Destiny.

It was a cold friday night.. And as usual Giles was doing some research while Buffy and Angel were out slaying.

"How is Giles ?" Buffy asked, she was worried about him.
He was so distracted lately.
Always reading those muffy old books, never coming out of the library anymore. Angel didn't notice it, he didn't know Giles so well, he was only his assistent for a year, and when they talk, it's only about work, work, or Buffy, but she didn't know that.
"Does he say anything about what he reads in his books or something like that?"
"I only read the books he gives me, and do the research he tells me to do. I don't ask him what he's reading, or thinking."
"Come on. Arn't you a little curious about what's going on inside his british old head."
"No! (looked at buffy and smiled) Look, Buffy, I know that your worried about him, but whatever's going on inside his mind, he'll tell you when the time is ripe. Till then you'll just have to dy of curiosity."
She looked at him, then looked down, her smile he gave her a minute ago disappears, and she quitly says something.
"I will."
Angel pretends he didn't hear that and they just keep walking.

In the mean time Giles has fallen asleep in the library.
But from the moment someone steps into the library he awaked.
"Anybody here ?" the girl yells.
"In here." Giles answeres.
The girl stepped into Giles's office. She's wearing a fluufy T-shirt, with a bunny on it. And she has red hair. It's Willow!
"What ya doing ?" she asked while Giles was hiding some books.
"N...nothing, it's, I'm doing nothing, really, you can go home Willow. I don't need any help."
"Ow, okay, if that's what you want. I'll see ya tomorow I guess."
And as quick as she came she left.
"That was close." Giles said to himself. "How could I be so stupid, falling asleep with these books lying around. If anybody sees them, they'd freak.

Meanwhile Bffy and Angel came across a vampire.
The vamp. tried to run the other way, but Angel blocked him. Angel threw him at a tombstone.
It broke, the vamp. tried to get up, Buffy hitt him and dusted him.
They walked away, that was it for the night, Buffy wanted to see Giles first, before going home.
"So, that was pretty cool, what you did there."
"Nah, it was nothing compared to you." Angel said.
She looked behind her and saw the broken tombstone, then she looked at Angel.
"Yeah, sure, that was really nothing."
He smiled at her, she smiled back. She liked Angel, even though she would never admit it.
He liked her too, Giles knew that, Angel talks about her a lott.
Buffy knocked on the door of his office.
He wasn't in there, so she thought this would be the perfect moment to see what' he's been hiding.
She had to look a bit to find something. But she did.
She found a lott of books, and notes, and one of those notes said this :
'The slayer will carry the Great Warrior for nine months till it's born. She will feed him, take care of him, teach him her fighting moves. The child will be the bringer of the end of evil.
She will make love with a slayer on her 18th birthday. That will bring forth the Great Warrior, stopper of all evil!'
Buffy just stood there, was this what Giles was hiding from her ?
Will she have a child nine months from now ?
Buffy's 18th birthday was in a week. That means she would have to have sex with someone she doesn't even now, on her birthday.

"No, I'm not doing it, no way in hell am I doing it." she was deeply disturbed about what she had just read, that she didn't even hear him.
"What arn't you doing ?" he asked her. She turned around, and Giles was standing there, he looked a bit strange, then he saw those papers in her hand.
"What are you holding ?" She tried to hide it behind her back, but it was to late, he had already seen it, and he grabbed the papers out of her hands.
She looked down.
"Did you read this ?!" she wouldn't answer. "Buffy, answer me!" she looked up. "Did you read this ?!" He said while holding the papers in the air.
"Yeah, I did, I read it. So what ? It's not possible, so why did you try to hide it."
He looked at her, then looked at the papers.
"I tried to hide it because you couldn't know what was about to happen, cause it's going to happen, it's your destiny. I had to keep it from you to stop you from trying to stop it."
She looked at him with her angry but still sarcastic face.
"Okay, i'll get back to you later on the whole trying to stop me from stopping me (she was a bit confused) later. But did you even listen to what I said. (he looked at her not knowing what she had said.) It's impossible!"

A quit followed, then...
"What do you mean impossible ? It's your destiny, it has to happen."
"Giles, even if I turned gay overnight and sleep with a woman on my birthday, I still wouldn't be pregnant."
He looked at her as if she was crazy.
She grabbed his papers.
"Look, I have to sleep with a slayer in order to get pregnant. Newsflash, all slayers are woman, and there is pnly one, and that's me, and besides, male slayers don't exist."
He grabbed the papers back, looked at them, then looked at Buffy, then looked at the papers agian, and then at Buffy.
"Yeah, I think you get it now, i'll see you tomorow, if I feel up to it."
And she walked out of the door, leaving Giles alone with his papers.

A week later :

Giles hadn't seen Buffy in days, she'd call from time to time to see where Angel was, to go slay, but she never wanted to talk to Giles.
Her birthday was today, and the only thing Giles cared about was to find out who the man was she was destend to sleep with.
Then it hit him...

"So, Buff., you still haven't talked to Giles ?" Xander asked.
They were in Buffy's room.
Willow was there, she was sitting next to Buffy and Oz was there too, he was sitting next To Willow.
Xander was sitting on a chair, and Cordelia was sitting on his lap.
"No. I don't ever want to see him again."
Before anyone, like Cordelia, could open his or her mouth, the door bel went.
They all went downstairs with Buffy, they wanted to know who was at the door.
She opened the door, and after a second she closed it again.
The gang was standing on the stairs, they didn't see who it was, but they had a good idee.
"Buffy, you have to lett me in, I have something very important to tell you."
Buffy acted like she didn't even hear him.
"Buffy, please! It's about Angel."
She immediately opened the door and lett him in.

