Doyle rushed into Angel's basement, not pausing to think about what he might be interrupting...
Fortunately, the only thing he would interrupt, was sleep. He quietly stepped into the bedroom, the pity he felt, spreading across his features. It was too bad, he thought, that I'm gonna have ta disturb them...
He went over to where Angel slept and gently shook him. Angel's eyes opened drowsily, a smile lightening his features as he remembered why he was so damn tired...
"Buffy..." he whispered.
Doyle grinned, hating to disillusion the poor fella, "Nah, Angel, man. It's Doyle, we got ourselves a problem..."
Doyle went to wait in the other room when he saw Angel was awake enough to comprehend. Angel followed him after a couple of minutes. The man needed to get dressed...
Angel was still pulling on his jumper as he joined Doyle in the kitchen, looking back on Buffy every few seconds.
"Angel, man, we got a big problem. You're not the only one the Mohra regenerated, it also regenerated itself."
Angel immediately took charge, "Okay, let's go." And started to take off.
Doyle stopped him, "Don't we need a bit of help...of the supernatural kind?" he asked, indicating Buffy's still sleeping form.
Angel looked back on her one last time before leading Doyle back upstairs, "No, just let her sleep." It may be the last peaceful one she has for a while, he sighed regretfully...

Buffy awoke feeling satisfied, but extremely lonely. Angel wasn't in bed next to her, and his side of the bed was cold. He had been gone a while. She got up out of bed and stretched, grinning all the while.
Last night had been fantastic! She couldn't remember ever feeling as loved and desired as she had been last night...
She had been hoping to find Angel still beside her when she awoke, but he didn't seem to be around...
He's probably upstairs, she thought.
Buffy put on some clothes, then headed upstairs, to where she found Cordelia labeling the furniture and office equipment.
Buffy paused in the doorway. "Hello," she was still puzzled by Cordelia's actions. "What are you doing?"
Cordelia continued her labeling while venting her anger at Buffy. "Well, now that you and the boss have decide to do that special horizontal activity that usually results in everyone being killed, but this time won't, I'm naturally out of a job! You couldn't stop thinking of yourselves for once, could you? What about me?!?! Did you ever stop to think about what this could mean for me? He'll probably go back to Sunnydale and live out his precious mortal life with you, and I'll be stuck here with no job! Argh!"
Buffy didn't pay much attention to her little rant. Typical Cordelia...she thought. Everything was about her. Oh, well. "Cordelia, have you seen Angel?"
Cordelia stiffened. "He and Doyle are taking care of some business. Some of us still have to work."
Buffy sighed, "Cordelia, where did they go...?"
Cordelia gave in. She didn't want to see Angel or Doyle hurt, and she knew that they would need some help eventually, especially with Angel being human. "They went after the Mohra demon, it came back to life...

It suddenly all came back to Buffy. The dream. Last night, while lying in Angel's arms, she had dreamt of something like this. Angel was being beaten by the demon, but just like her earlier dreams of the Master, a book cover jumped out at her...
Buffy thought about what the book was, and who would have it... "Cordelia, where does Angel keep his demonic chronicles...?"
Cordelia just looked at her, confused.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Buffy carefully looked through the book that had haunted her dreams. Then she saw the sketch of the demon that she and Angel had fought. She very slowly read through the information regarding the demon, letting it all sink into her brain. A plan began to take shape...
She knew that Angel wouldn't be able to fight it alone, especially as a human. When he realized that fact, he'd more than likely go to the Powers That Be and ask for his vampirism back. Or something like that.
The text began to make sense...so did something else. She ran to the kitchen and found a large flask-type container, packing it into her bag and running out the door and off to where Cordelia had said Angel and Doyle would be...
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Angel and Doyle weren't having any luck with the demon. Doyle had long since been knock out, when the Mohra had thrown him against the wall. Angel himself wasn't faring much better. He had several cuts on his now-mortal body and was exhausted, almost to the point of collapse.
Then all of a sudden, Buffy was there...fighting the demon, driving it back. She knocked it to the floor. It didn't get up. Then Buffy did something strange...
She took the demon's sword and severed it's hand from its arm. She pulled an object out from the bag that Angel never noticed she had been wearing on her back...
She captured the blood of the demon in the container she had brought with her. Then Buffy put the container away and went to see how Angel and Doyle were coping.
Then she took them home...

She aided Angel in getting into the bed. Buffy had left Doyle in Cordelia's capable hands...
Angel groaned as Buffy tucked him in. The last person to do that had been his mother, over two centuries ago...
Buffy smiled gently. If she was correct in her theory, she would give Angel something that he would be eternally grateful for. She got into the bed next to him and just held him until he fell asleep, then she got up and went to visit a couple of immortal beings...

