

Alex couldn’t sit right, his sitting was bad, “I don’t want to be here anymore.”

“Fine, lets go somewhere nice,” said Angel standing up, “Cause, why?”

“I don’t like it here,” said Alex.

“Works for me,” said Angel.

Alex, Angel and Spike helped each other get to the car in the night. They closed the doors on Angel’s car and Alex leaned back in the passenger seat and Spike fell down backwards into the back. Angel stared at the steering wheel, “I think I’m too drunk to drive.”

“What’s makes you think that?” asked Spike laying on the leather seat in the back, not in the floor of the car anymore.

“I’m too drunk to remember where the keys go,” said Angel holding up the keys.

Spike grabbed the keys and threw them down the street. Angel just looked straight forward, “What was that, what if, what if-”

“What if we can’t find the keys?” asked Alex.

“Don’t worry, I’ll have Emma sniff them out later,” laughed Spike.

They all started laughing for some reason, “I’ll go get them in a moment,” laughed Angel, he looked as if he’d cry with laughter but it wasn’t that funny.

“Was this your plan?” slurred Alex.

“What plan?” asked Spike, “I don’t have a plan,” he looked down, “I have black pants.” He started laughing. Then he shook his head no, “Nope, no plan.”

“What plan?” asked Angel.

“Get me drunk, when you two are faking it,” said Alex closing his eyes tightly and opening them quickly trying to clear his vision.

“Well I guess you figured us out,” said Spike, he then busted out with laughter and stood up, the roof was off the car obviously, “I guess I’ll go get those keys,” so Spike tried to climb over the side but he fell down.

Angel looked over the side, “MAN OVER BOARD!!” Angel laughed.

Spike stood up wearily, he was fine, “I didn’t find them that way,” he said plainly. “I go get them, have no beer, I mean fear, yes, beer,” Spike put his hand on his temple, “Fear,” laughed Spike walking off.

“Man I’m drunk,” said Angel calmly grabbing a hold of the steering wheel like he was going to drive.

“Buffy is so beautiful,” sighed Alex.

Alex looked at him, “Yeah,” he said, “You picked yourself a wonderful woman, I love her to death.”

“She got this trick where, when we’re-” he was stopped when the keys were thrown at him. Spike suddenly jumped into the back inhumanly.

“Lets get going,” smiled Spike.

“The keys are back there with you,” slurred Angel.

“Bullocks, How am I supposed to drive back here without the steering wheel?” demanded Spike.

“You know Spike,” said Alex, “You make me jealous.”

They all got real quiet. For a long moment, just saying nothing, doing nothing. Not even looking at each other.

Spike looked at him like he was crazy, “Well, I fit good in a dress better than most women like you,” laughed Spike.

Alex looked at him like he was nuts, “I’m jealous, that Emma’s not mines.”

“I don’t think you’re Emma’s type,” slurred Spike.

“Not that way,” growled Alex laying his head against the seat forcefully.

“What way?” asked Spike.

“You’re Emma’s dad,” belched Angel putting his head against the steering wheel, gripping it.

“I know it too,” said Spike. “She’s like her mum sometimes, I see it in her all the time, the face, she’s like me but she’s like Buffy.” Spike laid back on the seat, laid down on it, “I’m kind of jealous of you, Princess, Alex.”

“Who’s Princess?” asked Angel.

“Alex, I’m jealous,” said Spike.

“Why?” questioned Alex.

“You get Buffy, beautiful Buffy,” groaned Spike putting his arm over his head, “Marry her, and have many children with her. Like, when you’re an old man, you’ll have little black grandchildren on your lap.”

“Black?” asked Angel laughing, he put his head on the horn on accident and pulled back quickly from the noise.

“You’ll have a happily ever after,” sighed Spike, “Something, I’m immortal, Emma’s immortal, you two, Buffy and Alex, you’re human. Long happy wrinkly life with all the little kiddies.”

“Yeah,” said Angel, “Spike is right, you have everything we’ve ever wanted.”

Alex sat his head up looking at them, “That’s nice of you to say.”

“I’m that screwed up,” said Spike shaking his finger at him.

“But, we screwed up as mortals, so, now we’ve got to pay for it, watch our loves live and die,” sighed Angel.

“Live and dying,” sighed Spike, “Harder, when we like the same girl.”

“Yeah,” said Alex, “But she’s mine. I’m goanna love the hair off of her, no matter what happens.”

“Lets walk back,” said Angel, “Alex is mortal we don’t need to screw him up.”

“Turns out walls are fatal, especially when you drive at them,” stated Spike innocently, standing up.

“Don’t fall down this time Spike,” replied Angel, “And lets get the top on, I think it’s raining.”

Spike and Alex looked up, like they were looking for where it was coming from. But it wasn’t raining at all.

--------------------------------------

Buffy was Talking with Giles. “I’ve never gotten married, I’m so scared,” said Buffy, looking out of the window to the city of L.A.

“Don’t let your cold feet defy your brains, if you really love him, marry him,” said Giles sitting on her bed.

“I’m worried about the future, not the marriage,” said Buffy, “Honey moon is nothing, but a forever.”

“I can kidnap him and torture him till he confesses to me that he’ll never look at another woman, no, another human being except you and he’ll never let his love stop-” started Giles.

“No, you don’t have to go that far Giles,” smiled Buffy looking to him.

“I’m the closest person to a father, and I’ll treat him like the hated son in-law-”

“Giles, I don’t want you to hate him, I just hope that I never,” stated Buffy.

“Love is crazy,” said Giles, “But you’ve chosen well from what I hear, though, is there anything you’re not telling me?”

“What?” asked Buffy.

“Well, one you didn’t mention, Emma being around, not killing. I did know already that she had tried to kill you and that she didn’t achieve that-”

Buffy interrupted again, “Giles, Emma is just fine,” she sat down on the bed next to him, “And I’m so amazingly sorry that I didn’t tell you all of it, but I have so much on my mind-”

“My turn to interrupt you,” stated Giles, “Just care about the fact, you’ll be married, think about nothing else, just the marriage. If that’ll make you feel any better, don’t think about what’s happening around you, just that you’ll be happy, let things flow Buffy.”

“Things are turning out great,” said Buffy, “I’m so happy you’ll be there to walk me down the isle, to be there, family, friends.”

“I wouldn’t have missed it for the world,” smiled Giles, “I’ve been your watcher, I’ve been your father. And I’m proud of you.”

