New Girls: Reality is Better Then Fiction

"We interuptt this program for a public warning to the people of Sunnydale. A man has escaped from the mentel institute an hour outside of Sunnydale. The police describe him as extremly hostile. No further information had been given."

The next day...

"D-d-did you guys see the news last night?" asked Tara.

"Yeah," said Dawn, "I just hope Buffy didn't."

"Why not?" asked Anya.

"B can take care of herself, but if a phsyco-path gets her in a dark alley, she might, oh I don't know maybe panick?"

"Faith, you don't think that it was..."

"Wouldn't surprise me Fred."

"Could you girls put that in english for those of us that don't speak girl?" asked Spike.

"I think it's Riley Ice Cap."

"Ice Cap?"

"Not the point."

"I know...What if he, you know, comes after her?"

"He comes withen a town of Buffy, he's getting one ass woupen from a certain brother!" Gunn said punching his palm.

"Babe, he's phsycotic. Don't think even you coud take him on. Even for Buffy."

"Speaking of Buffy, where is she? And I haven't seen Peaches either."

"Buffy called me this mourning," Willow told him, "Angel was going to drive her."

"Still, you'd think they'd've gotten here by now."

"Who would've?"

Angel and Buffy walked up.

"Oh, just wonderin' where you guys were is all."

"A detective got to Buffy's house at the same time I did." explained Angel.

"I take it youu know then," Anya asked Buffy.

She only nodded.

"Did they say who?"

"Riley."

"Oh, well...let's get to class."

Buffy didn't say much all day and that night at the Bronze, she just sat at thier table.

"I'm worried about her," Angel told Wesley at the bar, "you think she'll be ok?"

"This must have been a tremendus shock for her. Though I suspect once Riley is locked up again, she'll be fine. She'll feel safer then."

"You're prob..." Angel went to the door and left.

Wesely made a move to follow him when Gunn grabbed his arm, "Don't. Go keep an eye on Buffy."

Outside in the pouring rain........

Angel had Riley pinned to the side of a building.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to see Buf..oof."

Angel punched him.

"Never say her name, you have no right to."

"Stay away from her! she's mine!"

"Yours? She's my girlfriend! And I have a feeling if anyone ever reffered to her as a possesion she'd probably kill them."

"She loves me!"

"Fiction can be fun Riley, but there's a little flaw to it. it's made up, not real. Just like these feelings that you've imagined Buffy has for you. The cops'll are on thier way and until then, you're all mine."

Angel punched him in the stomache when Buffy came out.

"Buffy help!" Riley begged.

"Angel stop!"

"Buffy? This guy.."

"I know what he is. But the last thing I want is you in prison. I need you here Angel, not in some cell because of a few punches that seemed like a good idea at the time. Please."

Riley tried to get up, but Angel kicked him back down.

"What are you saying Buffy?"

"I'm saying...Angel watch out!"

Riley had pulled a knife out of his pocket. He took a swip, but Angel had already moved.

He started to move towards Angel who'd gone to Buffy's side when she asked in a small voice, "Riley please don't!"

"I'm doing this for us Buffy! He's the only thing standing in between you and me!"

'No he's not! I am! I don't love you Riley! I don't even like you! How could I?"

Riley just stood there looking shocked.

They stood there not moving for what seemed like years and the police found them and took Riley away.

"I'm sorry for all the trouble he's caused you Miss Summers. We'll have him tanseprted to a more secure facilaty out of the state."

"Thank you."

They car drove away and Angel put his coat on Buffy's shoulders, "I'll walk you home."

When they got to her porch Buffy said before going in, "I was saying...I love you Angel."

"Love...you...me?" he stuttered back.

"Maybe not in that order, but yes."

Before she could even blink, Buffy was in his arms, locked in the best kiss she'd ever had!

"I love you too."
