Lena was about to slam the stake in the vampire's heart when something in his eyes stopped her. She froze, the stake inches from his chest. “ You're not chickening out on me now are you love?” “ No.” “ Then go ahead and stake me. End my bloody existence. Put me outta my bloody misery.” “ I can't.” “ Why the bloody hell not? I'm just another vampire. Justa bloody monster.”

Lena got to her feet and yanked him up. “ Saw something in your eyes. My gut tells me you're different.” “ Whaddya mean love?” “ I have no friggin clue ok. Why the hell don't you tell me?” She watched as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lit one. He offered her the pack and she shook her head. “ I don't smoke and you shouldn't either. Its bad for your health you know.” He smirked at her and she realized what she just said. “ Great, I just gave a health tip to a dead guy.” She said putting her hand to her forehead.

He took another drag on his cigarette and watched her thoughtfully. “ Whats your name love?” “ Lena.” “ How long you been a Slayer?” “ Over two years but I've only been patrolling and stuff for one.” “ He nodded. “ And stop changing the subject and answer my damn question!”

He finished his cigarette and turned to her. “ Well love you're right. I am different than any other vampire you've ever killed.” “ Hows that?” “ Well, for starters I have a soul.”
