ANGEL: Bad Boy
by Quortoth
Chp; 22 Bad Boy
Angelus stayed down in the Lobby all day. Not a soul new that he was any different. Angelus read up on everything that Wesley had read up on. Played Good Boy.
Angelus put the book down, “I’m trying,” he was pulled an Angel, that was his goal, “I can’t understand this.”
“Do you have translations to help?” asked Wesley looked up from his new Codex.
“Yes, obviously, but these are just random facts,” he sounded a little angry, Books, making Angelus angry.
“You don’t have to read them,” said Wesley.
“Yes I do,” said Angelus standing up from his desk, “I have to save the world Wes my man, I have to be the Hero.”
Wesley looked at him funny, “You alright, someone, spiking your blood.”
“No,” said Angel, “I’m fine.”
“You should go out, you haven’t slept, really, I don’t know what you should do,” said Wesley.
“Nether have you,” said Angelus.
“Well I’m book man,” sighed Wesley, “I would have more readers but Emma is angry and Conner keeps to himself and Spike’s out doing your job.” Angelus looked at him, “That’s what he said. I think you’re doing a fine job. But Angel I don’t think you really need that kind of moral support from me.”
“Don’t worry, I’m heading out,” stated Angelus, “Maybe I’ll check our contacts, we haven’t done that in a while.”
“You’re right, but since they’re all with in a 100yrs. Old I don’t think they’ll have any real ideas,” stated Wesley.
“But Wes,” started Angelus going towards the door out, he didn’t grab his coat, probably going upstairs to change, “They might be able to tell me where Mr. Harvester is hanging his boots.”
Conner was putting on his shirt. A long-sleeved black one. His lamp lit his bedroom. He grabbed his belt off his bed and put it into the loops on his pants. Cordelia was standing next to him.
“You’re still not happy,” said Cordelia.
“Go away,” snarled Conner.
“I can’t go away Conner, not till things are right,” she said.
Conner stepped away from her, “This isn’t right,” he sighed, “You’re dead.”
“Well Conner, I know very well that I’m dead,” she stated.
Conner sat on his bed, he wiped his forehead confused, “I need to see Emma.”
“No you don’t, has she been comforting you, don’t lie Conner, you said you hated her, where’s the hate?!”
“Shut up!” he said, “I don’t want you here.”
“I love you Conner, I want what’s best for you and you shun me,” she said.
Conner’s eyes went yellow and he slammed her against the wall, “I see you and hear you, but Nobody else does!!” He breathed hard, head full of anger.
“Because,” sighed Cordelia, Conner could smell her fear as if it were actually there, “I was evil, if I showed the others me, they would try to destroy me.”
“I don’t want you here,” sneered Conner, “Lies, you’re more lies.”
“I thought I had your trust, I thought I had your love,” said Cordelia, “You have mines.”
Conner backed away, “Stop…. Talking… To ME.”
“I’m proud of you Conner, you’ve gotten so far, I’m proud of you making the decision over Emma,” she said, “And I know that your mind is telling you different, but she’s bad news. She’ll deceive, you, you were with her and she played with you. Played with you in the Dinning area.”
He backed into a corner and slid down the wall, “I…don’t….know.”
A vampire ran across the top of buildings. He cradled a baby in his arms. He leapt across one building to the next like he was being chased. He was.
Spike was not far behind sprinted across the top of the building right behind him. The vampire jumped to another building. Spike just all of the sudden leapt over the vamp and punched him in the face grabbing the baby and putting it down as the vampire came back towards him.
Spike ducked the vamps punch and punched back then went down and kicked the vamp off his feet. He got back up and kicked the vamp in the face before it could fully come back. He spun around and shot a stake out of his right sleeve. All of a sudden he slammed it into the vamps chest and the vampire went into the wind.
He retracted the stake and looked to the baby. He picked it up and went to the edge of the building and gently dropped down to the woman. She was out of breath and quickly excepted the baby.
“Oh,” she cuddled the silent child, “You saved her.”
“Okay,” sighed Spike.
She gripped her purse, she started hitting Spike with it, “Don’t you think I didn’t see you chase that thing up there!!” she kept going, “You put my child in Danger you S. O. B.!!” She kept going, “I ought to have you arrested!!!”
“Hey lady back off!” said Spike putting his hand over his head, “Your baby’s safe.”
They purse was quickly taken out of her hands by none other than Emma. She tossed the purse down the side walked, “Fetch.”
The woman looked at her being startled by her quick presence. The woman quickly walked off towards the purse.
“That was harsh,” said Spike.
“She was beating you with her purse,” said Emma, “I had to do something.”
“She was just afraid for her child,” scolded Spike.
“Yeah, and you were getting beaten by her more than you usually do by vamps.”
Spike looked her, “You’ve got a point.”
“Bloody exactly,” said Emma.
“What are you doing outside the hotel anyway?” asked Spike.
“I wanted to get out of there,” sighed Emma, “Plus, how many women have hit you with their purses tonight?”
“3,” he stated, “Because one though I was going to kill her, another was startled when I came out nowhere to defend her. And one was I think a transvestite.”
“What’s a transvestite?”
“A person who likes to dress up like their opposite gender,” replied Spike.
“Oh, that’s disturbing, this dimension is full of new things,” Emma said folding her arms, “So I take you’ve been world saving.”
“Not really, just L.A. saving and I think all of those Angel Investigation callers were prank callers,” sighed Spike walking with Emma.
“Or now thanks to what’s happening over in Africa, they’re too scared to call,” said Emma.
“I figure,” replied Spike.
“I guess the world can’t be saved, or something like that,” sighed Emma.
“What are we doing here?” asked Spike quickly.
Emma looked at him, “What?” then she looked back down at the ground.
“We’re having a very civil conversation,” said Spike.
“So, we’ve had them before,” said Emma shrugging her shoulders looking back to where she was walking.
“It’s all of a sudden,” smiled Spike.
“What?”
“Come on,” said Spike, “I don’t think you dislike me anymore.” Emma didn’t reply, “You’re my daughter.”
“Yes,” said Emma, “Why do you say, that I’m your daughter, I know that.”
“Because always saying I love you sounds a little corny,” replied Spike.