“Thank You, those words are best gift you could have given me for my wedding,” said Buffy.

Giles stood up, “Well, I’m going to go to bed, got a little jet lag left in me.”

“Sleep well,” she sighed, “For me.”

“You sleep well too. Don’t stay up,” said Giles.

“I’ll take your advice Giles, only think about my wedding for the next couple of days,” said Buffy, “Thanks for that talk.”

--------------------------------------

When Buffy was purposed to: It was night, Buffy was wearing a nice little red dress and her hair curly as she sat down in a nice little restaurant. Alex pulled the seat out for her. Buffy sat down nicely. She smiled at him, “Why am I here?”

“Cause I love you,” smiled Alex sitting down across from her.

“I’ve heard that story,” said Buffy.

“Well I love you more than I did when I first said it,” answered Alex.

“You know this time around I should have pulled your chair out for you,” stated Buffy, “Give a little spice to our relationship. Or more.”

Alex leaned across the table and kissed her without catching fire from the candles. He kissed her for a long moment, Buffy smiled at him looking at the candles, “If you keep kissing me like that we will need a fire extinguisher.”

“Why, cause you’ll be hotter?” laughed Alex.

“That and you’ll be on fire, literally,” said Buffy.

“Oh,” he let a laugh escape him again, “Well I understand that.”

“So what’s with the whole, lovely night of a fine restaurant, Will I get to take something home when I’m done?” asked Buffy.

“If you can put me in a doggy bag,” stated Alex.

“I don’t think Dawn likes to eat people,” giggled Buffy.

“Oh, you meant really?” asked Alex.

“No, I was joking about the eating people thing,” said Buffy, “But hey, I always say don’t nock on something you haven’t tried.”

“We’ll order, eat, then, I’ll ask you a big question,” said Alex.

--------------------------------------

They had eaten, the night was relaxing a daze of love. “What about that big question?” asked Buffy as the waiter took away her plate, Buffy kind of knew what he was going to ask.

Alex then stood up, “Buffy stand up.” Alex called for the waiter as he stood up.

He went down on one knee and grabbed her hand, “Okay Buffy, this is hard for me to ask but, since your standing up all of a sudden.”

“Oh, really?” she teased.

“Shhh…” he said, “You’ll ruin this moment.”

Buffy looked at him wide eyed, “Buffy Summers, wait,” he stood up and grabbed something out of his pocket, a tape recorder, he put it on record and then sat it on the table, got back down on his knee, “Buffy Ann Summers, I Alex Daniel Manis would love it if in a gift form you gave me 14 grand.”

“14 grand?” asked Buffy as Alex stood up, she’d been expecting completely different question, “You did this, this, so you could ask me for 14 grand?”

“Yes or no,” she looked at the tape recorder, “Oh that,” he finished, “The tape recorder is for legal purposes.”

“I’m not giving you 14 grand,” said Buffy.

“Okay, so if you give me 14 grand you can have this,” said Alex smiling handing her a ring suddenly “Well, you don’t have to give me 14 grand, just give me your heart for the rest of eternity and you can keep that ring on your finger.”

Buffy was in awe, she finally had the ring in her hand, the beautiful ring. As soon at the large diamond touched her hand it hit her. The jewel in her palm, she knew the question, Buffy gripped it in her hand and hugged Alex tightly, “Oh, yes, yes, yes.”

“OK,” agreed Alex, “But that’s all on tape and you’ll have to marry me or I’ll sue.”

“Of course,” said Buffy completely the happiest woman in the entire restaurant, people around them were clapping.

--------------------------------------

Buffy went to the window in her room, looking out of it. There was a knock at the door after a little bit. Buffy turned towards her door, “Come in.”

Spike opened the door, “Hello Slayer,” smiled Spike, he was still drunk.

“Are you drunk?” asked Buffy.

“So is you’re pretty man bride,” laughed Spike, he closed the door behind him.

“Alex, I bet he’s nervous,” sighed Buffy looking down.

“Look to the future luv,” said Spike going towards her. He started laughing, “You’re glowing with happiness sweet, Buffy, pretty slayer.”

He walked towards her, “You know Spike,” she began, “I should take you back to your room, you’ll just fall down and drool on my floor.”

“Okay,” breathed Spike.

Buffy took Spike’s hand and walked him down the hall and too Spike’s room, she opened the door and as she was going in Spike walked into the wall of the hall, “Spike,” said Buffy she moved him, “Watch where you’re going.”

Spike rubbed his face, “That feels refreshing.” Buffy closed the door behind, she sat Spike on the bed, Spike threw his head back looking up at the ceiling, “Not good enough though to make this fuzzy, fuzzy, wuzzy, moment, go away.”

Buffy turned from Spike as he took his jacket off and she went towards the door, “Wait a moment luv.”

“What Spike?” she asked thoughtfully.

Spike dropped his jacket and walked towards her, “I could use some coffee, or something.”

She opened the door, “You could use some sleep, sleep it off Spike.”

Spike closed the door quickly and pushed his lips against hers and her against the door. Buffy didn’t pull herself away till after a moment. The moment a rush. He leaned back into her though, animal like. Buffy tried to push his face from hers as he kissed her passionately. Her right hand against his face.

Buffy tried to push him off but it didn’t work. And she wasn’t going to stop it either, gave up the rush. Spike ran his hands up her forearms and grabbed her wrists then slammed them against the door kissing her madly. He started kissing her throat and she moaned as he made it up the other side of her neck and to her lips.

Spike slid his hand down the curves of her body kissing her hard as she put her freed hand, left against his face, holding his jaw to her. He suddenly grabbed her around her legs and turned around abruptly throwing her to the bed.

He mounted her and kissed her chest, above her breast, kissed her bones, kissed her throat. She grabbed his shirt and ripped it open putting her hands against his chest aggressively as if to scratch his chest like a cat. Spike pulled his shirt off the rest of the way and ripped at hers leaning down and kissing her naval.

She kneed him in the chest and pulled him back up to her face for more kissing mouth wise. He kissed her French format as she tore at his pants, [she wore a skirt.] He ran his right hand up her leg placed it into the crease of her thy and kept kissing her wildly.

--------------------------------------

Xander was sitting in Angel’s office. He was spinning in Angel’s chair, everyone seemed to like to do that all the time. Emma saw him all alone, “Why are you so alone?”

