When good girls go bad: Nightmare

A/N: This is the edited version...cuz trust me it needed it! Please review!

Readers beware. The story of Katherine and Connor is not a light one. It’s a nightmare that was real. You cannot expect a happy ending to a story like this. In fact this is a never-ending story. It’s a take of a love that was lost. Some say this love is forever and can never be repeated. Hence the name of the tale Forever Love.

Giles put down the book and sipped his tea. He had found it in his stacks of books that were in the closet. He had been looking for a book on 18th century literature but had found this instead. It was quite interesting. He had heard the story before but never really paid much attention to it. Most people said it was a myth, but then again most of the things on the hellmouth were supposedly “myths” too. He was just about to return to his book when an urgent knock on the door startled him.

He went to the door and opened it only to be greeted by three startled teenagers.

“What happened?” he asked quickly. In response to the question he got three teenagers rushing toward the door at once and speaking all at once.

“One at a time.” Giles heard himself say and looked to Willow as if that was the signal that she could talk.

“Scary demon girl…Buffy…vision…bloody tears.” Willow managed to spit out between deep breaths.

“What?” he asked and Xander put up a hand.

“We were at the Bronze and I guess we got scared so we go to the cemetery because we thought Buffy was hurt-.”

“Scared of what?” Giles asked.

“Just scared.” Willow told him. “Really scared.”

“Ok and…?” Giles prompted.

“We get to the cemetery and pass out and we dream or something and there’s this girl with bloody tears who was changing faces. So she tells us we can’t save her…we think the her is Buffy.” Xander said.

“Then we wake up.” Oz finished.

“We think Buffy is in big trouble.” Willow told Giles and took a deep breath.

“Katrina, calm down” the old vamp told her.

“You should be happy I didn’t kill her!” Katrina exclaimed.

“Yes I should but you could’ve gotten yourself killed.” The old vampire tried to reason with the other vampire.

“Not really…she was in a dream state remember?” Katrina said her arms folded, as she was getting impatient.

“You said you had to break through some barriers?”

“Yes.” Katrina answered.

“Someone’s protecting her.” The old guy said rubbing his beard as if thinking.

“No…I don’t think so.” She said moving over to the mirror in the living room of the apartment she had “stolen”. She smoothed her black shirt over and tried putting her hair in different styles. She really loved this body.

“Don’t try it again.” He warned.

“No, but I do know this.”

“What?” Katrina asked sitting down on the couch.

“They are finding things out, collecting information.”

“They know its me?” Katrina asked.

“No, but the Watcher,” the old man flinched when he heard spoke the word. “Is putting it together, he’ll figure it out soon.”

“Okay…but who is they?” Katrina asked putting her hands on her hips and scanning the old face.

“Her friends, family.”

Katrina’s eyes widened. “No way, those were the intruders?”

“Way.” The old guy said in a bored tone.

“Oh this is going to be fun!” Katrina said with an evil grin as she took her favorite sword out of the weapon’s chest.

“Where are you going?” the old vamp called after her urgently as Katrina ran toward the door.

“Doing what they did to me.” Katrina answered back to him and smiled.

Katrina carried the sword remembering when she was forced to use it. She remembered running him through with it. She remembered the tears. She wondered what the Slayer’s story was. Hate combined with sympathy rose up in Katrina as she thought of the things the Slayer and her had in common.

She took a swing with her sword. The she stopped a breeze passing over her.

“Katharine” A voice cooed.

She stopped dead. He was here. She picked up her sword and glanced around for him.

“Where are you?” She hissed.

“You and the Slayer have a lot in common.” The voice said.

Katrina glanced around and gripped her sword tightly. She tensed knowing he was right in front of her. She went to take a swing.

As she swung, the sword stopped dead in the air. “Katherine what did I teach you, no swinging recklessly.” Then a man appeared in thin air and she gasped. It was just as she remembered him.

He took a quick glance at her, up and down and smiled. “Nice choice of a body.”

She ignored him. She went to take another swing. Once again he stopped her, but not with his hands but with the smart-ass look on his face.

“Calm down, I just want to talk.” He said.

She dropped the sword to her side but didn’t let her guard down.

“What do you know?” he asked her.

She narrowed her eyes at him. “What do I know? What the hell do you mean?”

“About her story.”

“She’s a Slayer and she and Angelus have a forever love.” She told him impatiently.

“What does she know?” He asked his dark eyes staying on her face.

“Why would she know anything?” Katrina asked quickly.

“Does she know that your doing this to her? Does she know that you have a connection not only with this forever love but with being a Slayer too?”