“Okay, yeah because saying, ‘you’re my daughter’ is bloody speck of charm,” stated Emma.
“I’m glad that you’re my daughter, you don’t made with me anymore,” replied Spike.
“I figure I got over it,” sighed Emma stopping, “Seeing almost die.”
“You cared,” he smiled.
“Yeah, I figure that’s what you’d call it,” Emma smiled, “Maybe I was afraid I wouldn’t get my inheritance.”
“The only inheritance you’ve got is my leather jacket, but there’s no guarantees that’ll survive,” he laughed.
“I don’t want to think about death,” sighed Emma.
“That’s my girl,” smiled Spike.
“Angel’s acting funny,” stated Emma.
“Oh, he just probably found out he’s got world saving competition.”
“No,” Emma said looking down, “I don’t think so, his hole presence feels different.”
“Don’t worry Emma,” started Spike, “Maybe he’s been drinking, that Lorne, left a whole lot of recipes for mixed drinks.”
“That guy was creepy,” said Emma.
Spike smiled at her.
Angelus was walking the town of L.A. Once again. He had gotten changed, a black button up shirt, and nice pair of leather pants. Of course he wore a nice black coat. Walking the town. Looking at all the throats.
Look at all the skin, made just for me, he thought. Angelus walked down the street like he owned the place. What evil could he do now?
Angelus was not watching where he was going. Or maybe it was just that fast.
“Angelus,” said Lilah, standing right before him, hardly any room between them.
“Yes?” smiled Angel looking at her leather clad figure, “That was sudden.”
Lilah put her white finger on his chin, “Master wants to see you.”
“Why is that?” smiled Angelus.
“He wants to have a little talk,” she laughed running her finger down his throat to his chest.
“I guess I can spare my time to have a little talk,” emphasis on little as he spoke.
“Follow me,” she said turning around suddenly.
“Well if that’s what it takes,” he replied.
He followed her. People who did see her, stared because of her odd skin, and seeming fondness to leather.
Angelus was lead to the one place that The Harvester would be found. The throne before them at the end of the hall. The lights baffled Angelus. Lilah lead him up to the throne. The Harvester came out of nowhere.
“Angelus,” he said.
“Nice place you’ve got here,” complimented Angelus, “A bachelor pad if I’ve ever seen one.”
The Harvester in his threatening height walked towards Angel, “As soon as I acquired the knowledge of your existence, I had to see you for myself.”
“So that’s why I’m here is it?” asked Angelus, “I didn’t know a demon of your stature would have such a crush on me.”
“Crush,” he laughed, “I’ve heard of your ways, Lilah speaks much.”
“Well, her past life, she wasn’t the biggest secret keeper,” laughed Angelus, “Now, the thing that I’m wondering about, I don’t love Gwen, the only way to get me out either have my soul extracted or a perfect moment of pure happiness. Having sex just makes my long gone friend guilty feeling.”
“But my human Waltz seemed rather knowledgeable of a way to change that. He knew the many ways of what you call, drugs,” said The Harvester.
“Oh, so you just made sex more a effective because this is permanent right?” questioned Angelus.
“Of course, I allow it,” he stated.
“No, about this little talk what of it?” asked Angelus.
“Follow me,” said The Harvester.
Angelus followed him, “Oh, boy, If I keep having to follow people I’m going to start declining. I don’t usually jump with mommy’s approval.”
“Don’t worry,” stated The Harvester waving his hand and the ice room opening, then the other one.
“Oh boy,” said Angelus in a hyper manner, “This crackerjack palace has all the little surprises.”
The Harvester lead him into the last of the room, “This is my room.”
“You sleep in here?” questioned Angelus.
“That I do not,” said The Harvester, “I have a large plan for you to fulfill, this room, this rest of water should be filled with what I say. With the one that’ll guarantee my reign.”
“Really,” said Angelus.
The Harvester held out his closed palm, “Really my friend,” he opened his palm, an apple, purest and most beautiful of reds, “Green is the color of death to me, and red is life, like the throbbing heart.”
“What’s with the apple?” questioned Angelus.
“It is a gift, one bite will give you the power that consisted inside this coffin’s previous owner, well resident.”
Angel held it, “I take it that it’s strong,” he smiled, “Is this some kind of trick.”
“No, you are not my enemy Angelus, I think you’ll be a great warrior in my army.”
“Warrior, sorry but I don’t fight for anyone,” said Angelus going to hand the big demon back his apple.
“No,” The Harvester rejected the apple, “Keep it, think about my ordeal, think about what power you may have. Think about how this battle guarantees you everything you’ve ever wanted. Think of it as your battle, your war. Great power is among you right there.”
“So you’re the snake and I’m the poor human who’s going to except this apple from the tree I was told not to eat from.”
“I laugh at your comparison,” he said, “Call me a snake if you want, I do not care. Because at the beginning and ending of that story the biter was a woman, do you compare yourself to that of a woman.”
“No, but I’ve always been known a little bit for Angel’s taste,” replied Angelus looking at that Apple.
“Do you understand what I am offering?”
“All too well,” replied Angelus.
“You know what power I possess,” smiled The Harvester.
“But do you have weaknesses?” asked Angelus.
“I will be frank, Angelus, I was taken down, Millennia ago, more then can imagine. Such a time I can only remember. I was taken down by a vessel, of great power. A child, hardly old enough to understand the world. But strong enough to destroy me. I took what she loved and locked it away.”
“What kind of vessel?” asked Angelus.
“The vessels are no more, or well, their heirs aren’t strong enough to do anything now.”
“I want to know more about them,” stated Angelus.
“Just know that they can kill you if you go looking for them before I say,” replied The Harvester.
Angelus took the Apple from his hands, “I’ll think on this whole powerful thing. Just give me what I want.”
“Tell me what, and we’ll see well enough to it,” said the Harvester.
Spike and Emma got back late. About 12:00am. They walked into the Lobby.
“Was your world saving good?” asked Wesley reading at the bar.
“Fine,” scoffed Spike not liking the way Wes asked.
Emma sniffed the air, “What’s that smell.”
“What smell asked Spike, normal musty smell of this place or something else?” asked Spike.
“Something else,” said Emma, she sniffed the air, “I don’t what it is.”
