When you know every corner,
And you know every cave,
And there’s nothing to do but run.
What do you do?
Do you run and hide till it goes away?
Till you’ve forgotten the people that cared.
Forgotten their faces of concern,
Forgotten the love in their eyes,
Forgotten the hope they had for you.

Or do you face the pain,
And face the agony,
And face the people you hurt.
But will the pain ever fade?
Or will the guilt always linger?
I finally see the truth,
I see that hope is all I need.
Hope that the guilt will never linger.
Hope that the memories will never fade.
So I will let my heart lead me home,
Where I know I will not soon forget my past.
