Chance Meeting: Prologue

Author's Note: This is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Xena Warrior Princess crossover. Xena and Gabrielle have just finished their adventure and are in the woods.

Xena and Gabrielle are walking in the forest with Argo when Xena hears something and they stop.

Xena: Shh.(looking around )

Xena pulls out her sword and Gabrielle readys her staff. All of a sudden about 15 men jump out of the bushes and from behind trees. Xena pats Argo and the horse gallops off.

One of the men charges Xena with his sword out. Xena knocks the sword away with her own. Another man charges Gabrielle and then all of the men get into the action. Xena and Gabrielle fight them off but they are surrounded. They have no where to go and there are too many trees for Xena's chakram.

Gabrielle: Xena! Use your chakram!

Xena: I can't! There are too many trees!

Gabrielle: But we're surrounded! There are too many of them!

Suddenly a swirling votex opens next to Xena and Gabrielle. They look at it, then back at each other.

Xena:(looking at the vortex then back at Gabrielle ) It's our only chance!

Gabrielle:(looking at the vortex then back at Xena ) But we don't know where we'll end up!

Xena: We've got nothing to lose! Would you rather die?!

Gabrielle: Good point.

Xena puts her sword in place on her back, secures her chakram, and jumps into the vortex. Gabrielle grabs her staff and jumps into the vortex after Xena. The vortex swirls and closes behind them.