Emma went towards the stairs Spike followed her. Wesley tore away from his book putting his notebook inside his Codex and going with them. Emma sniffed the air.
“What does it smell like,” asked Wesley.
“Death,” said Emma.
“Well maybe it’s the rats,” said Wesley.
Emma followed the smell to Angel’s room. The door was locked, “It’s in there.”
“It’s Angel’s room, of course there’s a dead rat in there,” said Spike.
Emma lifted her leg and kicked the door open the lock braking. Emma sniffed the room. She went towards the bed and got down on her knees, “It’s a lot strong-” she stopped having noticed the arm outside of the bed.
“What is it?” asked Spike.
Emma grabbed the arm and pulled out Gwen. Wesley looked at the body wide eyed.
“He’s killing,” said Spike.
“Why?” asked Emma.
“I don’t know,” said Wesley.
“Angelus?” asked Spike.
Emma put Gwen on the bed. Her skin already blue around the edges. Emma sniffed the neck wound. She pulled away. “He is evil.”
“How do you know?” asked Wesley.
“It’s something about his spit, um….” she though about it, “Evil smells different then good, she was definitely killed by Angel, but it different, a lot of things to consider.”
“You pick that up?” asked Spike.
“Senses,” stated Emma.
“Angelus is here, this can’t be,” sighed Wesley, he sounded stressed, why wouldn’t he be?
“That’s bad,” said Emma, “I’ve seen all the things he’s done.”
“How?” wondered Wesley.
“Needs a moment of pure happiness,” stated Spike.
“Well they had sex,” replied Emma.
“Oh,” said Spike, “That’s it.”
“We need to do something,” said Wesley, “We need to get him.”
“Emma go get Conner,” said Spike.
Emma walked out of the room.
Conner sat in his room in that little corner his hands over his ears, he looked up and Cordelia stood there still trying to talk to him. “Shut up,” he pleaded. She kept talking to him.
“Conner, listen to me,” said Cordelia, “I have to talk to you so you can stay away from Emma.”
“No, I need to talk to her,” sighed Conner, “This can’t be happening.”
“She’s not good,” tears went down Cordelia’s cheeks, “I care for what’s best-”
“For me, when you wont go away, you make me crazy,” he trembled, “Stop it,” he said.
There was a knock at his door. Conner stood up slowly and went towards the door.
Angelus spoke from the other side, acting like Angel again, “Conner, I want to talk to you.”
On the other side Angelus was smiling widely with pleasure. Conner slowly opened the door, “What do you want?”
“Angel knows best,” said Cordelia going up behind Conner.
Conner winced trying to block her out. Angelus couldn’t see Cordelia.
“I want you to come with me, son,” stated Angelus.
“What?” asked Conner, “Where?”
“Something special just for you,” said Angelus, “I know things have been hard with you loosing memory, loosening Emma.”
“Where?” asked Conner.
“Just follow me,” said Angelus, “I should be allowed to surprise you, you know that.”
Conner came out of his room and slammed the door closed before Cordelia could walk out. “Okay,” sighed Conner, “Lead the way.”
Spike and Wesley went back to the Lobby. Wesley looked over to the Bar, “Bloody hell.”
Wes and Spike stopped in their tracks. All the books were gone, all the notes, gone, everything that Wesley had been working on, gone.
“Angelus was here,” said Spike.
“He took everything, all that information,” said Wesley, “We’re truly nowhere.”
“Conner’s gone,” said Emma suddenly behind them, “Angelus has been in that room.”
“What would he do with Conner?” asked Spike.
“Conner would be able to tell that Angelus was there, not Angel,” said Emma looking at the bar.
“Conner can take down Angelus,” said Spike.
“Yeah,” said Emma.
“We need to get the Tranquilizers, get the cage down stairs ready, call Willow,” stated Wesley.
“What?” sneered Emma.
“We might not need to invite her or Buffy here,” said Wesley.
“Fine,” said Emma, “I’ll go look for Conner.”
“No,” said Spike, “Till we get some news from Conner, or Wesley comes up with something, we’re going to get ready for Angelus.”
“But I should go out there I’m the fastest, I’m the best tracker,” said Emma.
“I’ll track Conner,” said Spike.
“Why?” demanded Emma.
“Because, it seems sane,” said Spike grabbing his coat and putting it on.
Wesley walked into the room and handed some tranquilizer darts and a tranquilizer hand gun, loaded, to Spike, “The cage is downstairs Emma, You can help make sure it’s ready. I’ll call Willow.”
Angelus was leading Conner through a dark Cemetery. “Why am I here?” asked Conner.
“I want to show you something,” said Angelus.
Angelus lead Conner forward. They walked for a long moment. Then Angelus stopped.
“What?” asked Conner.
“Here,” said Angelus pointing forward, “I Thought this would mean a lot for you to see.” Cordelia Chase, 1979-2004. She was loved deeply and will be forever, “I know this is hard for you to see but it’s here.”
Conner was confused, “Why?”
“I couldn’t stop you,” sighed Angelus, “You need to know, I want our relationship the way it was.”
“What, what, couldn’t stop me?” asked Conner.
“Cordelia woke up from her coma, I was keeping her safe. You went on some kind rampage. You captured her and beat her to death,” sighed Angelus, “I wish I’d stopped you, so much blood. I couldn’t. I just wanted to tell you.”
“Blood?” asked Conner.
Angelus turned from him, he smiled when Conner couldn’t do anything but look at the grave, “It was in that room of yours, you raped her and then started,” he made a sound like he had feelings to hold back, “Pull her hair out slowly, put nails in her hands….I know this must hurt you so much, but….she was naked and helpless and blood all over her.
“Why would I do that?”
“She tried to love you again Conner, the way she should of, Emma said that she would just keep lying,” Angelus turned towards Conner, “But she wasn’t Conner. She was telling the whole truth.”
Angelus’ smiled was on his face as wide as ever as he spoke to Conner, Conner didn’t both to look at Angelus either, “I didn’t.”
“You did Conner,” said Angel, “I thought life was so clear, how you raped Emma, you made me for a time forget that you were my son. It just kind of turns out, you’re more like Emma, a killer.” Angelus then stabbed a syringe into Conner’s neck.
