EXT. LAMASERY ROCK GARDEN

Loki, Jordy and the Monks sit on a green patch of
grass in front of the Rock garden. The monks are
chanting quietly, but their beautiful voices
convey a mood that is quiet and introspective.
Everyone has their eyes closed.

LOKI
You aren't concentrating.

JORDY
I'm not used to the mass-chanting.

LOKI
You are getting lost in the sunyata.
Concentrate.

They are quiet for a moment.

JORDY
So where did you get the name Loki?

LOKI
(sighs)
Long story.

JORDY
Is it from that song?

LOKI
Song?

JORDY
Yeah...
(sings)
My name is Loki...
I live on the second floor...

Loki sighs and shakes his head.

LOKI
That's Luka. Not Loki.

Jordy opens his eyes and smiles at Loki.

JORDY
Maybe Suzanne Vega wrote it for you but
changed the name to protect the
innocent.

Loki turns and gives Jordy a knowing look.

LOKI
When was the last time you reached your
nirmana-kaya?

Jordy says nothing. Loki returns to his meditative
position.

LOKI
How long?

JORDY
Couple of weeks.

LOKI
Hence the unbalance.

JORDY
It... It was easy at first, but it
became more and more difficult.

LOKI
Hmmm. Diet?

JORDY
Vegetarian.

LOKI
Booze?

JORDY
I'm seventeen.

LOKI
Uh-huh. Right. Booze?

JORDY
None.

LOKI
Sex?

Jordy's eyes pop open.

JORDY
Sex? Oz didn't say anything about giving
up-

LOKI
Neither did I.  Close your eyes. Sex?

Jordy sighs and closes his eyes.

JORDY
Not yet.

LOKI
The Epanis potion?

JORDY
The what?

LOKI
The feet drink.

JORDY
Daily. More than daily when I started
having problems, but it just seemed to
make it worse.

Loki arches an eyebrow at Jordy's last comment.

LOKI
Hmmm...

Jordy's eyes snap open.

JORDY
Do you think that-

LOKI
Shhh.... concentrate.

Jordy shuts up and closes his eyes. The monks
continue to chant. Jordy sits and listens. Then he
begins to chant in the same tune as the monks.

JORDY
(chanting)
I live upstairs from you...
Yes, I think you've seen me before.

Loki opens his eyes and looks upward with the
typical "Why me?" expression on his face.

JORDY
(chanting)
If you hear something late at night...
Some kind of trouble some kind of fight...

Loki shrugs and joins in...

LOKI & JORDY
(chanting)
Just don't ask me what it was...
Just don't ask me what it was...
Just don't ask me what it was...