“Just being my, inner bad boy,” said Xander.

“Bad boy?” laughed Emma, “Percy man.”

“I’m not a Percy man, I’m a man of strength,” he put his index finger up applying what he was saying, “I’m of intellect, I’m a man of many faces.”

“You’re a Percy boy and you know it,” said Emma, she tilted her head to the side looking at his eye patch, “Does it still hurt?”

“What?” asked Xander.

“The eye,” said Emma.

“There’s nothing under there now, black hole,” said Xander.

“Do you wish you had your eye?” asked Emma.

“Oh, I miss it bunches, but I’ve gotten used to putting my eye patch on in the morning, one eye at a time, you know. A way of life for me now,” said Xander. “Where’s the Angel man?”

“Out, with Alex, talking bits,” said Emma.

Xander stood up, “I’ve got some cash on me, I think I’m going to go find Faith.”

Emma looked at him weird, “What’s that mean?”

Xander turned towards her, “Me and Faith have a system, we- you’re too young to know about it.”

She didn’t care, Emma suddenly slammed her hand against where his eye patch was, Xander went wide eye. He fell to the ground. Emma took the eye patch off of him, then looked at his empty socket, an Eye had began to grow in there.

The eye came in white, then a pupil formed. Than that color part, the iris came in blue then turned brown. Xander had both eyes. He gasped, surprised, obviously. He was kind of afraid too on the inside.

“I,” Xander was trembling, “I…I can see you…I …both, eye, eyes.”

“Didn’t think I could do it, should of a long time ago,” said Emma, “No need to thank me. Though since I kind of just healed a hole new body part on to, you might want to get some sleep or, you’ll faint.”

“Thank you, oh my god,” Xander missed his eye, it was there, he blinked felt where it was, rubbed his eyes. Looked around.

Xander passed out on the floor, Emma cocked her head to the side, “You should of listened.”

--------------------------------------

Conner was in his old Room. Things were still the way they had been when Conner had ravaged the place as a wild half human, half wolf thing. He could care less about this room. In the darkness he just kind of looked at the old stuff.

Nothing much, things thrown down. No clothes, those were in Emma’s room, where he lived now. He’d be with her forever.

“What are you doing in here?” asked Dawn from the doorway.

“Being alone,” stated Conner, “Can’t be alone though with you around.”

“Sorry if I’m intruding then,” she sighed.

Dawn stepped into the room. Conner looked towards her, “What?” he asked.

“Conner,” she sighed, “I’m-”

Conner stepped back from her, “Stop that.”

“What?” asked Dawn.

“That, heat thing,” said Conner, “Stop, completely,” his voice turned into a growl.

“I can’t just stop it Conner, I can’t,” she shrugged her shoulders, “Feelings are feelings.”

“I love Emma,” said Conner.

“I never wished for you to stop, I don’t wish, I just wanted to talk,” said Dawn.

“I don’t want to be around you,” said Conner, a sudden feeling of vulnerability came upon him.

“I know you don’t, and I wish I could stop feeling the way I do, I tried, I tried and tried to feel different,” said Dawn, “I’ve dated so many other guys, but I can’t find one that I like as much as I like you.”

“Shut your throat,” growled Conner.

“I know you don’t want to hear it,” she sighed, deeply ashamed of herself.

Conner didn’t know what to think, Dawn had just walked up to him. Backed him into a wall almost. Dawn quickly went to kiss Conner, Conner pulled away with a sudden jerk, he backed up into the wall behind him. There was something wrong with him.

Normally Conner in a situation would be quick to hurl her down. To do something great, to warn her, maybe kill her. Dawn went closer to him, “Conner, I have to get this out of my system.”

Conner looked at her disgusted but he felt weak. Not physically weak, he felt a vulnerability, he didn’t understand, he was confused. He was hurt. He was angry, he was saddened deeply.

But most of all he didn’t feel any form of lust, a liking of passion, of anything like that. Dawn kissed his jaw and he moved his face from her like a child refusing to take his medicine from the spoon. She tried to kiss his lips, he moved from her and she hit his face with her warms lips, she fondled his chest.

Uncomfortable, scared, this wasn’t like him. Conner felt tears weld up in his eyes as Dawn grabbed his face and kissed his lips. He pulled from her every time not wanting to kiss her. Feel her presence, not wanting any of that.

Dawn pulled at his shirt collar, she ripped at the buttons. Something woke though, Conner suddenly grabbed her hands as she went towards his belt, he threw her down. Conner sprinted out of the room, his buttons from his shirt on the floor.

She looked around, fear rose in her, “Oh my god,” she cried to herself, she couldn’t believe herself. She started coughing like she was going to throw up, “Oh god, this, this isn’t me. Oh my god.”

--------------------------------------

Emma was sitting in her bedroom. Reading a book, “Tristam Shandy” . Suddenly the door came open of the room and Conner came in, Emma sensed something about him immediately. Sensed it, saw that his shirt was ripped open. Conner grabbed her by the shoulders looked her in the eyes. He had tears in his eyes.

She was blurred like a beautiful dream to him. Conner then pulled her to him, and held her tight. Kissed her head. Held her stroking the back of her head. Emma pushed against him, not too hard, in a firm way though, “Conner, what’s wrong.” She had dropped her book.

Conner looked her in the eyes. Just looked at them. “Conner, what’s wrong, you feel different, something happened,” she asked, she was saddened, concerned for him, “Tell me, what is it, your shirt?”

Conner’s lips trembled as his lips spoke, “Dawn…she, tried to kiss me, and touch me, and….I didn’t stop her at first, then I grabbed her and threw her down.” He had tears coming down his face, “I didn’t want to, I didn’t know what to do, I couldn’t feel right, I felt-”

Emma looked at him for a long time as he’d stopped talking, she just looked at him, she had a sad look on her face, “Vulnerability.”

“I wanted to stop her, but I…I…I.. Don’t, think I knew what….what…she was doing,” said Conner, “I didn’t want to kill her….I….I…..I love you.”

She put her hand on his heart under his shirt, she looked him straight in the eyes, without blinking. He still had her close to him by the shoulders. Emma kissed his chin, then sat him down slowly, she kissed his jaw. Finally she kissed his lips her arms firm on his shoulder, the other one warm against his chest on his heart.

“I don’t want her,” he sighed, “I don’t. I don’t understand, why, why couldn’t I hurt her?”

