The Return: Prologue

by Jenna Poo

disclaimer: okay~ we all know whose the genius behind. so lets give credit where credit is due: standing ovations to Joss Whedon and the rest of the team that makes Buffy's world spin! *clap clap clap clap* on that note:) the Characters of Jonathan and Jasmine are mine...but if you want to borrow them, thats totally cool, just let me know:) also, the story is mine, but if you also feel compelled to borrow that, then thats fine too, but please let me know so you don't take credit for something i did, cause that would be not very nice:) so, along that happy note:)~ i dreamed up this story all on my own. i'm actually quite rpoud of it, i think its one of my better:)however, i do spend alot of time reading fanfic from this site, so if you happen to be reading this and come across something thats makes you think ' hey, thats kinda cool, i've done something like that before' or 'i write a little like that' then be flattered:) know that i took the time to read your story and learned from it, and then applyed what i learned for your writing into my own:) you can think of yourself as my yoda :)

authors note: this story takes place like 5 minutes after "The Answers" so if you want too, you can read thatbefore this. It won't really effect this story if you don't, but that story may give you a better feel for the way i handle the characters, and my view on certian events on the show. this take place before the third season, so andthing that had been revealed in the third season thus far doesn't hold anything in this story, although, because of the third season, some of the characters attitudes might be influenced, because i don't really want to wander to far away from the plot of the show:) anything else you need to know? oh yes! i am a total Buffy/Angel sap...so if your not.....well i still encourage you to read this because you might find something new:) alright1 enough stalling! on to the show! :)

Prologue

Joyce walked out of the Sunnydale library and onto the school parking lot.she walked numbly to her car and got into the drivers side. She stared at the wheel, her mind going over the conversation she had had with Mr. Giles and Buffy's friends. It was going to take her a very long time to except this. She sighed. " How am I ever going to explain this to her father?"

Inside the library Giles, Willow, and Xander all sat at the table. Deathly silence filled the room. They all just sat, lost in their own thoughts about what was going to happen now in their lives. They all felt the deep sense that nothing was going to be the same.

Willow was the one to break the silence. " Giles.... I'm worried. Did you notice the look on Buffy's mom's face when she left?"

Giles thought about that. He did notice Mrs. Summers almost comatose state. But that was to be expected after one finds out that vampires and demons are real, and that your only child is the one soul that can defeat them.

" Yes, Willow, I did notice."

There was silence once again.

" So.....what are we gonna to do about it, G?" Xander asked, after it was apparent Giles wasn't going to say anything else.

Giles looked at the children over the top of his glasses. He too had been wondering the same question. He had no idea what was going to happen, or what any of them was going to do. He wasn't even sure there was anything they could do.

" Well," He paused, wondering if he should express to Xander and Willow his true feelings. He decided not to hold back from them. " I'm not sure if there is anything that we can do. I'm afraid that the only thing that will solve this problem is for Buffy to come home."

They all sat looking at the table, the same thought going through their minds * IF she ever comes back *. Xander straitened up, suddenly a goofy grin on his face.

"So, who's hungry?"