Conner took a gasp for air. He felt dizzy all of a sudden, his eyes flashed yellow. He sunk down on his knees. Angelus pulled the syringe from his throat and tossed it aside, “Conner what wrong?!” demanded Angelus, fake concerned voice.
“What… are… you…doing?” questioned Conner looking up at the sky, sweat went down his face.
“Nothing, what,” his voice became a sort of joking voice, but still concerned, “What’s going on, are you okay?” Angelus grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him, “What’s wrong Conner.” Everything to Conner was distorted. His senses didn’t drop any, he was just weaker, he felt human weak, Angelus laughed at him, “Something wrong.”
“Angel-us,” Conner said.
“Why are you calling be Angelus?” asked Angelus, treating him like he was crazy.
Angelus pulled away, “Cordelia was innocent, and you had your way. The blood is always going to be on your hands!!” he laughed, “Remember Holtz,” said Angelus, “Oh, how can you forget him? I tell you this, his screaming wife in my arms was fulfilling. I could of road her for eternity!”
Conner fell backwards and hit his head on the stone, he laid there, he felt so trapped he, he backed away from Angelus and sat against the stone not noticing that he couldn’t go back anymore. Angelus walked off.
Conner tried to get up. He slowly got to his feet by fell back down and over the grave stone ripping his shirt and scraping his back. The scrape didn’t heal. He tried to get back on his feet. Everything made him dizzy.
All of a sudden a shovel smacked him across the face. Conner flew into the gravestone braking it. Angelus came back over to him, “That Holtz, knew you were going to one day turn on him and just damned well handed you over to me!!” Angelus pull him off the grave, “Fred, you know how she died, let me start with the miner details.”
Over the time that the cage wasn’t being used they’d put stuff in it. Emma and Wesley were unpacking it. Putting the boxes of things outside of the cage.
Emma picked up a box took it outside the cage, a back forth thing, “I should be out there looking for Conner.”
“Spike wanted you here,” said Wesley.
“It’s sodding not right, I’m the best tracker,” she put down a box.
Wesley stacked that box on another and went in the cage, “He’s your father, it’s right to obey him.”
“I should find Conner,” said Emma, “I can feel something wrong right now, Angelus is doing something, Conner is scared, sad, He’s so sad.”
Wes looked at her, “It’s hard when you can’t be near someone you really care for.”
“What, no, I don’t care for him anymore,” said Emma standing there with a box in her arms shaking her head.
“Anymore?” asked Wesley.
“You know, it’s not you your business,” stated Emma, “Just take the damn box,” she handed it to him aggressively.
“I know,” said Wesley, “I just thought you might want to talk.”
Emma looked at him through the cage bars, “Well, no wonder you can’t get any work down, you want to sit around with the guys, and, talk about your feelings,” stated Emma, “Stupid Angel seems willing, telling anyone who’ll listen about me and Conner.”
“He was worried,” said Wesley.
“Really, like I need to be worried for,” she picked the box up looking at him, “Don’t answer that. I don’t care about Conner, he doesn’t care about me, so I don’t give the same.”
Angelus was digging a whole, digging up Cordelia’s grave. Conner was laying on the grass watching. He was too weak. Blood was in his mouth from the shovel that hitting him across the face.
“And that’s how she died,” said Angelus.
“Shut up!” demanded Conner, his words weren’t easy to say, “Shut… your… mouth.”
Conner heard Angel pull open the black casket. He walked over to Conner. Angelus grabbed Conner up from under his arms and threw him in the hole. Conner landed on Cordelia’s decade body. Hardly anything to make her look like she was more then a skeleton. Conner yelled.
“So think about what you did,” said Angelus, put the top back on.
Angelus fit the concrete from the casing back on and started filling the hole back up. Conner couldn’t breath. He was panicking. He was hitting the top trying to open it. He was too weak. He yelled to be let out.
“OUT!!!” he slammed his fist into the coffin top, nothing happening, just a hard thump, “OUT, OUT!!!”
On top of the land Angelus finally finished filling the hole, “You know, torture is hard.” Angelus walked off wielding the shovel.
Angelus dropped his shovel off at the entrance of the cemetery and walked on. He felt like a happy child. He wanted a party, something wild. He wanted torture. He craved it.
Loud noise sounded around him in the midst of the dancing people of a nice little teenage place. Under aged children everywhere. Didn’t matter. He could have dance with them. Angelus walked like a lonely person in the night. Watching everyone in the crowd.
Waiting for his victim. He saw a nice young blonde woman. Sitting all alone. Drinking her drink. Her youth would make her silly, make her fall for Angelus. Angelus stepped towards her, “Hi.”
“Hi,” she said looking up.
“Why so lonely?” asked Angelus.
She sighed, “My boyfriend is off getting us some more drinks.”
“Really?” asked Angelus stepping around her to her right side. She watched him, “Does he really make you happy?”
“Yeah,” she said, “What’s it to you?” she kept a sweetness about her voice as she spoke.
“You seemed lonely, that’s what,” stated Angelus, “I bet I could make you happier.”
“I doubt it,” she said.
“Come on, try my way, dance with me,” smiled Angelus.
“Okay, I guess I can let you do that,” she replied.
He took her hand and lead her towards the floor. Angelus started to dance. She smiled watching him. She danced with him, rocking her hips back and forth to the music. They danced for a long time it seemed. Angelus the entire time didn’t take his eyes off her.
“I don’t want to dance anymore,” sighed the woman.
“Okay, that’s alright,” said Angelus, “I think your boyfriend left.”
“Oh, he’s in here, probably with another woman,” she said.
“I thought he made you happy,” asked Angelus.
“Sometimes,” she sighed.
Angelus caressed her right cheek with his left hand, “You think we should go outside.”
“Sure,” she taunted walking away from him.
“I’ll meet you out there,” smiled Angelus.
Angelus was gone from her. Angelus walked out into the alley. He waited for a minute, two, three, four. Angelus waited, she wasn’t coming.
He went back into the club and saw the woman with her boyfriend. Angelus went up to the table, “Excuse me.”
“Oh, you,” she sighed.
“You the guy flirting with my girlfriend?” asked the guy.
“What do you think?” Angelus asked.
“I think if you were, you better back off,” he said looking aggressively at Angelus.
“Come on, you know she’d look but on me, on my bed, on my floor, in my car,” said Angelus.
