Nicholas Brendon plays Alexander "Xander" Lavelle Harris on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is always providing the show with a wisecrack of some sort. His character, Xander, is somewhat a looser. Having a vampire slayer as a friend can be good at some times, and yet bad at others. Xander is a guy, who is always there for Buffy, (hey, a slayer has more problems than you think) whether it's breathing life back into her, or just being there for support when her boyfriend started killing all her friends.
After Angel reverted back to his evil side, Xander let it be know how much he hated him. He wasn't even afraid to tell Buffy that she was willing to forget what happened to Ms. Calendar just so she could have her boyfriend back. In Becoming, Xander confessed his love to a comatose Willow only to have her think it was Oz. After all the time of "not liking her in that way," he finally found that he took too long to realize his feelings for her.
Xander, who continues to openly express his hatred for Angelus, has helped made everyone's senior year very difficult. He finally realized his feelings for Willow, and the two started seeing eachother secretly since they were both seeing other people. Of course, they got caught kissing and Cordelia breaks up with him. The two have been and bad terms since.
His acting career actually started with him as a production assistant on the CBS show, "Dave's World." This work behind the camera led an audition for guest role on the series. He later went on to audition for "Buffy" and he got the gig. He was an evil corn follower in "Children of the Corn III-Urban Harvest." He starred in the LA theater productions of "The Further Adventures of Tom Sawyer" at Theater West, "My Own Private Hollywood" at The Black Hole Theatre, and "Out of Gas on Lovers' Leap," at the Pasadena Playhouse.
After what seemed like forever, Nick is finally getting into a movie career. Over the summer, he's signed to two new movies, Pinata and Psycho Beach Party in which he stars as Starcat. Also, the rumor mill is hinting that Nicholas Brendon is one of the top picks for the role of Spiderman in the new movie for the superhero...but that's just a rumor.
Nicholas Brendon has a rocking chair outside his trailer that he likes to sit in. He is called Nicky by most of the cast. |
