Who's afraid...?: 23.6.801

A cottage in Anders’ Woods, England, held a terrible secret. Its previous occupants were all dead. Now, Drusilla was returning ‘home’ to discover an unwelcome visitor.
Curled up in the bed her and Spike shared, snug between the blood-stained sheets, her guest grinned at her menacingly, and drooled.

Dru cocked her head at the demon. “My, what big teeth you ‘ave,” she said.

The demon just gave a low growl.
“Would you like a heart?” Dru’ asked it. She reached into the basket she had slung over her shoulder and produced a fresh human heart. “I harvested them just today, for grand-mummy.” The colour of her shawl could attest to that. “She’s been staying with us.” Her gaze went somewhere far away. “But I think she’s left us now.”

“Yer damn right she has.” Spike kicked the door down and strutted in. “Buggered off with Angel hasn’t she? Who ya talkin’ to any…hoo?” He spotted the demon in their bed. “Hello.”

At the sight of Spike the demon began to writhe about and thrash its green tentacles all about. I blob of green ooze flew in Spike’s eye.

“Ow!” he said. “Bloody hell!”

“Where have you been, Spike?” Dru asked. “I was all a-frettin’”

Spike wiped the gunk from his eye. “I was out. Cutting wood.” He showed her his axe and tested the weight of it in his hands. He frowned. “can’t think why though.” He pointed his axe at the demon. “What’s that when its at… anywhere?”

Dru’ turned to him, the heart in her hand still spurting blood. It spattered on the floor, leaving little red rose-petal marks, that quickly turned black as death. “Don’t know. It was here waiting when I got home. Maybe it could join us tonight?” She grinned precociously. “Those tentacles could come in handy you know.”

Spike glowered. “Not bloody likely, pet.”

The demon flung out a tentacle at Dru and grabbed her by the waist, no doubt entrigued by her idea. She struggled, but it wouldn’t let go.

Spike strode over to the Frovlax, or whatever the hell it was, and planted his axe square in the middle of its… head / body / brain / thing. It twitched, and died, and its tentacle let go of Dru. She wagged her finger at it.

“Bad wolf,” she said.