“We’re taking this outside,” said the guy, the guys friend with him.
“Okay,” agreed Angelus, “Outside then.”
Angelus was gone. The guys, that woman came outside. Angelus was already there. They didn’t see him. Angelus grabbed the guy in the back by the head and sunk his now vampire teeth into the man’s neck.
“Help,” the man gasped.
Angelus dropped the man as the others saw him. One went to punch him. Angelus duck and slammed his fist into the man’s head. He jumped up and kicked one in the head. The man flew over the dumpster. Angelus grabbed another snapped his arm and tossed him down.
Angelus knocked the woman out and went to towards the boyfriend. He ducked a blow then punched the boyfriend in the face blood flying from his mouth. He kicked the boyfriend in the stomach grabbed him and put his teeth into his throat.
Didn’t drink him all the way. Pulled away, he grabbed the woman and slowly caressed her face. She opened her eyes looking at him. Angelus put his hand over her mouth and looked at the boyfriend, “Now you get to see me rape your girlfriend to death,” he bent down sticking his fangs into her neck.
Conner’s eyes opened quickly. He’d passed out from exertion in there and being to weak try exerting anything. He started breathing hard trying to see. He started punching in the ceiling of the coffin in a panic. He punched at it till his hand went through the concrete into the moist earth.
Conner’s eyes went yellow as he kept going. On the top of the ground in the moist night sky Conner dug himself all the way out. He pulled himself out. Hot. His eyes reverted. Cordelia stood over him, “I’m so sorry Conner.”
“Get the hell away from me,” he said getting himself up slowly.
“I didn’t want this to happen, I only want the best,” she said.
“SHUT UP!!!” he damned hitting the illusion in the face. She slammed down on the ground and he took off running, feeling dirty, sleepless, crazy.
Emma walked into her bedroom and closed her door behind her. She locked it and turned around quickly noticing something. Angelus stood in front of her. In front of the window.
“And so we truly me, here, do we?”
“I can kill you where you stand,” she scoffed, “Where’s Conner?”
“Coming back here, any moment,” stated Angelus, “I figure, he’s okay don’t worry.”
“You smell like death,” said Emma.
Angelus raised his arms up and sniffed under each one, “Where do you get that from?”
“You’ve killed,” said Emma.
“Rape, tortured, drank blood or, whatever you want to call it,” he ranted.
“Evil,” said Emma, “That’s what.”
Angelus put his hands in his pockets, “That’s just the way I am,” he let a smile creep upon his face.
Emma went towards him, “We’re going to make you Angel again.”
“I don’t think so,” said Angelus taking out another syringe much like the one he stuck into Conner, clear liquid in it, “Now you see, this stuff,” Emma had stopped going towards him, “it made Conner as weak as a human, it’ll do the same to you, and if I wanted I’d then kill you.”
“I’m immortal,” said Emma.
“Everyone’s got a weakness,” said Angelus.
“What do you want?” asked Emma.
“I have a proposition,” stated Angelus.
“I wouldn’t except,” said Emma.
“You haven’t heard my proposition yet,” said Angelus.
“It’s evil,” said Emma.
“Well, yeah but I’m not done,” he started, he pulled the apple out of his jacket, “This is the key to power.”
“No,” Emma said sarcastically, “It’s an apple.”
“I want you to join me, in the rise, you get to live, not as a slave. Powerful, perfect,” stated Angelus.
“No.”
“Is this because you won’t be with Conner when this happens,” said Angelus.
“No.”
“Lie.”
“I’m not evil,” she said.
“But that heart, it’s as red as this apple, red means power, red mean,” he said it even though he felt it was kind of corny, “Red is life.”
“What’s the color of my heart have anything to bloody do with your plans?”
“But on the inside, it’s black,” he smiled.
“The inside of the apple or my heart?” she questioned, her presence had become threatening.
“The heart of course, you feel it on the inside, that urge for power,” he came towards her, “What reason do you have not to trust me, look at what I can give you, look.”
“I have every reason, You’re evil, disturbed-”
“Like you, come on, put that brain into use,” he said backing away and putting the apple on the bed side table, “So much power for you, so much for you to handle.”
“Handle?”
“Think about the feeling you get, maybe then you could give yourself some rest,” stated Angelus.
“I’m not evil, never going to be evil, that’s the way it works,” said Emma.
“I’ll kill Conner,” stated Angelus, “And don’t think I wouldn’t, I’m already.”
Emma’s eyes turned yellow, “You said he was safe.”
“But he’s not sane is he?” asked Angelus, “His mind is killing him.”
He backed away slowly towards the window, “Think about it, I’ll give you a couple of days, maybe 1,” said Angelus, “I advice you take that apple.”
Angelus leaped out of the window. Emma watched her drapes blow in the night.
Wesley walked around in the Lobby. No one was down there. Then all of a sudden there was some kind of noise. He looked around. Wes went up the stairs not knowing what it was.
He went slowly up the stairs. Towards his room. Candles were lit through out the hall. That sound was some kind of romantic music. He slowly followed the sound.
A draft came down the hall. He went towards his bedroom the music getting louder as he went. Wes walked into his room. All the lights were out. Candles everywhere. And odd stench was in the air and rose petals littered the floor. Beautiful music playing.
The table he’d had in his room was decorated with the stuff for a romantic dinner. He kept walking towards were the music was. He went to his bedroom and flipped on the lights.
A shock ran through his body. Nausea hit him. He could close his eyes. On his bed in red lingerie. Roses all over the bed around the body of his lover. Fred, she hardly looked like herself. Her decomposing body laying on his bed.
That stench was her death. Her dead body. In her left cheek was carved a cross, Angelus’ sign. Wesley turned from the body. His eyes watered up. The nausea rose in his throat. It hit him hard and he bent over coughing, vomiting. He couldn’t help himself, why wouldn’t he want to vomit?
Morning Conner climbed into his window of his bedroom falling on the floor. He was healed, dirty. He laid on the floor. His head throbbed from the light. Slowly he stood up. He looked around the room. No Cordy.
Conner pulled his shirt off and went for the bathroom. He looked up at the ceiling, he still had his own blood in his mouth from before. He started to unbuckle his pants and he stepped towards the shower.
