Girls Just Wanna Have Fun: Prologue

by Xanders Butterfly

Buffy gazed dreamily out of her window, and watched the softly curling clouds, float by. With
her head rested gently in her hands, she was free to stare out into the depths of the fresh new
day, and....

"BUFFY!" A shout roused her from her thoughts, and before she could even gather her senses
into an orderly pile, Joyce Summers peeped around her bedroom door. "It's time to get ready,
sweetie." Buffy rolled her eyes, restlessly. She wanted to stay in her comfortable position all day,
and dream about Angel's tender caress, but...

"Just ten more minutes," she pleaded. Joyce stared back at her, with a bemused smile, creased
upon her lips. "Five?" asked Buffy, hopefully.

"Four...three...two...one." Joyce finished, flatly. Glancing up at Buffy, she raised an eyebrow,
authoritatively, and Buffy's shoulders sagged.

"Okay, okay! You win, mom." Joyce clapped her hands together, enthusicastically.

"Don't I always?" She chuckled slightly as she slipped her hands onto her hips, and turned to
leave. "C'mon, now. You don't wanna be late for school, do you?" Buffy watched her mother
leave the room, and inhaled tiredly.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world."

Turning back towards her window, she noticed a gang of four girls, marching triumphantly down
the street. They all modelled black clothing, which hugged their svelte bodies, tightly. Buffy
winced at their bad sense of fashion. Even *she* wouldn't go as far as covering her lips thickly
with a sticky black lipstick, or smothering her eyelids in a layer of smokey grey dust. Wrinkling
her nose in disgust, she examined the group, further. A small trail of blood seemed to follow
them along the pavement, but Buffy shook her head in denial. Sure, these girls were weird,
wannabe-vamps, but they were just a gang who wanted to look cool...right?

Down below Buffy's window, Kyla, a member of the gang, slid her tongue along her smooth
white teeth.

"We're being watched," she hissed, without a single movement of her lips. The rest of the group
nodded. "It doesn't matter though. We live to conquer. No-one will ever discover our *little*
secret..." She began to giggle, and as she did so, blood began to trickle through her perfect
teeth. She broke out into loud laughter, and it dribbled down her cheeks. "Ooh, girls, just wanna
have fu-u-u-u-u-n!"