Emma cocked her head to the side, “It’s alright, don’t cry luv,” she wiped his cheeks, “You threw her down. Showed her.” She caressed his cheek then stood up quickly and walked out of the door slamming it behind her.

Walked down the hall with a purpose in her step.

--------------------------------------

Dawn was in One of the Bathrooms. She been throwing up, she couldn’t believe herself. She couldn’t, completely unreal, every part of this to her. This wasn’t like her. She had tears running down her cheeks. The light of the room was bright in her eyes, fuzzy looking. She stood up in front of the mirror. The door had been opened.

Emma walked in purposefully, Dawn turned to her quickly almost backing up into the bath tub. Emma looked at her disgusted, “Who the hell do you think you are?” Emma had wetness, sad, wet in her voice, like she’d cry, but she was too clear sounding to be sure she would.

“I’m so, so, so, so, I can’t say how sorry Emma, but I am,” she sobbed.

“I’m not merciful,” growled Emma, “What you did was stupid,” she hissed, “What do you think you are, who, you had-”

Dawn was scared to death, Emma never being known to handle an angry situation well without a death, or more than, ‘a’, “You had, no bloody rite.”

The smell of fear to Emma was intoxicating, enough for a group of vamps to be high. Dawn was so scared, “Don’t kill me, please, I…I…I’ll never do it, again, I won’t, never,” she sobbed, she pleaded, “I would never, that wasn’t like me.”

“So now, you’re claiming you were possessed?” asked Emma, her lips vicious with there speech.

“I wasn’t possessed,” stated Dawn, “This is so much my fault but I-”

Emma backed Dawn into the wall, her stance threatening, everything about her threatening. Dawn feared with every bit of her what Emma would do, “Please don’t hurt me, please, just I…, I….I’m so sorry. I was crazy for it, stupid, I was so entirely stupid, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, you’re my niece I love you and I would never hurt you.”

“You’ve been screwing up a lot lately Dawn, messing with feelings, you pitiful excuse for a person,” said Emma.

“I deserve that, I just want the feelings to stop,” said Dawn.

“They should, because the next time you try something like this, I won’t be merciful, I won’t,” said Emma. Emma suddenly grabbed her by the shoulders. Dawn flinched, the grip of Emma’s thin fingers not hurting but firm, “The idea shouldn’t even ever pop up into your skull. I’ve scared you so bad, it’s almost of form of enjoyment to stand here.” Emma’s eyes turned yellow, Dawn gasped from the sudden-ness.

“Please don’t hurt me,” sobbed Dawn.

“You will not show any sign of feelings for Conner, ever again, this happens again, you are lesser than dead,” growled Emma, “Okay.”

Dawn shook her head yes slowly. Emma let go of Dawn her eyes going back to normal. Dawn slid down the wall of the bathroom. Emma walked away and out of the bathroom.

The fear inside Dawn was there but now she could breath again. Dawn sighed wiping the tears from under her cheeks. Still felt like she should hold her breath, still. She let the breath ease slowly. “Never again,” she said to herself.

--------------------------------------

Morning came. Spike lay next to Buffy in his bed. Naked, sleeping the two of them. The door may have closed but it wasn’t locked. Alex slowly opened the door wondering wear Spike went if Spike knew where Buffy went.

He did. Alex saw Buffy laying next to Spike, “Buffy?” he questioned. He was sober, his heart, jumped off a cliff, fell to pieces.

Buffy had heard her name and quickly sat up, it hit her quickly, “Alex.”

Alex slammed the door shut. He was gone. Buffy looked down at the blanket, at the stirring Spike, “Oh, god,” breathed Buffy.

Spike sat up, “Alex?” he asked slowly looking at her face.

“He caught us,” cried Buffy, she did cry, her eyes were filled with tears, and those tears going down her cheeks.

Spike stood up and grabbed his pants, put them on, grabbed a shirt and put it on. He threw her clothes off the floor to her, “Go get him.”

“What?” asked Buffy, “I…I… cheated on him.”

“And you won’t do it anymore,” said Spike, “Alright, get your clothes, and go get him!”

Buffy just looked at Spike, “What, I can’t I just-”

“I put a spell on you, alright, that’s your story, and you’re going to go down there, tell him that and marry him and live a long life with many children and happy flowers, and maybe a pretty house in suburbs, just go,” ordered Spike.

“Spike-”

“Buffy go to him,” ordered Spike firmly.

“I can’t, I still love you, at least I think-” he interrupted her again.

“I liked last night Buffy, but you’re still not mines,” said Spike, “I’ll always remember what we’ve had, but your human, I’m a vamp, we can’t do this. And you’re not happy with me, you’re happy with Alex.”

“You do make me happy,” said Buffy.

“No I don’t, and you bloody know it, I’m a torture,” sneered Spike, “Now, go down there and tell him that I put a spell on you.”

“What if he hurts you, I know him, what if?” demanded Buffy.

“Then he hurts me, doesn’t matter, I want you to be happy, now get your clothes on and go to him,” stated Spike. She just looked at him, He opened his eyes wider, “Go!”

--------------------------------------

Alex walked down into the Lobby saddened. His family was through out the room, grandma, mom, dad, three brothers. Dawn was down there with Faith, “We’re leaving,” said Alex.

“What?” asked his mom, “Why’s my boy sad,” she went to him.

“I don’t need to talk about it, lets get our stuff and go, alright,” said Alex.

“Where’s Buffy?” asked Dawn.

“She’s with Spike,” growled Alex, “That foul vampire has-”

“You don’t have to explain,” said Angel coming into the lobby from the office.

Buffy ran down the stairs followed by Spike, “Why, I ought to-” said Alex’s mother to Spike.

“Alex, don’t go,” ordered Spike.

“You,” Alex growled to Spike, then looked to Buffy angrilly, “I thought you loved me.”

“I do,” sobbed Buffy.

“Some way to prove it, having sex with the thing!” yelled Alex pointing at Spike.

“I put a spell on her, alright, it wore off, everything is all good okay,” said Spike.

The brother’s stances were on the alert/hunt, [however.] Alex just looked at Spike disgustedly, “You cast a spell on her?” growled Alex.

“Yes,” said Spike, “A man gets lonely, and hey, I’ve read my fair share of the magic books. I thought I could get not so lonely. And, I love Buffy, but, I-”

“You filthy bastard,” growled Alex going towards him.