"What about Angel ?!" she asked while the others were still standing on the stairs.
"Some vampire's took him. They figured out who he is. And if you don't save him, the earth will be doomed forever.
"Why ? He's just a young man, how much can he affect this world." Willow asked instead of Buffy, Buffy looked at Willow, and then at Giles, she also wanted to now why.
"He's suposed to be the father of the Great Warrior." Giles said.
Nobody got it. They all looked around.
"Isn't the father suposed to be a slayer ?" Cordelia asked.
"I made a mistake in the translation."
"Figures." Buffy said and she looked away, she didn't want to see Giles' face.
"Are we talking about a tiny mistake, or a big one ?" Xander asked.
Now Oz was the only one who hasn't said anything.
"It depends." Giles answered.
"Depends on what ?" Buffy said, she was getting impatient.
"On what you think is a big or a tiny mistake."
"Spill it." Buffy said even more impatient.
"I mistaked the part where the father was a slayer, what it said was that the father was going to be the son of a slayer."
Buffy figured as much, she didn't want to sleep with anyone on her birthday, but she didn't want to lett Angel dy because of it.

"What now ?" Willow asked, looking at Giles.
"Now, we wait." Giles said and he went into the living room and sat down. The gang followed.
"Wait for what ?" Cordelia asked, she still wasn't getting any of this.
"Wait to see if she sleeps with him or not. She's got four hours left."
Nobody said anything after that.

Meanwhile Buffy was searching one of the cemeteries for some cave's or crypt's with a couple of vampires in it. And after a few minutes of searching, Buffy found a crypt.
They were fighting against Angel, shouting things, she couldn't hear what.
She wanted to go in and help him, but her legs were numb. She couldn't move, she didn't want to move. When she heard Giles talking about her destiny a week ago, she believed him, she knew that what he said was true.

"No! You make your own destiny!" she yelled, and she ran into the crypt.
The vamps were still shouthing things, now Buffy could hear it.
"Bringer of the Great Warrior, you must dy, you must dy!!!"
"You know, I kinda agree with that, you (she looks at the vamp.) must dy."
She kicked him, the vampire yelled, Angel, who had a wound, fought too.
She threw a stake at him.
He immediately stabbed one of the vampires with it, the vampire yelled.
Buffy kicked them and hitt them and dusted them untill there were no more.
Angel could stop fighting now, he fell down.

"Angel! (She runnes to him) Are you okay ?"
They looked at the stab wound, it looked worse then it was.
"We should take care of this." Buffy said and she stood up.
"Buffy, (he grabbed her hand) I know about the prophecy."
"I don't... I can't..."
He looked at her, a tear rolled down her cheek.
"I understand, you don't have to love me just because I love you."
She looked up, she saw him looking at her and he was inlove with her, she never knew that.
"But I do, I do love you. I've loved you since the first day I saw you."
He stood up, looked her in the ayes, touched her cheek, and kissed her.
Buffy hesitated, but she kissed him back too.
Their kiss was full off passion, she'd never been kissed like that before, neither was he.
They kept kissing and kissing each other, and then they gently lied down...

Six years later :

"Mummy, mummy! Look what I found."
A boy came running to the woman with blond hair, besides her stood a man with black hair.
They were looking at the ocean. Then they looked at the boy.
He was holding a spider.
"That's a nice spider you have there." she said and she touched it.
"Willow wants to turn it into a butterfly, but she can't do that. Can she ?"
"No, Willow can't do that, tell her Buffy said so, tell that to her."
She smiled and the boy gave her a hug.
Then he ran away again.
Angel, the man who was standing besides her yelled something.
"Oh, Sammy, don't put the spider in the food this time. We'd like to eat it for once."
"Yes daddy."

Then Giles came to Buffy.
He was a bit older now, a bit greyer.
"Hi, Buffy. (he gave her a hug) Hi Angel. (he shook his hand)"
"How have you been ?" he asked Buffy, while Angel was going tot the picknick table where the rest of the gang was.
"Great, I've been great. I haven't seen a vamp around in months. I couldn't be better. You ?"
"I'm fine, thx. And Sammy, how has he been ?"
"He's good, Angel is teaching him schoolstuff, and I'm teaching him the other stuff, vampires, demons, nothing toserious thought, just the normal things. (Giles laughed a bit, normal, that's a word he didn't hear much these days.) Willow is teaching him some stuff about witchcraft. I'm not teaching him any fighting skills yet. That can waith."
She kept looking at the ocean and she was looking very peacefull.
"And how is the baby ? Is everything okay ?"
"As okay as can be, it's gonna be a gril you know. Me, having a girl."
She smiled.

Then she turned around to Giles.
"When you moved to Engeland, I never told you how greatfull I am that you told me about destiny, my destiny. You said we all have a destiny, and that it was destend to be so, but that night on my 18th birthday, when I slept with Angel, it wasn't because I had to, it was because I wanted to, because I loved him, and I still do."
He looked at her.
"These picknicks we have evry year, they're great, but, I, we wanna see you more, so Angel and I, and the rest of the gang desided to move to Engeland. I wanna see you more, and the others didn't wana lett me go alone, so they're coming along."
Giles looked around and saw Buffy looking at the ocean, and that it might be her last time that she would see that ocean, since she was planning to move to Engeland.
"Buffy...(she turned around) No..."
"You're place is here, and my place is in Engeland. (she looked down, a bit sad.) Don't be sad, you can isit me anytime, i'll always have a place for you, you're like a dauhter to me Buffy, and I won't lett you leave this wonderfull peacefull place.
She smiled and he smiled back, then Angel came and gave her a kiss.
"The picknick's ready, honey."

So theyall went to eat. They laughed and laughed and they looked back all those years ago, and they were happy about how things turned out. They had good lives now.
