Pinky the Vampire Slayer and the Revenge of Catherine the Great: Part Six

by Kirbyclause

Buffy marched strongly across the park. Unfortunatly she had no destination in mind. She had already told her mother that she was on Ms. Calander's feild trip (which Joyce had accepted despite the fact that Buffy didn't have a computer class), and she wasn't going back to Angel's apartment. That's when a voice broke her thoughts.

"Hey there.", a voice said. "You wouldn't mind showing a poor lost girl where she could find a bed for the night?", the overly womanly, super sexy voice asked her. Buffy turned around. "Hey you're not a boy!", the woman said from across the park.

"Now how did you figure that out?", Buffy asked while closing the distance between them. "Ooh, I know! It must have been these big boobs.", she snapped. "I know you.", the woman told her, her voice becomming colder instantly. When Buffy got within a few feet in the dark park, she could see why.

"Ms. French?", Buffy asked. Only then did 'Ms. French' morph into the monster she is...She-Mantis.

As usual, Druscilla was sitting across Spike's lap. "You liked that Pinky fellow, didn't you?", he asked Dru again. "He was so... profound.", Dru confirmed. "Yeah, profound, that's exactly what describes that mouse.", Spike said sarcastically in a tone that Dru wouldn't pick up. "What I don't get is why he smells so much like the Slayer.", the vampire told his consort.

"Maybe he's one of her dolls.", Dru suggested. "Pets, dear, pets. When a doll walks around, it's called a 'pet'. Maybe if you remembered that, your pets wouldn't die when you forget to feed them.", Spike told her. Dru whimpered instantly. "Goddammit. I'm sorry Dru. It's just that Angelus was s'pposed ta have done a quick reconnasince of this witch situation. Not only haven't we've seen hide nor hair of him, but Luscius told me he saw your Angel with the Slayer. Again."

Spike started turning the wheel chair around, only to be stopped by a leather clad leg. "Your Luscius is right, I have been seen with Buffy. Again.", Angelus told him. "Well what the hell man?! Are you soul boy, or are you the damned danger we're thinking you are?!", Spike snapped at the standing vampire. Dru started carressing Spike's face, attempting to get him calmer.

"Look, Indy 499 and a half.", Angelus started scolding. "Buffy's not just a Vampire Slayer, she goes after everything that has magic in it. I know, I've seen her do it." Spike's expression turned to a picture of a light bulb clicking. Angelus continued.

"Now we both know that Buffy's not the best Slayer on her own merit alone, but she has freinds. Those freinds are her strength...or her downfall. When I got to the school library, her freinds were already preparing her to face Catherine."

So I offered my...services.", Angelus said. "In exchange for what?", Spike said. "I mean, you have to have offered them something." Angelus laughed. "Can you believe that you're the first to ask me why?", he said to the disabled vampire. "They're so happy to have me back in the fold that they're willing to suspend the fact that I'm not one of them anymore.

"But think about it. I'm now in the right spot to not only make sure Catherine rises, and that I'll get to her first, but that the Slayer and all her little freinds die in the proccess."

Angelus started walking off. "Soon you'll be walking again, Dru will be sane, and I will have the Slayer.", the vampire told his sired. "So what do we do while you're off lying to anyone that'll hear you?", Spike asked. "Well, if Dru can't entertain you anymore, perhaps you might want me to...work with her a bit...?", Angelus suggested. Spike snorted and turned the wheel chair in the opposite direction from Angelus' voice and started into the darkness himself. With Dru in HIS chair.

Buffy found that she had backed into a tree. She-Mantis seemed to remember that Buffy was the one that had dismembered it, and had assumed that it was her that killed She-Mantis' eggs. She-Mantis reared on her hind legs again and lashed her forward four out at Buffy. The Slayer blocked both upper ones and kicked She-Mantis' left middle leg away from her, but took a kick...punch...kick...kinch(?) to the stomach. Buffy doubled over, and She-Mantis brough down both front legs onto Buffy's back, and the Slayer was on her hands and kness. The monster clutched both claws together, and uppercutted Buffy's head back into the tree that had prevented the Slayer's retreat. "Goddamit", Buffy exhaled softly. She-Mantis clicked her mandibles together in preperation for biting off her victim's head.

