Double Trouble: Chapter 8

Conner: "If you think I am going to let you operate-" He was cut off by the doctor putting on a mask over his mouth.

doctor: Looking at everyone's expression. "Oh. don't worry. It is just something to make Conner go to sleep."

Angel: "Right."

doctor: "Um... I don't think you'd want to be here."

Nurse: "Everyone, the waiting room is to your right."

Dawn: "I am not leaving him."

Buffy: "Dawn, we're not suppose to be in here. We will see Conner in..."

doctor: "In about 4 hours the operation will be done. Don't know if Conner will be awake though."

Dawn: "Why? What are you going to do?"

Buffy grabs Dawn out of the room. Angel follows.

Angel: "Let us know when you will be done."

Dawn: "And not a minute longer."

doctor: "Will do miss."

Back in the waiting room...

Dawn: "I can't believe you are actually going to let them opereate on Conner."

Angel: "Do I have a choice?"

Dawn: "Yes, you do. All you do is say 'Gee doctor, you know, I dont think my son should get an operation."

Angel: "He has to have an operation."

Dawn: "Conner will be fine. He always pulls through. He's tough. He said he saved your life a few times."

Angel: "Bet he failed to mention that he tried to kill me a few times also, huh."

Dawn frowned

2 hours later...

Dawn: "I swear I am just going to sneak in there and get Conner."

Buffy: "Right. And I bet it wont be a total distraction when they see a girl carrying a boy all cut up."

Angel gives Buffy a look.

Buffy: "Sorry."

2 more hours...

Dawn: "It has been 4 hours. The doctor said he would be done in 4 hours. What is he doing?"

Angel: "They are probably done. They are just getting Conner ready to look...presentable."

Dawn: "I hope they didn't do anything they werent suppose to. If they did I will sue for malpractice."

Dawn looks down the hall, and sees the doctor.

Dawn: "Oh, there he is!"

The doctor walks towards them.

doctor: "Well here are the results."

The doctor looks through some papers.