“I love Buffy, but not enough to keep her as my slave like the spell wanted,” this was all coming off the top of Spike’s head, “I don’t want her sad, I want her happy, no matter how much it makes me hurt to admit, you make her happy.”

Alex quickly punched Spike in the face, Spike looked up at Alex, his lip bloody, busted. Alex viciously grabbed Spike up by Spike’s shirt, “Is this true Buffy?” asked Alex, “Was he controlling you.”

Buffy looked at Spike, he didn’t look to her. It hurt her to answer that question, but, Spike wanted her to do it that bad, “I can’t remember what I did last night, Alex,” she bit her bottom lip, “I don’t know. I think.” Tears were pouring down her face.

One of Alex’s brothers was cracking his knuckles. Alex punched Spike in the face again, then again. The brothers went towards Spike, Alex grabbed Spike by the jaw and hit him again. The nearest brother held Spike’s left arm, Alex held his left.

“Stop this,” pleaded Buffy, “Just leave him alone, he‘s sorry!”

One of the brothers had a stake. [Then I started listening to heavy metal music :-P] Alex held out his right hand for the stake. “This is for playing with my wife’s mind, you filthy son of a bitch!”

Suddenly Emma ran and jumped off the second floor in the lobby and landed between two of the brothers, Alex and his other brother with Spike. Emma landed in a crouched position did a full back flip kicked two down. She landed jumped up and kicked one brother down so hard that the brother’s blood flew from his mouth and his jaw broke.

Emma grabbed him by the clothing quickly and tossed him in through the nearest window a great deal away. The brother lay in the window. One of them had stood up from being thrown down. Emma punched him in the face quickly elbowing him in the face viciously spinning around another brother coming at her and she punched him in the between the legs.

Grabbed him by the shirt and tossed into a wall with ease that was surprising for a light weight. Emma turned towards Alex all of this inhumanly quickly. Emma grabbed his free hand and brought it behind his back then grabbed the other one off Spike and kicked him in the back. He went down on his knees really hard.

She made his hands touch the opposite shoulders that they came from. Alex yelled with pain. She held his hands against his shoulders and pulled on them just a bit to get him to cry out again.

“Don’t kill him Emma,” demanded Buffy her mascara on the tops of her cheeks a bones from her tears.

Emma’s eyes had been yellow the whole time, “What’s wrong with you people?!!” Her voice with an echoing affect.

Alex’s brother that got it in the crotch was groaning painfully, and kind of loud as he had blood all over his pants from where he was hit. He saw the blood and started yelling.

Spike’s face with it’s blood on it, healed, Emma kept talking, “Why can’t you people just come here and do what you came to do!? Stop kissing other people’s loved ones, just be adults!!” she went down to Alex’s ear pulling on his arms a little and he winced with pain, “Don’t touch my dad, fine, he did something, Buffy wants, you, take that and marry her.”

She pulled away from his ear, “Marriage is starting to really prove itself out to be a bunch of cock and bull I tell you that, you people are supposed to be happy, learn to be.”

Emma let go of Alex suddenly, “I can’t feel my legs,” winced Alex, “My legs.”

“Cause I paralyzed you,” she sneered, “This is all pointless alright. I surely didn’t sign for it, and neither did any of you.” Emma saw Conner come down the stairs, she kept talking, “No one is going to die, no one is going to get mortally wounded anymore. Okay.”

“Emma,” Buffy looked down at Alex, “I love you Alex, I’m so sorry,” she looked back at Emma.

“Everyone stop being so bloody human,” stated Emma.

The one of Alex’s brother that was unconscious out the window suddenly flew back into the window and the window fixed itself. His wounds fixed themselves and he stayed unconscious. The one that had hit a wall healed, the wall that he’d dented with his own body fixed itself.

Everyone was healed, “She has a point,” said Angel.

Spike went towards Emma, “Thank you.”

“I’ll do it again,” said Emma her eyes reversing.

Buffy ran up the stairs Dawn followed her. Alex looked to Spike, “I-”

“Don’t want to see me again, too bad, I live here,” said Spike.

“And if you try to make him leave,” sneered Emma, her fangs visible behind her top lip as she spoke, “It won’t be pretty.”

“I understand,” sighed Alex, “I don’t need a reminder.”

His brothers were all, alright. Alex looked at them, he walked out of the room.

--------------------------------------

Dawn walked into Buffy’s room, “Buffy?” asked Dawn. The bathroom door was closed. Dawn went over to the door and talked to Buffy who was on the other side, “I can’t believe Spike would put a spell on you. Or, maybe I do. I know this is supposed to be a happy time, like when there’s a new flavor in pop tarts. Well that’s not really a happy time.”

She just put her ear to the door, listening for Buffy, “I know you’re sad, I know you still have feelings for Spike.” Dawn let out a slow sigh, “I don’t think Alex is mad at you anymore, you know. Just Spike. You know you’ll be married in a couple of days and you’ll have a happily ever after thing going on.”

She stood up and got a chair and sat it next to the door, “I feel like having a special, sister to sister moment.” Buffy didn’t answer, “Well uh, I’ve had my day too. I kind of kissed Conner, then had Emma come threaten me. You know, she’s really scary when she wants to be. I was stupid, and I know I shouldn’t trouble you and it’s being selfish, but I just kind of had to get that out of my system.”

Dawn looked at the door, “I hope you’re listening, you know how when I was younger you always wanted me to tell you everything, well I am. And why aren’t you answering?” asked Dawn, “Okay,” she then shook her head and said, “Since I’m telling you everything, those dresses suck.”

Buffy didn’t reply, Dawn got a little worried, “Buffy, those, dresses, suck,” she said plain and slow. No answer. Dawn then turned the handle, Buffy wasn’t in there, but the door fell off the hinges and the mirror had been ago broken.

--------------------------------------

Everyone was doing their own thing. Conner walked past Alex’s cousin from behind and the cousin smack Conner in the butt. Conner turned around quickly, the cousin then replied, “Hi.”

Conner just stepped away from the man and walked towards Emma. He quite disgusted by that man. Emma was listening to the grandma sitting on the counter, the grandma was sitting in a rocking chair, “Back in the day I was a very good fighter, I had the men coming from all over, but then I kicked their bums, I kicked them good, make a move against me, no way.”

“Okay,” said Emma calmly watching the fragile lady blink fast, talk quickly when she looked as old as dirt too. And well fragile.