"Hey, is that an exoskeleton, or did the car alarm people just go hog wild on you?", Angelus asked with fangs bared. "Oh, what a lady killer.", She-Mantis said sarcastically while turning to face him. "Actually, I was aquited after a few well placed threats.", the vampire quipped back. Buffy attempted to regain her feet, but She-Mantis kicked backwards similar to a horse and Buffy was entirely unconcious.

She-Mantis charged Angelus and swung a hard right, intending to rip the vampire's head off. Angelus swung his own right arm in a large arc, passing She-Mantis' limb over his head. Angelus stopped her forward motion with a knee to her thorax (chest). The vampire brought both fists down on the same spot on She-Mantis' exoskeleton. The monster...er, the female one, grabbed and lifted Angelus into the air.

Buffy struggled herself back to conciousness. This time a fast thrown vampire knocked into her head and turned the lights back out. Angelus recovered quickly and matched She-Mantis' charge. Being lighter, Angelus ran just to the left of She-Mantis and stuck out one taloned hand while passing. The claw caught in the same spot he had weakened, and Angelus tore away a peice of She-Mantis' exoskeleton.

She-Mantis roared. Angelus ran up and kicked the leg under the openning in her shell back to bring her down to his height. She-Mantis roared. The vampire grabbed the twitching head, and ripped it off She-Mantis' neck. The throat of the beast expelled air, and the mouth of the head move back and forth. "Can't you see that roaring doesn't help?", Angelus asked the still moving head. Then he kicked it as hard as he could, not knowing where it would land.

Then he was scared. She-Mantis' body had fallen directly on him, and the limbs instinctively twitched all around him. Some acted as though they wanted to slash him, others only to crunch him. Angelus quickly struggled his way free. When the vampire turned back, the body was still twitching on the ground, trying to walk without benefit of a brain.

Angelus walked up to where the Slayer layed helpless on the ground. Any vampire with half a brain could drink from her. "I love watching her sleep.", Angelus said to himself. Then he picked Buffy up, and carried the unconcious Slayer off.

Giles walked out to his car in the parking lot. "I don't believe those mice! Making freinds with Druscilla and Spike.", the librarian mumbled. "I shouldn't have let them sleep in the library. They'll probably tear up the place looking for a coloring book for Pinky.", he continued. "Well at least it's not snowing.", he attempted.

Then a giant praying mantis head fell out of the sky and bounced off the hood of his car. "Goddammit.", the Watcher muttered as he turned back to the Library to research incidences of giant insect heads falling out of the sky.

Buffy was still groggy when she woke up. She barely became aware that her only cover of modesty was a sheet from Angel's bed, and that Angelus was holding her while they sat on the bed. "I had to remove some things to clean out and bandage some of the slashes.", the vampire explained. "Oh.", commented a seemingly disinterested Buffy. The Slayer leaned into her former boy-freind more closly.

"Why did you come back?", Buffy asked him, eyes shut in an attempt to block out who he was...who he really was. "I didn't.", Angelus answered. "Spike and Dru were intent on using Catherine to get him out of the chair, and come after you." Angelus lifted Buffy's head from his shoulder to just in front of his face. "You belong to no one but me. No matter who I am, soul or no soul, you're mine. You always have been.", the vampire told the girl.

"Spike's not going to have you. The new She-Mantis couldn't have you. I am the only thing in your world.", he concluded. Buffy nodded absent mindedly. "And as I see it," Angelus began again. "You owe me. I didn't have to save your life tonight. I'm going against Spike in even being with you. And now I want you to do something for me."

But Buffy was already dreaming. It was a pleasant dream, but one she didn't truly wake up from after that last blow from She-Mantis. "Mmm, Angel.", the Slayer purred. "That's right Buffy.", Angelus said hungrily. "Lay back. Lay down with me."

The vampire guided the dazed Buffy so that they were side by side, cupped together. He waited for her to reach an arm around him. Then he pulled her sheet over himself, and did what vampires do best.

Force themselves on people.
