Joss: A Sad Chapter

Author's note: I know this is a sad chapter to write, but I felt it had to be done.

LOS ANGELES - 1998

Joss stares at the TV in his office. Normally, we would be writing or having a staff meeting, but he gave everyone the day off. This was too unbelievable. He was waiting on the network to make it's decision about 'Earshot' and possibly 'Graduation Day Part 2.'

Joss whacked his brain. Sure, he wrote about teenagers getting killed by vampires, and teenagers fighting vampires, but that was fiction....a TV show. This was real. He made the decision that day that none of the good guys on the both shows would use guns. What bothered him the most was 'Earshot'. Joss was worried about the episode pulled delayed or even pulled. He knew that was going to happen, he was waiting for the offical word from the WB. It was the storyline of the episode, espically the point when Jonathon goes into the clock tower with the rifle.

Joss shut his eyes...those poor kids and that teacher. They woke up that morning just thinking it was another day spent in the hell of high school....and now....

Joss shut the TV off and the phone rang. He slowly picked up the phone. It was the call he had been waiting for. The network had decided to postpone both episodes, but 'Graduation Day 2' will be air during the summer and 'Earshot' in the first part of season four. He agreed. He placed the phone back and gave himself a moment of silence for Columbine High School.
