Finally Spoken: chapter 1

by Spikes Queen

Spike busted though the front door of the Summers house. “Dawn! Buffy!” He yelled. There was a raging blizzard outside, which was weird, since it was southern California.

Dawn came from upstairs in 4 different layers of clothes. “Spike,” she said. “I don’t know where Buffy is! She left to go somewhere and she’s been gone for hours,” Dawn cried frantically.

“Are you okay?” Spike asked.

Dawn nodded.

“Okay. I’m gunna go find your sis. Don’t go anywhere,” Spike said, going back out into the blizzard.

Spike ran to his crypt but the door was frozen shut. “Damn it!” He flared, and managed to get in a sewer entrance.

It took him about 3 minutes to get to the lower level and Buffy was huddled on his bed, frozen. “Buffy!”

Buffy looked up at him. “S-Spike,” she whimpered through chattering teeth.

Spike stripped off his coat and threw it over her. He grabbed a shorted one to put on and scooped Buffy up. “Lets get you home,” he said, leaving the crypt.

“I’m so cold,” Buffy shivered.

“Why were you at my place?” Spike asked, rushing to Dawn.

“I wanted to make sure you were okay. You weren’t there and I waited for a few minutes. T-then the door wouldn’t open,” Buffy said, trembling violently.

Spike got to the house and took Buffy upstairs. “Nibblet!”

Dawn came in. “Oh my god, Buffy!”

Spike looked at her. “Dawn, find her warm clothes and blankets. “He said, gently.

Dawn nodded and disappeared to find Buffy warm clothes. When she came back with her clothes, she left Spike to tend to her.

Spike took the clothes and quickly put them on her. “Buffy, can you feel anything?”

Buffy nodded. “Yeah. Still cold.”

“Dawn!” Spike called.

“Yeah?” Dawn asked, coming in.

“You lay in bed with Buffy so we can keep all the warmth in one bed,” Spike said, going to get the blankets off the rest of the beds. Once the girls were snug in bed, he called Giles.

“Hello?” Giles asked.

“It’s Spike. You snowed in?” Spike asked.

“Yes. Where are you?” Giles asked.

“Buffy’s. Where’s Red?”

“They are all snowed in at Xander’s,” Giles said. “But they’re fine. How are the girls?”

“Cold, but they’re fine,” Spike said, rubbing a hand through his hair.

After they said their goodbyes they hung up.

Spike turned all the lights off and locked the doors. He went upstairs and found Buffy still awake but Dawn sound asleep.

“Spike?” She asked softly.

“Yeah, Pet?” Spike asked, looking at her.

“You’ve got to be cold. Get over her and get warm,” Buffy said, looking at the spot next to her.

Spike took off his boots and jacket before climbing in next to her. He spooned against her back and kissed her hair. “Get some sleep pet,” he whispered.

Spike began to purr and soon they were both a sleep.