"What is it you ask, Warrior?" Asked the female Oracle.
The male glanced at her quizzically, "Yes, you speak in riddles. What is of your thoughts can be of an aid, but what of the other Warrior?"
Buffy scoffed, And they thought she was strange...
"I just want to know if it will disrupt some kind of destiny thing. Will my doing this, affect the world in the future?"
The Oracles paused, as if pondering her question. "The Powers say not. What is proposed is only beneficial to all that is good when it comes to the End Of Days and all other, future evils..."
Buffy could have sworn that they smiled, but just as quickly as she had entered, she was cast out of their realm.
She grinned with absolute happiness. Angel would get more than his redemption...

Buffy quickly made her way back to Angel. He rested uneasily in the bed. She could hear him groaning...
Cordelia came out of the room after checking on both Doyle and Angel. Since Angel had a spare room, Cordelia had put him there instead of moving him.
"How did it go?" Cordelia queried.
Buffy gave her a happy, but determined look. "Apparently this will work, but it will also do a lot of good."
Cordelia gave her a confused grin, "Good! That's great! But what exactly is your plan?"
Buffy indicated for Cordelia to follow her, "Come on..." The two women went into Angel's bedroom, where Buffy had left her bag. She knelt down beside it and pulled out a container of gooey green liquid.
"Eww...!" Cordelia screwed up her face.
Buffy held the jar up, before her eyes, and turned it in her hands. "It may look gross, Cordy, but this is going to save Angel..."
Cordelia brightened to that statement. Angel and Doyle were her best friends. She didn't want to lose one of them.

Someone was shaking him.
"Angel? Angel, honey, wake up!" He recognized it as Buffy's voice.
Angel opened his eyes, and immediately wished that he'd died right there. He ached all over...
"Hmm, Buffy?"
"Yeah, it's me." She whispered. "I need to ask you something, Angel."
"Wha...?" he couldn't even finish that one word.
"If you had to, would you rather, die now, become a vampire again, or live the rest of your life with me...?"
"...live...you...but can't...protect..." he managed to say.
"But if you could protect me...?" came her melodious voice.
"Stay...you..." then the world turned black...

Buffy turned to Cordelia. "You're my witness. You heard him, right?"
Cordelia smiled. She agreed with what Buffy was going to do. Angel was going to be really happy! And he wasn't a soulridden vampire anymore, either! So the whole curse thing wouldn't matter and he wouldn't go...Grrr!
"Yep! Let's do it!"
Buffy pulled out a packaged disposable needle she had swiped from a downtown medical clinic. She filled it with the demon's blood and injected it into Angel's vein.
She then destroyed the needle in case someone found it and decided to use it. Then she took out a second needle, but this time, she injected herself with the demon's blood...

Cordelia looked at her expectantly, "Well?!?!"
Buffy frowned, "I dunno...I don't feel any different...but am I supposed to?"
Cordelia went and got a thick piece of board and placed in on two chairs. She pointed to it. "There. Break that."
Buffy glared at her, "Cordelia! I could do that anyway! Slayerness, remember?"
Cordelia rolled her eyes. "You can see if it did you any harm!"
Buffy shrugged and tried to break the wood. She did so...easily. "There. You happy now?"
"Buffy? What are you doing?"
Both Buffy and Cordelia spun around looking guilty as Hell.
"Angel You're awake!" Cordelia exclaimed.
"How do you feel?" Buffy had to know.
"I feel fine. Why do I feel fine...?" Angel was confused. "How long was I out?"
"You've been out for about two hours..." Cordelia answered his second question.
Buffy still looked guilty...
Angel stared hard at her, "And the other?"
Doyle's voice came from the doorway...
"Because you're immortal..."
*~*~*~*
The four of them sat around the kitchen table, discussing the day's events.
Buffy monopolized the bulk of the conversation. When she was done, Angel commented, "So, let me get this straight, both you and I are immortal, because you had a prophetic dream and you went to see the Oracles...Is that right?"
Cordelia opened her mouth to interrupt.
Angel held up his hand, "No. I want to hear it from Buffy."
Buffy shrugged, "Basically. But I asked you about what you wanted and you said that you wanted to stay with me..."
Angel suddenly smiled. "Did you really think that I'd say no?"
Doyle chuckled, grabbing Cordelia's hand and leaving Buffy and Angel alone.
Buffy stared, slack-jawed, at Angel. "You were just having me on!"
He smiled sheepishly, "Yeah. So where do you want to go from here?"
Buffy quickly got over her shock, standing up and crawling into Angel's lap. She met his gaze, eye to eye, barely an inch apart. She wrapped her arms around his neck and suggested...
"Well, we're a young person and an extremely old person, who love each other very much with an infinite number of years ahead of us to explore life...what do you think we should do...?" her eyes twinkled mischievously.
Angel smiled, "Maybe we should..." he kissed her gently.
Buffy agreed, "Yeah, we really should..." she kissed him back.
"But you have to go back to school in a day or so..." Angel reasoned with a straight face.
"I have many years ahead of me that I can use to learn..." Buffy argued.
Angel suggested, "Maybe you should finish school now, while you're still legally eighteen and alive..."
"Angel!?!?"
