One Person Can Change Everything: Good-bye

by Angel_Forever

Robby got to the apartment at about three in the mourning and she brought Faith with her. What was the point of going back to a crappy hotel?

Faith slept on the couch and Robby went into her bedroom for the last time, the apartment was furnished by the owner so they still had a T.V. and stuff.

Even though they were leaving in about four hours, Robby couldn't sleep a wink. All she could think about was Angel. Yes he was taken, but leaving without really talking seemed wrong.

She got out of bed and grabbed a pen and a piece of paper. Writing as fast as she could she wrote everything she wanted to say and crept towards the door.

"Robby?" Faith mummbled, "what are you doing?"

"I'm gonna talk to Angel, go back to sleep."

"Bout time." Faith went back to sleep and Robby left.

Angel was getting ready to go to sleep, sure dawn was still a few hours away, but there was nothing to do.

He stopped as he smelled someone in the house. Walking silently to the living area he thought the scent was familiar but he couldn't place it.

He looked into the living room staying in the shadows, but the person had gone.

'Robby,' he realized knowing that she was the only person that could have gotten out without him catching her.

He walked to the door hoping she'd be outside, but she's gone.

A little disapointed he went back inside and saw a piece of paper on the couch.

He read it, then sat down feeling a saddness that he never would have expected.

Dear Angel,
Couldn't just avoid the subject, but that is
a surprise because I have in-finished business
all over the planet. Don't ask. I wanted to tell you
I'm sorry about what happened the other day
when you came over earlier today...no yesterday
but I'm not so good with ackward silences.
Then again who is? That's why they're called ackward.
And I wanted to say good-bye. Faith and I are leaving
in at about eight this mourning. We haven't
known each other long, but I know that you're
a good person and that you and Buffy are
going to be very happy. I wish good things for
the both of you. Take care of her and the rest
of the gang, they're good people. I'll
always remember Sunnydale as the first place
I could ever call my home and that's thanks
to how you all accpeted.
Take care and lots of love,
Robby

'Why am I so sad about this?' he thought reading the letter for the third time, then he saw the last line: Lots of love.

'Lots of love?'

Robby got home and Faith woke up again, "So did you talk to him?"

"We didn't talk..."

"You said you were going to talk to him!"

"I left him a note."

"You are really pitiful you know that?"

"Yeah. Can we just go?"

"Now?"

"Yes now! He was coming downstairs he's read it by now!"

"Okay pitiful doesn't cut it."

"I just want to go."

Faith nodded in agreement, "I get it."

"You do?"

"Yeah. I had this thing for Angel a while back and I wanted to get out of here too."

"Wow, but I mean who can blame us?"

"Hooooo yeah!"

"Mmmmmmhhhhmmmm."

"I still wanna get out of here though."

"Even though you're over Angel?"

Faith nodded.

"We got attached."

"Yeah we did."

"S'not something people like us should so."

"Definatly not. Can I get like an hour of sleep before we go though?"

"Sure. Good night."

"Sleep tight."

"Dream of bed bugs tonight."

"You watch to many Disney movies."

"Shut-up."

An hour later the girls packed up Robby's car and were about to head off when the entire Scoobie gang dorve up in Giles' car.

"What are you guys doing here?" asked Faith.

"We wanted to say good-bye," said Willow tearing up.

"Willow don't cry," said Robby, "cause if you start then I'm gonna cry and it's gunna be like dominos where everybody ends up crying."

"I know, it's just," sniff, "you're so nice and we barely know you, but you were so great letting us watch Snoopy at your house and putting up with Xander and..." she burst into tears.

"What Willow was trying to say," said Buffy, "is that we'll miss you."

"Ahh B," said Faith smiling, "Knew you'd learn ta love me!"

"Well I wouldn't go that far, but we will."

Everyone hugged Faith, even Giles, then Willow, Xander and Oz hugged Robby, Giles gave her a pat on the back and a smile, Buffy nodded and smiled and Wes stood stiff and gave a quick nod.

When she got to Angel, she extended her hand, "Nice knowing you."

He shook it, "You too."

She started to turn away and he pulled her into a hug.

'Uhh Angel?' she asked in their heads, 'You don't have to hug me.'

'I know, take care of Faith and yourself.'

'Will do.'

'Lots of love.'

Her eyes widened and she turned away avoiding his gaze. Faith was already in the car and she got in trying not to go too fast, but it didn't work.

As the pulled out of the drive way Faith stuck her head out the window and waved yelling, "Kill lots of vamps for me B!"

Robby didn't look back, she never did. Then again this was the first time she'd ever had a reason to.

They got to the highway and Faith fell asleep.

"So long Sunnydale," whispered Robby, "I'm not coming back."
