Tales Unknown: Hidden Lies

by Tslayer

Dawn walked silently out of the cemetary and made her way back to the hotel, still cradling her arm. Her thoughts drifted to the events that had occured and unconciously she began to look at the ring Connor had given her.

She slowly opened the gate out of the cemetary and walked down the dark streets. She passed by bars, where she heard the sounds of the bar fights and the whistling of the men who were groping at the barmaids, then the smack across the face for the rud comments. She had heard it all before, every night. It never changed.

Her boots clacked against the cement as she traveled the streets. She looked up at the sky as she felt a drop of water land on her bare shoulder. Suddenly it began to pour. She kept walking at her normal pace, enjoying the rain but begining to shiver from the coolness of it on her skin.

" What'cha doin' out here at this time of night, in this type of weather Niblit?" Asked a familiar voice with a heavy english accent.

" Why do you care Spike?" She asked as she continued to walk.

Soon Spike had fallen in step with her. He draped his leather duster over her shoulders when he noticed her shivering. She looked up at him with a 'thank you' look on her face.

" No problem, pet. "He said smiling.

He walked with her until they reached the hotel.
" I don't think I really want to see the poofter today. I'll talk to you later. " Before he could go Dawn handed him his leather duster and he left, disappearing like the others into the night.

She began the finishing streach to the hotel when she noticed the big L.A. hospital sign. She then changed her course and started towards it, going to check on Willow.

When she stepped into the hospital, she found the front desk and asked for Willow Rosenburg's room. She walked down the hall her arm unnoticed by the nurses who were to busy with other things. She looked at the number the receptionist had given her and then looked up at the door number 314.

She opened the door and walked past the empty bed to the other one behind the curtain. She slid back the white cotton and sat in the chair that was next to Willow's bed.

" Hey, Will." She said smiling at the redhead who was bandaged and bruised all over the place.

" Dawnie." She whispered, her voice sounded hoarse.

" How ya feelin'?" She asked her

" Better, what happened to your arm?" She asked as she noticed Dawn's arm was bruised and oddly shaped.

" Slaying. " She said simply." But don't worry about me, I'll be fine, you need to work on recovering. " She brushed a peice of fire red hair from Willow's face and smiled.

" I do worry Dawnie. I mean, there are bad things out there, cars, monsters, demons , vampires. Your like my little sister, it's okay if you have two big sisters right?" She asked her face contorted in confusion, and worry.

" Yes, I can have as many big sisters as possible." She said smiling. " You need to rest. Close your eyes, and sleep. "

Just then the doctor entered the room. " I'm sorry." Said a soft female voice from behind her. " But visting hours end in a couple minutes, and Ms. Rosenberg needs her rest. So I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
