Joss: Shakespeare Readings

LOS ANGELES - 2001

Everyone was joining Alyson's and Alexis's reading of Romero and Juliet. Their words were a little slurred, somebody...nobody would fess up to it....had brought some beer. After a few cold ones, everyone was feeling a little more than relaxed. After they had finished their reading, Joss suddenly goes over to the piano. He starts playing what would one day be known as 'Rest In Peace'. James had just come over from a rehearsel for his band, and he started to play his guitar along with Joss's piano. It was the beginning of the weirdest shooting schedule the Buffy cast has ever had.

ONE WEEK LATER-

Joss walks into the confederence room and slams some song sheets done on the table.

JOSS-
"Alright, guys...one of the episodes will be a musical." He looks out at everyone and all that could be heard are crickets cirping.

MARTI-
"A what?"

JOSS-
"A musical. It will still advance the plot and I wrote the songs to suit everyone's talent."

JANE-
"What does the cast say about it."

JOSS-
"Oh, they'll love it."

CUT TO-
BUFFY BACKSTAGE

ALYSON-
"I'M NOT DOING IT!!!"

MICHELLE-
"C'mon....it will be fun."

AMBER-
"Yeah, c'mon Aly."

ALYSON-
"Easy for you to say, Amber. You, James, and Tony are have backgrounds in signing. I don't. Come on, my biggest thing outside of Buffy was that stupid 'Flute Joke'."

MICHELLE AND AMBER-
"There was this one time on Buffy....."

ALYSON (laughing)-
"Shut up."

James, Nick, and Sarah walk by playing 'air-flutes'.

ALYSON-
"I'm never living that down, am I?"

SARAH-
"Nope."