Wesley, Spike, and Emma were down stairs making sure the bars of the cage were up to snuff. Emma grabbed on to a set and pulled on them till they’d start bending then fixed them.
“Any sign of where Angelus is?” asked Wesley, “Or Conner?”
“Angelus has been killing,” stated Spike, “A lot.”
“Conner’s back,” said Emma, “I can feel him.”
“Alright,” sighed Wesley, “If we can’t get Angelus here, then that’ll lead to us, killing him.”
“Fine by me,” said Emma.
“Whatever it takes,” stated Spike.
“Thank You, both you,” said Wesley.
“That was foul play,” said Emma.
“Please don’t remind me,” said Wesley.
“We need to find out where he’ll be next,” said Spike.
“Angelus is smart,” said Wesley walking up the stairs with Emma and Spike.
Emma walked down the hall to the Lobby first from the basement, “Maybe there’s some kind of sign to where he’ll hit next.”
“Why not track him, sent,” stated Wesley.
“Well,” Emma started, “He’s bound to have been all over the place by now.”
She sat u p on the bar.
“Where has he been?” asked Wesley.
“4 places,” said Spike, “ 4 clubs,” [Made up names, I don’t really know that much about L.A.] “The Swat, Brooklyn, Larva, and Spin.”
“Okay,” sighed Wesley writing that down, “Maybe this can tell us something.”
“Maybe, besides the fact Angelus boy is gorging himself in blood,” said Emma.
“5 bodies dead at each club, one female a group, probably raped,” sighed Spike.
“So 20 bodies in all,” said Emma.
“He’s probably killing five people at a time,” started Wesley writing down the number 20, “Or does he just like keeping it in a number?”
“No, Angelus is doing something,” said Spike.
“What if he wants us to think he’s doing something when really he’s just being himself,” said Emma.
“Well suggested,” started Wesley, “But if we leave are guard down on this kind of thing nothing’s stopping him from the greater plan.”
“Which we don’t know,” said Spike sitting down on the purple seat thing in the middle of the Lobby.
“It’s like we finally ‘one’ step away from something and then things get screwed up,” said Emma.
“But we not going to let us get taken down by this,” stated Wesley.
Emma looked at the names of the clubs on the paper, “I’ve never heard of these places.”
“Just some top clubs,” stated Spike.
“Just?” asked Emma, “Do you think that he’d go to these places for a reason.”
“No, not really,” said Spike, “He’s always been fond of killing wealthy people. Any people actually.”
“Maybe it does matter,” said Emma.
“Well we’ll check into it,” started Wes, “Until then I think we have who we need to change Angelus back.”
“Huh?’ asked Spike.
They looked over to the door, Dawn, Willow, Faith and Buffy were there, “So they actually came?” laughed Emma, “Turns out we’re just one more bloody foot in hole.”
“Hi,” smiled Willow to Wesley.
“How are you guys said Wesley stepping forward. His arms folded across his chest.
“Five by Five,” stated Faith.
Emma looked up thinking, “Five by Five, 5 out of 5. If that was the square feet of a room each side would be accurate with the opposite one. You‘re doing great.”
“See now, somebody understands it,” said Faith.
“How are you guys doing?” asked Buffy.
Spike stood up, “We’re doing fine.”
“I have to admit,” started Emma, “You’ve got some guts coming around, again. Taking chances aren’t we?”
“Angelus is around, I thought it’d be best,” said Buffy.
“Is that some kind threat,” asked Dawn.
“No,” said Emma, “Just saying.”
“So who’s doing the work around here?” questioned Faith.
“We have one chosen,” said Wesley, “If we need to kill Angelus, we will.”
“We seem alright about it,” said Emma standing up, “What about you guys?”
Buffy looked at Emma, You look at the two of them and get confused about where Emma got her height, “People are in danger, we can’t let this go on.”
“So, what’s really the biggest problem now?” asked Dawn.
Emma looked at Wesley, “Angelus boy might just dig up your old family members.”
Wesley looked down, “He dug up Fred and put her on my bed.”
“Sorry to say anything,” said Emma.
“That’s fine,” stated Wesley.
“Well, lets get this spell ready,” said Willow, “Good part, Angelus doesn’t have to be here for the spell.”
Conner was out of the shower. He stood in the bathroom shirtless looking in the mirror. He put his belt back on looking up at the mirror. He felt normal again, crazy. Restless. He put his hands on the sink under the mirror.
Emma slipped her right arm around his chest. She wore a purple spaghetti strapped shirt and a pair of jean shorts. She slipped her arm up his chest slowly turning him towards her. She kissed his neck as he turned around.
She eased up his neck and his chin, reached his mouth and kissed him deeply on his lips. She slid her hand up his chest and into his hair as he replied to her kisses with his. Conner put his hands on her sides under her arms, and stroked his hands down. He made his way to the top of her legs and grabbed them and sat her on the sink.
She put her hands against the mirror as he started kissing her neck. She let out a sigh like moan as he went back to her lips putt his hands up her shirt slowly. Conner opened his eyes.
He fantasy went away quickly. He’d opened his eyes and was now looking at the mirror again. Hadn’t move a bit.
“You get fantasies of her,” said Cordelia looking at him in the mirror.
“Leave me alone,” said Conner walking out of the bathroom and grabbing his white long-sleeve shirt off the bed and putting it on.
“You have to rid your mind of sweet boy,” she said.
Conner turned towards her, “I’m not a boy.”
“You shouldn’t have trusted Angel,” said Cordelia.
“He’s Angelus now, I can sense it,” said Conner pushing his hair back from his face.
“Those demon senses, I thought you didn’t want them,” said Cordelia.
“I don’t want any of this!” growled Conner.
“You want her,” stated Cordelia, “You don’t want me, you didn’t even want that Gwen girl when you’d laid eyes on her.”
“Why wont you leave me alone!!?”
“Cause I care,” stated Cordelia, “Choices have consequences.”
Night came in. Willow was collecting her supplies. Faith and Buffy had searched the sewers for Angelus. Dawn helped Willow.
Wesley kept up with the news and collected the weapons that might be needed. Emma slept. Spike slept. Night Conner came out of his room. He came down the stairs slowly. Didn’t bother anyone.
