End of Days
**Kris blearily looks up at the assembled group from the depths of her comfy
chair, and reaches for the keyboard.**
This isn't the normal format this week, gang... I've been putting in insane
hours the last 10 days (who knew that I could still go for 40 hours without
sleeping?), and I just didn't have the energy to take notes while I watched
this week's ep.
Overall, you could tell that this was a definite set up for next week. The
whole Andrew/Anya hospital scene made me nervous - people having fun at this
point have a big honkin' bullseye on their forehead to get killed off - but
it wasn't too bad.
Until the last scene.
ARGH!
Oh, the Spuffy fan in me just had her heart ripped out watching the whole
Buffy-Angel smoochie fest... but here's the thing:
I think Buffy isn't *in love* with Angel.
She may love him... but she's not *in love* with him. And considering that
he's got his own show, and that we've already seen him mention (more than
once) that he loves Cordy... I'm thinking that this is a "I haven't seen you
in so long" automatic reaction...
But that's the Spuffy in me.
So there.
Loved that Willow is still iffy on whether she trusts herself to use her
powers... the Faith & Buffy interaction was pretty good... and seeing Buffy
clock Caleb a good one was great.
The Spuffy scenes - <happy sigh>
But hands down, my favorite quote:
Caleb, making the fish faced "Oh" when Buffy pulled out the Scythe. 'Nuff
said.
Next week:
The end of an era, but not the end of the Musings. I'll be back
in full form, and you can be sure that I'll give the final episode the
treatment it truly deserves from this particular denizen of the Comfy Chair.
Furry Spike rating this week:
2.5 out of 4 paws. JM stole the scenes he
had, and seeing Vulnerable!Spike was something we haven't seen in quite a
while...
My rating:
7.5 out of 10. Lots of stuff happened, we got the history of
the scythe... but the ending just killed me.
Hugs to all...
Kris
