Sex and the City: Single in the City
by littlewiccan
At, well age isn’t important, I am still a single woman in the big apple. I’m a journalist for the New York Post and despite my single woman status I write a sex column, using my life and my friends as inspiration. My name is Buffy Summers and my 3 best friends are Anya Emerson, whose a well established lawyer at a great law firm and a bit too cynical and blunt for her own good; Faith Jones, a Public Relations Executive with her own business and a appreciation for the one night stand; and Cordelia Chase, who works in an art gallery and is a hopeless romantic who wants to marry rich and handsome.
Now that the introductions are over lets start at the beginning, about a week ago when I officially turned a new page in the book that is my life and adopted the mantra Carpe Diem.

Faith, Buffy, and Cordy all wait with the others in Anya’s apartment for Anya to come home so they can yell surprise. The apartment is decorated with balloons, streamers, and a big banner that says Happy Birthday Anya!
“Okay everybody,” Buffy says, trying to get their attention but having no luck, “Guys!”
“Hey!” Faith yells and the room falls silent.
“Thanks,” Buffy tells her and then turns and addresses the room full of guests, “Anya should be home any minute so can someone hit the lights.”
A guy by the door turns off the lights and the room goes silent. The door unlocking is heard and Anya walks into the room and turns on the light.
“Surprise!” everyone yells, jumping up from their various hiding places.
“Oh my god, are you trying to kill me,” Anya tells her friends as they come over to greet her and the party gets under way.
Faith laughs.
“Happy Birthday,” Buffy and Cordy tell her.
“Thanks,” Anya says with a smile.
“What’s wrong?” Buffy asks her.
“Nothing, its just every birthday means I’m one step closer to death and my new age is a constant reminder that I’m not getting any younger.”
“Cynical much?” Cordy says as they each grab a drink.
“She’s right,” Buffy says in dismay, “At this rate I’m never going to find Mr. Right.”
“So why bother looking?” Faith suggests.
“Huh?” Buffy says.
“We keep complaining about how all the good men are taken…”
“Or gay,” Anya chimes in.
Faith nods, “So why don’t we just try them all and then forget about it. It works for men.”
“Have sex like men,” Anya says, “I like it.”
“I don’t know,” Cordy says.
“You can’t wait for Mr. Right forever,” Faith reminds her.
“Well, I’m in,” Buffy says.
Cordy sighs, “Whatever.”
Faith smiles, “Here’s to using em and losing em.”
They raise their glasses in a toast.
“Welcome to the age of un-innocence, girls. No one has breakfast at Tiffany's and no one has affairs to remember,” Buffy says as they all clink glasses.
