Stripped: There’s Nothing Like a Good Slay, New York City

Kennedy had a bounce in her step and a grin on her face as she headed home that night. Nothing like a night slaying to lift your spirits, she thought happily. She was exhilarated by the night’s activities. The group had met several other small bands of vampires on their way around the park that evening, which they had all dusted no problem. Susie was a worrier, like nothing Kennedy had seen before. She fought like there was nothing else in the world better or more important. Ilya’s holy water spell had been exceedingly helpful and Charlotte held her own fighting side by side with Kennedy. They were really the perfect fighting team. Kennedy’s speed and cunning with Charlotte’s ingenuity and flexibility, made them unstoppable. Without even having to discuss it they had teamed up and together they held the dusting record for the evening.

Kennedy made it home in what seemed like no time at all. Opening the front door she found Willow asleep on the couch. She always waits up, Kennedy thought with a smile. Walking over to her girl she noticed the small piles of tissues and Willow’s tear stained face. The sight made her heart break. What had she done to her sweet angel, leaving like she had?

“Willow, baby,” she said, bending down and shaking Willow gently. “I’m home sweetie.”

“Kennedy?” Willow asked, looking up hopefully into her lover’s eyes. “You’re home. You came back,” she said thankfully.

“Of course I came back,” Kennedy said, her heart breaking. “Willow, I’m so sorry about before. I will always come back,” she stated. “I’m never, ever, going to leave. I couldn’t. You are intertwined in everything I am; I couldn’t survive without you.” She scooped Willow into her arms holding her tightly to her.

Willow held onto Kennedy like her life depended on it. She began to cry. “No, I’m sorry, I never should have said those things to you. I thought you were gone forever.” Her body began to shake with heavy sobs.

“Shh, baby, shhh,” Kennedy soothed. “I’m back. I’ll never leave. I’m so sorry.” She couldn’t stand to see her girl like this. She would give anything to take away the pain she caused. She rocked Willow, whispering gently into her ear until her crying began to subside. Pulling back slightly, Kennedy took Willow’s face in her hand and kissed her tenderly. “I love you.”

Willow looked up at Kennedy with her tear stained eyes. “I love you too,” she said, coming in for another kiss. The two sat there kissing, finding comfort and safety in each other’s arms and lips. Suddenly, Kennedy flew across the room.

“What was that?” Kennedy exclaimed, annoyed by the lack of contact with her Willow. She immediately got to her feet and looked for signs of the attacker, her eyes falling on Willow. She was standing, looking around the room with frightened eyes. Oh no, thought Kennedy, Please not again, not so soon.

“Willow!” Kennedy shouted running over to her girl. “Okay, we can do this. Stay calm, baby.” She put her hands up and slowly inched towards Willow.

“NO!” Willow shouted. She lunged at Kennedy, picked her up and threw her across the room.

Kennedy was shocked. What just happened? Since when could Willow pick me up, let alone throw me? Did she use magick? It didn’t leave the sting a migickal blast left. Ok, what the hell is going on?

Kennedy stood up and looked back at Willow. She saw her standing again, frightened, eyes frantically looking from side to side, waiting for an attack. Suddenly, Willow went running out of the room.

Kennedy stormed after her, catching up with her quickly and throwing herself at Willow. Kennedy caught her and the two went tumbling to the ground. Willow began to thrash with strength Kennedy had never felt from her before tonight. I can’t hold her! What the hell am I supposed to do! She thought frantically.

“Let me go, you beast! You don’t know who you’re dealing with!” Willow said in a voice that was not hers. Her eyes were a vibrant blue. “I told you before, not to mess with me! My friends will be here soon, and then you’ll be dust!”

“Dust?” Kennedy asked still using all her strength to force the redhead into the floor.

Then, Willow screamed a blood curdling scream and the life left her body.

“Baby!” Kennedy said, concerned. This wasn’t like the normal attacks. Why were they getting worse? “Willow, please, not again!” Kennedy leaned in to check the redheads breathing. Thank god, she was still breathing. She leaned down and scooped Willow into her arms.
Kennedy’s eyes stung with unshed tears. She couldn’t remember the last time she had cried. She could remember skinning her knee when she was five. Her father had told her that if she insisted on crying every time something bad happened to her she may as well admit defeat. A winner never cried. Five-year-old Kennedy wanted so desperately for her father to be proud of her she trained herself not to cry, no matter what. But now as she held Willow’s unconscious body in her arms, she sobbed. Her tears fell in giant wrenching waves, all the years of frustration of not being able to heal Willow came pouring out. Kennedy let it all out, but not for long. After a few minutes she was able to pull herself together. She picked up Willow’s limp form and carried her to their bedroom, laying her girl on the bed, kissing her softly on the forehead.

“There now baby, rest.” She brushed some stray hairs out of Willows eyes. Willow didn’t stir. “Things will be better in the morning.”

A girl of about seventeen ran through the streets of Buenos Ares. Something was chasing her. She glanced nervously when another creature jumped in front of her, grabbing onto her.

“No!” she shouted, picking him up and throwing him into the wall of a nearby building.

She kept running, but the creatures chasing her were fast. They overtook her. She tried to fight them off with all her slayer strength.

“Let me go, you beast! You don’t know who you’re dealing with!” she said, frantic to get away. “I told you before, not to mess with me! My friends will be here soon, and then you’ll be dust!”

“They may come but they will be too late to save this slayer,” the creature said, bearing his fangs and sinking them into her neck.

She let out a blood-curdling scream as the blood was drained from her body. She tried to fight but there was no time. The creature sucked out her life till she was limp in his hands.