“Why would that be important?” Katrina spat.

“Good, you don’t know.” He quickly muttered.

“What the hell? What are you planning?” she asked picking up her sword.

He waved a hand and the sword that she was slowly raising dropped and she found herself not being able to move.

A thousand curses in all the languages she knew came out then and all he did was smirk.

He slowly moved closer to her. When he was inches away he reached out and cupped her chin in his hand. “Katharine my dear, you have so much to learn. Close your eyes.”

Her eyes widened at his last words. “No.”

He then slowly put his hands up to her eyes and closed them. Then he muttered something and Katrina screamed. She felt like she was being ripped apart. With a flash of light Katrina was no longer standing where she had been.

Where she had been standing dust floated down to the ground.

The ambulance ride was short. It took them about ten minutes to get to the hospital and to get Buffy on a stretcher. That was the last Angel had seen of her. He now sat down in one of those crapy hospital chairs and waited. He had tried calling Giles twice and no one answered. He had paced around the hallway for a while but that just made him want to hit something even more. So he settled for sitting down. He had been here in the hallway for at least twenty minutes and nobody came to say something to him. He had already asked a nurse about Buffy but she hadn’t given him an answer.

He was getting worried, more than worried. If Buffy was fine they would come out and say something…and if she wasn’t they wouldn’t, right? Or maybe it was the other way around. He was just about to go and call Giles again when some tall looking guy with a goatee and a leather jacket on came by. Angel knew right away he was a vampire. But before Angel could get up and stop him or ask him what he was doing here he passed out.

And before he knew it he was dreaming…

“We cannot save her.” Came a voice standing in front of Angel. He opened his eyes to see that the voice came from Willow. She was talking to Giles and Xander.

“He’s awake.” Xander said to Giles as he took out a stake.

Xander gave Angel a look that made Angel wonder if he still had his soul. “Guys, Buffy’s here she-.”

“We know what you did…we know what you caused and what will happen.” Willow spat as Xander handed her a stake. She took it and squeezed it when she gave the stake to Giles Angel saw that he hands were bleeding, so were Xander’s.

“It’s a simple ritual.” Giles told him and took the stake and did the same thing as Willow had just done. “She’s dead, so you’ll die too, you can’t believe that you have a forever love.”

Angel’s eyes narrowed. “Giles, what do you mean? She’s fine; she’s got to be fine. What’s a forever love?”

Giles was just about to stake him when someone appeared next to him. It was a man no older then about twenty-two. He seemed to pay no attention to Giles or the others he just put a hand on Angel’s shoulder and said. “We have to save them.”

Angel woke up. He was shaking; he looked around for the man. “Save them?” he asked.

The vampire Nicholas stood outside the door of the room that the Slayer was in. Machines were hooked up to her and a couple of men and women were keeping busy around the room. He closed his eyes and willed himself to become invisible and when he was sure it worked he walked into the room and past the nurses and walked right over to the slayer. Quietly he muttered a few words and placed a hand on her head. She screamed. A machine next to her bedside started to beep and a red light on another machine went on. Smiling and invisible he walked out.

Angel got up to call Giles again. The dream he just had was weird but for some reason he ignored it, he’d think about the dream later. He once again didn’t reach him but as he turned around he found himself staring at Willow.

“The hospital called us.” Willow said to him and he nodded. He was about to tell Giles and the others what had happened when he heard a scream come from down the hall. Without realizing what he was doing he ran down to were he heard the scream, pleading with whatever god would listen that that wasn’t Buffy’s room.

It wasn’t until he was a few steps to the doorway that he noticed the others had followed him, Xander, Willow, Oz, and Giles.

Angel walked closer to the door while pushing past one or two nurses. As he was just about to reach the doorway a doctor stopped him. “Who are you?” he asked stressfully.

“Is Buffy Summers in there?” Giles asked quickly.

The man paled. “Are you her family?”

“Yes.” Giles quickly said.

“She’s-.” he stopped, then hearing a shout down the hall ran away without saying a word.

Angel was the first one to get into the room. No one was in there. Angel quickly went to Buffy’s side. Only to see that she was pale and as he felt her she was ice cold. He looked around at the room quickly to see that one of the machines showed a flat line.

He looked at Giles, speechless. He dropped down on his knees, weight above them being too much, as they buckled. He quickly checked her pulse. He looked at Giles again who was inching, ever so slowly, closer to Buffy. Giles face was pale and he was taking deep breaths. Willow who was next to Oz, lips started quivering and Xander had an odd expression on his face as if he was trying to wake up from this nightmare.

“She’s dead.”