“OK!!” she yelled, then she went back to her sweet little crazy voice, [I think of the grandma off the movie ‘Wedding Crashers,’ that’s what this one is like.] Grandma spoke: “Never let a man take possession of you, never, now a woman then-”

Emma looked at that women like the woman was nuts, but poor grandma was interrupted by Dawn, “Buffy’s missing, her room, the mirror is broken in the bathroom and the door fell off the hinges.”

“I didn’t do it,” said Emma immediately plainly, in a voice that sounded like she’d been hanging out with that grandma too long.

“What?” asked Spike standing up, he’d been sitting on the purple thing, Alex had been eying him evilly from across the room that entire time.

“Did you do something?” asked Alex towards Spike.

“Bullocks!” yelled Spike outraged, “I was here the whole bloody time taken the damned evil eye from you!”

“Doesn’t mean you haven’t done something,” said Alex, he looked to Dawn, “Dawn did they-”

“My dad didn’t do anything,” growled Emma, “I smell lies, he’s not lying.”

“As I was saying,” started Alex again, “Dawn, did they leave anything.”

“We have to find Buffy,” said Angel, stating the obvious.

“Did you hear them leave?” asked Faith towards Conner and Emma. [There was a lot of people down in that lobby.]

“No,” said Conner, Emma shook her head no.

“That means these people, things were bloody sneaky,” stated Spike.

“And can get around in the daytime,” said Faith, “And their quick.”

“Quick enough for us not to pick her, them up,” sighed Emma.

Everyone was up on their feet. Wesley felt a sudden rise of excitement. He was sitting behind the desk behind the counter, “I’ve got books, lots of books, we need to start investigating this immediately, I take you all can read.”

“Oh, not her,” said Emma, pointing to grandma, “She told me a long story about some demon witch doctor and reading and then yelled something racist.”

--------------------------------------

Buffy was in the Dark. She had a scratch on her forehead from fighting her captors, and she was tied to a chair as well. She was gagged too.

A demon in a bright yellow cloak stepped forward with a bowl of blood. He stuck his finger into the bowl and pulled it out and drew a line on Buffy’s forehead as Buffy struggled to get her arm loose. But that didn’t work.

The demons around the room were chanting. More of them in yellow. There was a hunched back demon in a yellow robe hanging over another one. The one he was over was limp in a chair, his skin was shedding from his face in a icky mess of yellow goop.

“Master,” said the one looking down at the demon, “We’ve picked a good one, not tat often, ther’ be women of slay to wed you. No, no, no ever.”

Sitting in a wedding dress next to the thin, fragile demon with the skin coming off was a dead body, but it was so dead it was just a skeleton, it looked burnt and there were cobwebs in the dirty wedding dress, blood on it too.

Buffy saw the dead supposed woman in that wedding dressed and bit down on the piece of cloth in her mouth.

--------------------------------------

Emma was Talking with Spike. “I know what you did,” said Emma. They stood in Spike’s room, Spike grabbing his jacket.

Spike looked at her, “I had to.”

“Lie, almost get yourself killed?” demanded Emma.

“Shhhh…” he breathed, “I cast a spell on Buffy, okay. Things are alright now.”

“No, now mum’s missing,” said Emma.

“Mum?” he questioned.

“I can call her mum,” stated Emma, “Now, back to the problem at hand.”

“I love your mother and I want her to live a long happy life, she doesn’t need me to live a long happy life. I know that, I don’t want to be left explaining myself,” stated Spike.

“Angel and Wes were in the room when Alex attacked you,” sighed Emma.

“What’s that supposed to mean, or do with it?” asked Spike.

“They didn’t help you,” said Emma, “You’re one of the gang now you know. You’re helping save the world, at least helping the world’s poor worried folk.”

“It doesn’t matter what those Pricks decided, help me or not, they might have known you’d come in,” said Spike.

“You could of died,” said Emma forcefully, “Died, dust, end of you.”

“I know that Emma,” said Spike.

“You didn’t care what I’d do if you were killed,” growled Emma.

“What would you have done?” asked Spike.

Emma looked down, “I would be more than pissed off,” she folded her arms over her chest, “I would of done great things, bad, great things.”

“I understand that,” said Spike.

“You didn’t at all care that I’d maybe kill someone,” said Emma.

“Em, it wasn’t on my mind at the time alright, I was just trying to help Buffy. Okay, we’ve spoken of this we don’t need to anymore,” coaxed Spike. “And, I can fight my own fights as well, feels odd if you protect me, I’m your dad, I should be protecting you if anything.”

“You would of died if it wasn’t for me,” growled Emma.

“And I’m happy you saved me alright, now lets get down stairs,” said Spike, “Find Buffy.”

“We’ll do that,” she said, “But I don’t want to ever loose you, you’re my dad, I can’t loose you.”

--------------------------------------

“Buffy was kidnapped by a group of Cornoxium Demons,” stated Wesley to the group.

“You’re completely sure Wes?” asked Faith.

“Quite sure, in fact 100% sure,” replied Wesley.

“Explain,” said Alex.

“Well, this demon clan’s leader only marries slayers. His minions capture a slayer that is to be wed soon and marries her. Now this hasn’t happened in over 400 yr. So he’s probably married to that last one, Helen.”

“She’s old,” stated Emma.

“Well it says even once the slayer bride is dead the leader will still stay married with her, till he finds himself another slayer that is going to get married,” said Wesley.

“That’s a let down,” said Spike.

Emma started laughing, “Nacrophiliac.” [I think that’s how it’s spelled, Nacrophiliac: someone who sleeps with dead people.]

“Lets find where these demons are so I can go rescue my wife,” growled Alex.

“I’m going,” said Spike.

“Not over my dead body,” growled Alex.

“Buffy’s in danger-” growled Spike.

“Spike, you stay here,” said Angel.

“You’re not my boss you-” began Spike.

“Dad, stay here,” said Emma.

“I’ll go,” said Faith, “We’ll take a small but strong party, the less people there the less to worry about.”

“I should go,” said Willow.

“These things are immune to most magic,” said Wesley.

“Then I can go,” said Dawn, “I’ve done some big spells, and I can fight.”

“Too weak,” said Faith.

“Hey,” said Dawn.

“Since I feel like this is automatic for me, I’ll head the team, Alex, Angel, The kid, Giles, and Spike Junior here will come.”

“I should go,” growled Spike.

