Giles' House
Friday 9:42pm
Once again, Giles flicked through the Codex. There had to be an answer in there. As an ex-Watcher, the only contact that he had with the Council, was with his wife, Melinda, Janice's Watcher.
Not that Melinda had much to do with her Slayer anymore. Since 'the incident' six years earlier, the only time Janice and Melinda got together, was when a rather forceful evil came about. Not that that is much of an issue any longer, Giles thought. Not since Janice was confined to a wheelchair...
Janice didn't trust any Watcher, not after what had happened.
Something big was coming, now...
Melinda had informed the Council, that the other Slayer, Buffy's replacement's replacement, should venture to Sunnydale to aid them. It had been three days since they had stumbled upon the prophesy...

Giles' House
Tuesday 5:43pm
Giles had been sifting through his demonic volumes, trying to create a calendar of prophesized events for the next few years. He believed that this may aid them in their quest against evil. For seven months, he had been working on this...
Until...
In the eight years that pass
The Second Death of the Slayer,
Will come her family's resurrection.
With this, Death will rise.
In history, Death was known as the one who extinguished a person's life on a whim, no feeling.
First, he had to find out who the key people were.

The Present
It was Buffy and Angel. He was sure of it. Buffy was the only Slayer in history to have died twice. Angel was her family. That was all Giles could figure out.
Surely they know something...Giles argued with himself about journeying to the mansion and working things out, but wasn't sure about his reception.
Buffy and Angel had connections, far better ones than either he or the Council had. He'd try to get Melinda to have a chat with Janice.
The eighth anniversary of Buffy's death was in two days...
*~*~*~*
It was always a solemn time of year. Buffy would haunt the mansion, just wandering around, looking at things. This time, though, Erin and Liam were trying to keep their mother occupied...
"Hey, Mom!" yelled the twins.
Buffy looked up from the ice-cream she was scooping out of the tub. Now that she had substance again, her ice-cream addiction reared it's deliciously sweet head...
"What's up?"
Erin glared at her mother. Liam stared at her in disbelief.
Buffy let her shoulders droop. "Okay, I guess that I'm less than party-mom this time of year."
Both of her kids hugged her. "Don't worry, Mom. You have us and Dad and Aunt Janice," Liam whispered sympathetically.
"And you can't forget Uncle Spike!" Erin chided.
Buffy smiled. "No, I can't forget Spike," she agreed, then lowered her voice. "I've been trying for too long, already..."
"Well, that's not very nice, Slayer!" came Spike's amused voice.
They turned around to see Spike put Janice into one of the dining room chairs. "Hey, guys," the other Slayer greeted.
The twins went over to her and kissed her on the cheek. "Hey, Aunt Janice."
Spike looked around. "So, Slayer, where's the bloody Poof? Would have thought he'd be with ya."
Janice hit him upside the head, but not too hard. "Owwww! What was that for, Pet? It was only a bloody question!"
Janice glared at him in mock anger. "Don't be such an insensitive prick!"
Spike was about to make a retort, when everyone jerked around in surprise. Something was wrong...
Someone was trying to breach the barrier around the mansion...
Spike picked up Janice and the five of them headed into the main room, where Angel, too, was aware of the presence.
Spike gently placed Janice into her wheelchair and they all went to the main entrance...
*~*~*~*
Rupert Giles couldn't get inside the mansion. In fact, he couldn't even make it to the door. A forcefield of some kind was preventing him from approaching the mansion.
He stepped back as he spotted Spike's familiar figure in the doorway of the stone building. Giles could just make out Janice's wheelchair behind him.
Buffy and Angel were nowhere to be seen, but Giles was sure that they were around...
"What do you bloody want, Watcher?!?!" Spike snarled.
"Umm...I need to speak to Buffy and Angel, Spike. I need their help concerning a prophesy..." Giles stammered.
"Not bloody likely, Giles!" came Janice's infuriated voice. She'd been hanging around Spike way too much...! She was starting to act and speak like the vampire!
Behind them, in the shadows of the night, stood Buffy, Angel, Liam and Erin. They didn't want Giles to know that they were there, or that the children were the way they were.
Outside, Giles was trying to reason with Spike and Janice. "Please??? I need to speak to them! It's extremely imperative! Our very existence may depend upon it!"
Spike snorted. "Watcher, we have better information than you do, so we know about everything before hand. If this bloody thing of yours was so important, then we'd know about it by now! Now, get your ass off this property!" Spike threatened.
For someone in her condition, Janice was still reasonably intimidating. "You heard him, Giles. You can't get in here and if you don't leave now, Spike will come after you..."
Giles stiffened in indignation, but left quickly.
*~*~*~*
The group made their way back to the main room and sat down in the comfortable chairs and lounge. Buffy sat on Angel's lap, as did Janice in Spikes. Erin and Liam sat next to each other on the lounge.
Buffy was shaking visibly. Seeing Giles had just served to remind her of everything that had happened. Angel just ran his hand up and down her side, trying to calm her down.
"Maybe we should talk to Whistler, just in case," Janice suggested.
Buffy closed her eyes. "I agree. We don't know if this is important, but we should still try to find out, but we keep this to ourselves. We don't talk to them, we don't help them."
Angel cupped her cheek. "It's okay, Baby. We feel the same way about them. They can't come in or anything. But if something is wrong, then we can help Spike and so can Cordy, Doyle and Whistler."
"We'll make it," Spike whispered in a rare moment of sensitivity...