Emma sat on the bar next to Wesley’s notepad and Willow’s stuff. Emma watched Willow, “What is it?” asked Willow.
“Sorry,” said Emma quietly.
“What?” asked Willow.
“Sorry,” said Emma, “Sorry about what I did you Kennedy.”
Willow looked down, “I didn’t think you could feel guilt.”
“I feel guilt all the time,” said Emma.
“I don’t think I can except an apology, not now anyway,” said Willow.
“That’s why don’t usually say that,” said Emma, “Just saying.”
Willow turned from Emma and went back to what she was doing. Faith was looking at the weapons.
“Good weapons, I think these will come especially in handy,” said Faith.
“Shinned them too,” stated Wesley.
“Bravo,” said Faith.
Dawn was talking with Buffy on the second floor, “Buffy I know what this is doing to you.”
“Don’t worry Dawn,” stated Buffy.
“Come on Buffy,” said Dawn, “I sense these things, I’m your sister, it’s my job.”
“Angelus, killing, it’s hardly real to me,” said Buffy, “I didn’t think I’d be helping again.”
“It’s not just that,” said Dawn.
“Emma too, you know, I can’t stop the past from having been done, and I don’t think there’s anything to worry about now,” said Buffy.
“What about Spike, have you told him?” asked Dawn.
“I don’t quite think he’d be very exceptive yet,” said Buffy.
“I mean, you’re moving on, come on, not like you’re just going to stay with a vampire,” said Dawn, she folded her arms over her chest leaning against the wall, “I know, even though he’s the father of your only child, that’d be a true fairytale.”
“You’re right, I’ll tell them after we fix this Angelus problem,” said Buffy.
“Then more traveling?” asked Dawn.
“We’ll go back to London,” said Buffy, “Giles says he’s found us a nice place.”
“Nice to see Giles again,” smiled Dawn, “And Xander.”
Buffy shook her head nicely. Spike came into the room with boxes of tranquilizers, “We’re going to make him sleep for a couple of years.”
“As long as he’s not killing in his sleep,” said Emma folding her arms across her chest.
Conner watched Willow, “More magic?”
“Sorry Conner, it’s what needed,” said Willow.
“Sorry, you think messing with forces that-”
“I know what the forces do,” said Willow.
“Don’t interrupt me,” snapped Conner walking towards her, “I don’t think there should be any aftermaths.”
“It’s understandable, but, it’s the only way we can rein soul Angelus,” said Willow.
“Not like a soul is just going to go sodding grow on him,” sneered Emma, “Doesn’t work that way.”
Conner watched her. She looked away.
“I just need a couple of things,” said Willow.
“What?” asked Faith.
“The orb,” said Willow.
“Couple is two,” stated Emma.
Conner looked at the piece of paper with the clubs and numbers. Cordelia behind him, “Get a map.”
Conner looked over to the map of L.A. on the wall over the desk behind the bar, “Where’s these places at?”
“What?” asked Wesley.
“Where are they?” questioned Conner.
“Map them,” said Emma, she went over to the other side of the bar and got off it and grabbed a marker off the desk and the L.A. map off the wall, “Map them.”
Wesley came over, and so did the others. Wesley mapped the places, 3 places in a straight row, then one standing out to the right, “I don’t see it,” stated Wesley.
Conner took the marker and drew another dot, “Angelus took me to the cemetery and ended up barring me next to Cordelia’s dead body of bones and old skin,” his voice seemed kind of angered, Emma looked at him then back down at the map.
“Where’s it point to?” asked Faith.
“5 places, 6 is where it points to,” said Spike.
“There,” said Wesley, “A bank, from back in the 20s. Closed up cause it kept getting robbed.”
“There, Angelus want us there,” said Emma.
“Faith, Spike, Emma, Conner,” said Buffy, “We should go there, now.”
Angelus walked into the Temple. The Harvester had returned from Africa, kind of in a blink of an eyes, “Angelus, have you chosen?”
“Not yet my cherry friend,” commented Angelus on his red color.
“Really?” asked The Harvester.
“I need your little buddies, Gunn, Lilah, come with me,” said Angelus.
“Why?” asked The Harvester.
“I think they could have a little fun kicking old friend ass,” stated Angelus, “And I know how evil acts makes you all gitty.”
“Really, why do you wish to commit such petty acts?” questioned The Harvester.
“You can call me petty, but I’m evil, I must do evil, cause, it’s fun,” smiled Angelus.
The way was quite a walk. But they did it. Got there pretty fast in fact. Everyone was quiet no one talking. Conner watching Emma, blinking out Cordelia’s rants. They were armed.
Tranquilizers, Swords, cross bow. Faith had a sword, Emma had the blades up her sleeves. Conner had a sword. Spike had a crossbow. [Never seen him with one.] Each one had a tranquilizer gun.
The door of the old bank was wide open. Ready for their entrance they went in there carefully. Soundlessly. Watching for anything and everything around them. Emma sniffed the air, “I smell him.”
“So you do!!” called Angelus form the rafters, he didn’t come down.
“You come on down Angelus, be a good boy,” said Faith gripping the sword.
“No, no, no,” he taunted, “Actually Faith, Buffy, the gang, I’ve got a nice little surprise for you.”
“What?” asked Faith.
“I like surprises,” growled Emma, “Like the a lot.”
“Oh, but I know you’ll love this one, or two,” said Angelus.
Cordelia wasn’t around pestering Conner. Just him and reality. Spike held the cross bow tighter, slowly lifting it up.
“Willie, don’t touch that dial, you’ll just piss them off.”
All of a sudden the crossbow was kicked from Spike’s hands from Lilah. She quickly swung her foot back around on the opposite leg and slammed it into Spike face. She flung her fist forward and punched him in the face throwing him aside. Emma put her vamp eyes on and went up behind The Lilah and punched in the back of the head.
Lilah ducked the blow and spun around going to kick Emma in the face. Emma flipped backwards dodging the blow. She landed and shoved her foot into Lilah’s face knocking Lilah back wards.
Lilah halted herself before the fall. She jumped up at a spin and went to slam her arms against Emma’s face and Emma quickly put the blades up crossing them to block Lilah’s arms. She stabbed Lilah in the chest then punched her in the face blade still out.