“Sorry no deal Spike,” said Faith.

“I’m okay with Faith being leader,” said Alex.

“I’m okay with this idea,” replied Angel.

“Alright, Wesley, give us where when, whatever shit we’ll need to know, and go suite up, weapons, the whole etc,” said Faith.

“It’s Conner you know that,” growled Conner.

“Okay, whatever, get weapons,” said Faith.

“Ooh,” said Alex’s cousin to Dawn, “A man of authority, doesn’t like to be called what he isn’t.”

Dawn looked at the man odd, the said oddly and slowly, “Okay.”

“I need to go,” demanded Spike.

“You can’t go,” said Angel, “You don’t have much a of grounds on it.”

“At least, she’s the mother of my child, those are my grounds,” stated Spike.

“She’s Alex’s wife, they don’t need you Spike, they can do it on their own,” sighed Angel.

“Lets save Buffy,” replied Alex.

--------------------------------------

Buffy was grossed out all kinds. She was gagged and tied to the chair, but she was in a wedding dress covered in blood, sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the dead wife next to the limp king. The kind moaned.

“Don’t worry Master,” hissed the slumped walking minion, “We’ll get this ceremony going.”

One of the minions pulled down Buffy’s gag. Buffy was coughing, “I think I’m going to throw up.”

Everyone in the room started laughing. The leader’s skin bubbled with yellow goop as he laughed. Which by this time had been putting off an odd smell. Buffy was deeply sickened.

The large chamber had two front doors made of stone that could only be moved by the leader, so that’s why there were yellow hand prints on the doors from the goop. On the other side there was another story.

Conner and Emma were on the other side trying to push the doors open. Angel joined in. Emma’s, Conner’s eyes were yellow as they heave and pushed at the door, it didn’t budge. Emma and Conner pulled away falling on their butts.

“It won’t even brake,” said Conner standing up his eyes going back to normal.

“It’s closed by magic too,” said Emma, “Or we’d have this sodding door smashed.”

“I see that,” answered Giles.

“Emma, open it with telekinesis,” said Angel.

“Tele what?” demanded Conner.

“Move things with your mind?” asked Giles.

“She and probably Conner think on a different level than we do, like in the move Phenomenon, Wes said that John Travolta’s character had a higher amount of thinking so he could move things with his mind when he got angry or something,” answered Angel.

“Great way to say that we’re stupid,” said Faith.

“Sorry,” replied Angel, “Emma, Conner, do it.”

“Can’t just do it,” said Emma, “Got to be provoked or something like that.”

“Just do it,” demanded Alex.

“For your information I don’t get that angry all the time, only done that thing once,” said Emma, “Conner hasn’t done if before either.”

“Then think about something bad,” growled Alex.

“You’re really starting to get on my nerves,” growled Emma.

Conner looked at Emma then at Angel, he remembered what he knew and, Wes and Dawn knew. Suddenly Conner’s eyes went yellow and the doors flew open. And the ground shook a little, not much. Conner then gasped his eyes going back to normal, “That hurts a little.”

“Buffy,” said Alex.

The demons saw him as well as Buffy saw Alex and he saw her. Emma shot two blades from her sleeves. Alex unsheathed a sword from his sheath on his back. Angel stepped forward with an axe. Giles was holding an axe.

Conner spun around his sword as he walked into the chamber, One came at Conner from the side. Conner ducked out of the way and chopped the demon in half spun around and kicked a demon coming at him in the chest. He then slammed his sword backwards over his own shoulder and into one of the demon’s heads.

Faith punched one in the face spun around kicked him down. Loaded her cross bow, shot one down then hit another in the head with the cross bow. She backed kicked another demon then elbowed it in the face. She spun around and hit it in the face with her cross bow and loaded it again quickly.

Alex ran up to one stabbed him in the chest. One went down and tried to kick him off his feet. Alex jumped over the demon’s leg swung around the sword and chopped it’s head off and kicked it down. He got punched in the face then rolled back onto his feet dodged a blow then punched the demon in the face, kneed it in the chest then stabbed it.

Angel had his sword thrown from him. He went towards it and one leapt at him inhumanly. Angel was thrown into a wall, he pushed the demon down jumped up and kicked him in the head, punched him in the face. Angel man grabbed the demon by the head and snapped it’s neck.

Emma jumped up in a twirling motion with the blades out, she spun around and cut two of their head’s off and cut another one across the chest. Emma grabbed that demon by the cloak and cut his head off, dropped him and flipped back wards and over one. She went up on her feet and twirled around kicking one in the head.

Giles was carrying his own. He stabbed on in the chest then was hit in the face. He spun around and hit the demon back, hit him with his sword and then he was flipped off his feet.

Conner went up to the leader. The leader had slowly and unsteadily gotten to his feet. Conner went to punch the leader in the face, but the leader was unfazed. He just turned his head back to Conner. The leader was punched in the stomach and unfazed. Conner had to back off.

The leader towered over Conner as it’s minions were all killed. Conner went to kick the demon off his feet. It was like Conner had hit a wall and he just bounced off. Emma ran at the demon and slammed her blades towards his chest.

The blades just broke. The demon grabbed Emma by the arms. Emma’s legs fell down thanks to gravity but her arms were held out like she was in the air. The demon then threw her up through the air and threw ceiling.

The don’t know how far that was up. But when Emma fell, she fell quickly and down hard enough to were when she landed in a crouched position she fell backwards. The floor under her was smashed up about half a foot too.

Emma slowly made it back up on her feet.

“You’re not going to take my wife!” roared Alex going towards the demon.

The skin dripped off the leader’s face a little. Alex sliced his sword at the demon’s head. The demon went to put up his arm. The sword broke on contact with the demon. Emma quickly pulled Alex away from the leader and took the next blow. Emma was thrown across the room into the wall 50ft away.

The wall chipped up when she hit it and left an imprint of her. Conner caught her. He sat her down on the floor softly as she was as it seemed knocked out. Her nose had bled.

Alex looked over to Emma then to the leader, “You can’t have my wife,” he growled looking back at the leader.

The demon’s skin bubbled as he laughed with that deep voice he had, just laughed, couldn’t talk. Conner kissed Emma’s forehead then stood up.

“We might be able to take him all at once,” said Faith.

Conner’s eyes went yellow. Angel saw that, he looked to Giles and Faith, “We can’t risk too many chances to take.”

