The End: Normal Again
by Rougue_Slayer
A/N: It is kind of hard to sum uo the end of a battle. This will be my last chapter of this story. A sequel will be in the mix though. I just wanted to leave the crowd with some sense of finality with how Angel really did end. In my mind. Thanks for being suppotive and reviewing..
Illyria was the first to break the silence. "Is the battle over?" she asked a sad note in her voice. She was upset it had to end so fast.
"I think so." Angel walked over to where Willow had passed out on Oz's lap. Is she going to be alright?" He asked worried.
"I think so. I just need to get her to her coven. They’ll make sure she can heal from this. That last spell...It took a lot out of her. I have faith in Willow, but I honestly did not think she would make it. I'm proud of her."
He pulled a loose strand out of her eyes. Barely conscious, Willow smiled at him. Angel walked over and knelt beside her.
"I owe you one." He said grabbing her hand.
"No biggie. Buffy would kill me if I let you die. It's bad enough she hid in the closet when you and Spike came to her apartment looking for her, but now the immortal duped her..."
"She hid--" Angel sputtered while Spike said,” That bloody bastard dumped her?"
"I hate to break this up but I need to get Willow out of here." Oz said looking at Willow. She seemed to be getting weaker by the second.
"How are you going to get her to England?" Conner asked concerned for the brave witch. "More magick?"
"Yeah. I don't like using it but when it comes to Willow, anything goes." He pulled a small leather pouch out of
his pants. What was left of them, anyway.
"How did you two get back together?" Spike asked curiously.
"She needed me for a favor. It kinda fell into place after that." He spread out the contents of the bag onto the ground around him, Willow, and then himself. He helped Willow to her feet and said."Good luck you guys."
Angel walked up to Willow and gave her a quick hug. She seemed almost fragile. Illyria walked up to her and touched her face. Everyone was shocked at her affection for Willow. Especially since she barely knew her.
"You are beyond the bravest human I have ever met through out my small time on this plane and among the most powerful being. Thank you for assisting us."
She turned around and walked away. She looked at Angel and said,"I will adapt. It's what he wanted." She tilted her neck back and shuddered.
Everyone watched in amazement as Illyria turned into Winifred Burkle. Smiling at them all happily she said,” See y'all later!" and with a small wave, Illyria walked away.
"Well that was bracing." Oz said calmly. Another moan came softly from Willow's lips. "We really should get going."
"Thanks Red. Tell Buffy to give me a call." And with that last comment, Spike headed in the dame direction Illyria had left for.
"I wouldn't be alive right now if it weren't for you. Look me up if you ever need a favor." Gunn walked past Angel and said,"I'm gonna make peace with my crew.
That's where I'll be if you need me. Try not to need me. They don't really like you."
Angel looked around at what was left of his crew. No one.
"Do you want to come with us?" Willow asked barely managing to stay conscious.
"That would be nice." Angel stepped into the circle and dumped the the rest of the powder on him.
"Let's go."
