Angel was Buffy’s first love and most importantly a vampire with feelings. Angel was born Liam in 1727, at the age of 27 he had become overly fond of alcohol and women, this would be his downfall. He met Darla and she promised him the world, this deadly meeting resulted in the introduction of the evil and deadly Angelus.
For many generations Angelus and Darla wreaked havoc, killing mercilessly, torturing the weak, they had an unattainable thirst for blood, death and destruction. However Angelus was to come to an end when he killed the daughter of a gypsy family who cursed him with a soul condemned him to a life of regret and remorse, the only way to break the curse was if he were to experience one moment of true happiness.
Over time Angel, a shadow of his former self, came across the demon Whistler who persuaded Angel to fight against evil and help the Slayer who at that time was Buffy. They became friends and eventually lovers, his moment of happiness occurred and Angelus returned once again, he caused Buffy much pain and torment, tortured Giles and killed Jenny Calendar. Buffy was eventually reunited with her lover but it was too late she found she had to kill Angel in a last ditch attempt to undo all the evil that Angelus had unleashed upon Sunnydale.
After being unexpectedly released from the depths of hell Angel knew it was his time to go and after helping Buffy to defeat the Mayor, he left the love of his life to move to Los Angeles. Here he set up a Private Investigation firm known as “Angel Investigations”.
During his time in L.A Angel had a son Connor with his old lover Darla, fell for Cordelia, lost his friend Doyle and took over Wolfram & Hart. Who says this guy hasn’t lived a full and prosperous life?