Conner looked at Emma she started to wake up, then Conner quickly looked to the demon the floor started shaking a little. The demon kept laughing. Emma stood up, “Hand over my mum.”

Suddenly large amounts of yellow goop started oozing quickly from the demon’s facial openings. The pieces of rock on the ground started shaking with the ground. Emma walked towards the demon and then it exploded violently all over the place.

Emma’s eyes turned back, Conner looked to Emma he smiled at her. Alex ran over to Buffy and started untying her, he picked her up and kissed her. Didn’t care about her blood stained dress she wore.

Emma put her left hand on her forehead, “I think I got a headache.”

They looked at the nice little reunion between Alex then Angel looked at Emma who was holding her head, “We should get you back to the hotel.”

“Yeah,” said Faith, “Then we can see what happens when we give one of you Tylenol.”

--------------------------------------

Buffy was alone in her room, clean. Emma walked by the door, “You alright?”

“Quite so,” said Buffy, “Thank you for saving me.”

“Nothing big,” said Emma, she looked to the night sky out of the window, “I don’t much like that Tylenol stuff does it make most people hyper?”

“No, not really, it’s a blood thinner of sorts,” said Buffy.

“I bet I said weirder things then Alex’s grandma,” said Emma.

“She’s a card,” sighed Buffy, she didn‘t speak for a moment, “Why did you save me.”

Emma just kind of looked at Buffy for a moment, then shrugged her shoulders, “Knew it was right.”

“A year ago, two, you wouldn’t have wanted to do that,” said Buffy.

“Well, I’ve realized a lot since then,” said Emma, “Helps when you don’t get a morning helping of Reese for a long time.”

“I wish that had never happened,” said Buffy going towards Emma.

“I get that thought, Dido. It did happen, can’t take it back, and you were just trying to use your motherly instincts, just didn’t turn out the way you thought it would,” said Emma.

Buffy put her hand on Emma’s cheek, Emma looked at her confused. Buffy answered to why she put her hand on Emma’s cheek, “Just seeing that you’re real.”

“Has it hit you yet, or that whole blonde thing permanent?” asked Emma.

“Actually between you and me, I’m a natural brunette,” said Buffy. [I don’t know if she was supposed to brunette or natural blonde in the series, eh’.]

“Okay,” sighed Emma.

Buffy quickly hugged Emma, Emma let her and eased into hugging her back for that moment. Buffy pulled away then she said, “I want you to be in my wedding.”

“OK,” said Emma, “But from what I hear from Dawn, and Willow, and Faith after she has a few, you make me wear the dress, I’m going to go all hostile.”

Buffy smiled at Emma.

--------------------------------------

Emma ended up wide eyed outside the doors of the chapel. People inside the sanctuary waiting for Buffy to go down the isle. Emma was in one of those dresses and high heels, “Man I feel tall,” she growled to Willow.

Willow was holding flowers and so was Dawn, Willow turned around to see Emma, “You look just fine.”

Emma wore her hair up, parted at the side and lip gloss, all pretty lady like. Her hair silky loose curls, those gloves on with the dress, the whole thing. “Sure we can’t kill this thing?”

“I already asked Buffy, these dresses are immune to such, killing,” said Dawn.

“I don’t know, I’m pretty good at killing,” said Emma.

“Alright, we’ll be walking out there when we get the cue,” said Willow.

“Ooh,” said Emma.

They turned towards Emma who ran off inhumanly fast. “Great, she’s going to be the thing that messes this up,” sighed Willow, “Well, no, that’s just being mean.”

--------------------------------------

Giles and Buffy were standing in a different room. They were waiting for their cue. Buffy was pacing, looked very pretty though. Her hair was up and there were pearls woven into her hair. She was very nervous, “Giles,” she said, he looked at her intently, “I think I might throw up again.”

“I don’t think you have anything to worry about Buffy, you’re beautiful,” said Giles.

“Thanks, but that doesn’t just cure the queasy feel in the pit of my stomach, no, in my throat,” said Buffy.

“You’ll do just fine,” assured Giles, “You’ll walk down that isle when the cue comes and you’ll go get hitched.”

Buffy hugged Giles, Giles excepted the hug lovingly, Dawn ran in, “Buffy, Emma’s just ran off.”

“Oh god,” said Buffy.

“We can do this if she’s not standing up there with you Buffy,” said Giles.

“I can’t, she’s my little girl, she has to be there,” said Buffy.

“I think she’ll make it,” said Dawn, “I was just saying.”

“Last time I checked Emma can’t walk in high heels,” said Giles, “I being the man that had to teach her.”

“I’m still wondering about you and that,” said Buffy.

“Buffy,” said Dawn, “The cue.”

“Okay, go, go, I’ll be right there,” said Buffy.

--------------------------------------

Dawn and Willow walked down the isle. Spike saw their dresses and laughed, but then he got real quiet. Conner was there sitting between Angel and Spike. The three of them where wearing suites, Conner looked like he wasn’t as skinny in the one he was wearing. Spike had a weird professional look to him, the hair was the fault of the weird part.

“Where’s Emma?” whispered Conner.

Angel shrugged his shoulders. The music for Buffy and Giles started where she’d walk to her lovely Alex at the end of the isle. He already was there, his best man next to him and his cousin. Everyone stood up for the bride as Giles walked her down the isle in his tux.

As the door was being closed behind the bride the door flew open soundlessly and nothing came through it. Conner sensed it though and looked up front next to Dawn and Willow where the bride would stand was Emma who was playing with her dress like she just stood up from bending over.

Emma wore her hair in the middle parted now, her hair was in a cute little loose messy bun and she had some of her bangs hang down. He bangs were longer then her face. She had cut off those sleeves, took off those gloves, and cut those bows on the front off. She was wearing her boots, which were clean, shiny went half way up her shin. And black socks. The dress didn’t look like it had been cut on, and Emma left on that lip gloss.

Conner looked at Emma and looked at very intently then Spike smacked him in the back of the head. Conner looked at Spike quickly then back at the front, and he looked at Alex, then that cousin winked at him and gave him a funny smile. Conner looked at him disgustedly then shook it off.

Buffy went up to the front, saw Emma who stood right next to her. Buffy gave her a stern look that she was going to scold her. Giles sat down. Emma stuck her tongue out at Buffy and then smiled at her evilly. Buffy turned toward Alex.

Alex wanted to kiss her right there, but he waited till the cue was given at the end of that.
