Good Knight Story: First Contact

KITT pulls up to the alley where the victim was found. Michael and Buffy get out. Buffy hands him a cross and a stake.

BUFFY-
"Just in case." Michael takes the items.

MICHAEL-
"KITT, what do you got?"

KITT-
"Michael, my scanners have picked up faint blood traces heading from the alley and into the field. The trail goes past my scanner range into the woods."

BUFFY-
"KITT, we're going to check it out. Might want to keep the engine running."

KITT-
"Always do."

Michael and Buffy move into the field, and soon into the woods. KITT's attention is on them, until his scanners pick up movement from behind. It was Dawn, who was trying to sneak up behind him.

KITT-
"Dawn, I really don't think your sister will approve of this." Dawn gets in the driver's seat.

DAWN-
"Oh, come on. I'm old enough to go patrolling."

KITT-
"So, how often do you go patrolling."

DAWN-
"Never. Buffy doesn't think I'm old enough."

KITT-
"Maybe she is just trying to protect you."

DAWN-
"I know....I want to help."

KITT-
"Sometimes the best help is just to be there."

Michael and Buffy walk along the path. Suddenly, the bestest and ugliest vampire jumps out. He is almost eight feet tall, and he has a large axe with blood on it. He swings it at Michael, but Buffy pushes him out of the way. She starts fighting with the vampire. Michael talks into his watch.

MICHAEL-
"KITT, GET TO THE FIELD ON."

KITT-
"ON MY WAY."

Dawn watches as the gear shift goes into DRIVE and the gas medal goes to the floor. KITT starts heading for the field.

KITT-
"Dawn, push the button that reads TURBO BOOST." She does, and then she is suddenly slammed back in the seat as KITT goes flying into the field. He skids to a halt right at the path into the woods, and waits. Michael and Buffy are running from the vampire. The passenger door opens and they jump into. The door closes just as the vampire slams his axe against the window. Dawn screams, expecting to see the glass break, but the axe bounces off. KITT then floors his gas pedal and out of the field. Buffy is in the back seat, and Michael is in the passenger seat.

MICHAEL-
"What in the hell was that?"

BUFFY-
"Dawn, what in the hell are you doing out?"

DAWN-
"I..I. just wanted....." Buffy hugs her.

BUFFY-
"It's okay. KITT, anything?"

KITT-
"Nothing on my scanners, Buffy. I did however record the incident on video."

MICHAEL-
"Good. It's go to Buffy's house."