The blades melted with contact to Lilah’s skin. Emma backed away. Gunn came up behind Buffy all of a sudden. Buff didn’t hear the blow till the last moment when Gunn’s fist scratched her cheek. That close. Buffy backed away.
Faith went to slice Gunn’s head off but Gunn grabbed the sword and tossed it aside. He punched her in the face then swung around and kicked her in the stomach. Faith was thrown across the room. Conner jumped up and kicked him across the face.
Gunn just smiled at him unmoved. Angelus jumped down and punched Buffy in that face with his right than went to punch Buffy again. Buffy ducked the blow and went to punch Angelus in the stomach. Angelus was quick enough to back up off from the fist blow.
“Come on slayer, is that all you’ve got?!” laughed Angelus.
Buffy went down to kick him off his feet and he leapt up doing a back flip landing on his feet and kicking Buffy across the face. She fell back on her back and flipped up on her feet and went to punch him. Angelus ducked the blow. He ducked the blow from the other side and went to punch Buffy who ducked back.
Conner punched Gunn in the face and ducked a blow. Conner’s eyes went yellow as Cordelia started screaming next to him. That’s all he heard, Cordelia’s screams. Conner went to punched Gunn. Gunn caught his fist and squeezed it hard trying to brake poor crazy Conner’s fingers.
Conner pulled away falling back. He quickly got back on his feet and ducked a blow. Spike was thrown into a set of stairs almost getting stab staked by an old piece of wood. He stood back up going after Lilah.
Lilah grabbed Emma by the hair. Emma kicked Lilah in the stomach. Lilah let go. Emma swung around quickly slammed her fist into Lilah’s face. Lilah just backed up laughing. Spike came back and went to stab her with a sword. The sword melted.
Faith ducked a blow from Gunn. She kicked him in the stomach and Gunn grabbed her foot and spun her onto the floor. Buffy was still fighting Angelus.
“What Buffy?” said Angelus punching her in the face, “Getting old, not quite up to snuff?!”
“You don’t even know what I am!” said Buffy, she spun around quickly and kicked him across the face.
Angelus went flying into the old counter braking it, “YEE HA!!” HE flipped back up on his feet and went back towards her.
Emma grabbed Lilah and held onto her and sucked her up. Emma’s eyes went yellow to red. That weird transformation. Emma held on aggressively. Emma slammed her fist into Lilah’s face and grabbed her. Emma took Lilah and flung her out of the building. The ground shook.
Emma looked around. All of a sudden, as Angelus had been walking towards Buffy he’d thrown a dart into Emma’s neck. She was about to fall down. She reverted back to normal. Her eyes flashed Yellow. Conner had been thrown down by Gunn. Conner stood up quickly. Emma hit the ground.
Conner grabbed Emma and took her behind the counter. He laid her down. Everything was going blurry around her. She became dizzy and couldn’t do anything, “Emma?!”
“Don’t talk to her Conner,” demanded Cordelia.
“Shut up,” sneered Conner to Cordelia.
“You won’t ever be able to make me shut it, I want what’s right!” said Cordelia.
“Emma?” questioned Conner looking down at her.
Buffy was thrown into a set of the stairs. She stood up and went back to Angelus, she pulled the Tranquilizer gun out and went for it. Angelus quickly grabbed a shard of old wood from the floor and blocked all the darts. He threw down the board. Faith was thrown over Angelus’ head and landed on the stairs and she started falling down them.
“Come on Buffy?!” started Angelus going towards her, his face changed into it’s vampire form, “Why are you here, the chosen one, you’ve tired out more than I have!!”
Buffy wiped the blood from her nose and kept going towards him. Gunn was having his fun, with Faith and Spike. Spike and Faith were getting beaten up.
Angelus ducked a blow from Buffy, another from the opposite side. Angelus grabbed the empty tranquilizer from the floor and slammed it into Buffy’s head, once, twice. He grabbed Buffy by the shirt brought her up to his mouth and put his fangs into her throat.
“Emma, I don’t know what going on,” said Conner.
Emma looked confused around her, She grabbed Conner’s shirt and brought him down to her aggressively. Quickly she became to weak to keep her hand up, a hold of his collar. Emma smelt his blood through his skin.
Conner leaned in and kissed her. She took in the kiss, she raised her head up. Conner held it. She kept kissing him. Her hands fell down beside her. Conner put his arms around her like he didn’t want her to let go of him.
Emma’s eyes went yellow and she sunk her teeth into Conner’s throat. Emma sucked in his blood. She could feel herself become stronger. A little, little, by little. The bruise on her arm, the cut on her cheek. They healed and she pulled away.
She started kissing Conner again. Conner’s blood outside of his neck and not in her went back in and he healed. There was a loud spark in the air and the floor shook.
“Stop this fighting, now, scum, children!” said The Harvester before them.
Angelus let go of Buffy. Buffy fell to the floor. Faith opened her eyes as she pushed herself slowly up off the floor. Not taking her eyes off the Harvester. Spike pulled a stake out of his stomach as he walked towards Buffy.
“Angelus, Gunn, come now,” said The Harvester, he waved his hand and they shimmered into the darkness.
Day didn’t come for a long time, didn’t show up as Buffy lay in the hospital, Faith next to her. Spike bandaged up laying on the Lobby couch. Emma didn’t feel like she had the strength to heal him. Something about his wounds made it harder when she tried.
Conner went to his room. Talking to himself, rambling on. Emma went to hers. She stood in her room for a long moment. Looking at her room. The darkness of the windows. The blanket on her bed. She looked at them.
She felt horrible. Emma looked at the perfect apple on her nightstand, “He can kill us,” she sighed, “Death.” Emma closed her eyes and thought for a moment, “I know what must be done, even if I become, evil.”
Emma went to the apple and grabbed it from the nightstand and took a bite from it. She bit the apple and dropped it. She stepped away into the book shelf. She grabbed a hold of the wood. Looking straight forward.
Emma bent over in pain and let out a loud yell. Her eyes covered over with blackness. The room filled with a black light and the doors open and the glass out of the window. In every room.
The Hyperion filled with black light making the glass of the hotel brake, the bars of the gates bend. The medal creak. Cars get blown across the street. The light was like an explosion. Everything thing around her started turning into dust immediately.
