'Cos I wasn't Always Perfect...
Sarah got her first role in 1982 when she was just four years old. She was spotted by an agent in a resturaunt and went on to star in a Burger King Advert. But it didn't go all that smoothly... 'They had to get me a speach coach for the ads, 'cos 'burger' sort of came out 'boogal'. Eventually I could say it but I couldn't manage anything else!'
'Cos I Really Love My Mum...
Sarah and her mum, Rosellen have been totally inseparable ever since Sarah's dad left when she was six. 'Mum drove me round between auditions and acting jobs when I was yonger, as well as insisting that I kept up with my studies.' Her mum even stepped in when Sarah was getting bullied at school for being an actress. 'She's the most amazing woman I've ever met, and probably I'll ever meet in my entire life.'
'Cos I Get Cringe Moments Too...
She might be able to slay any vamp in Sunnydale but even Sarah has her dippy moments. 'One day I forgot to put my dress on! I was driving to the Buffy set in my covertable and noticed lots of people staring at me. I thought nothing of it until I glanced down and realized what I'd done! The writer of the show was waiting for me in front of a trailer. When I told him what I'd done, he dragged me onto the set to show everyone! I've never lived it down.'
'Cos I Slob Out...
She might look dead glam on screen but Sarah says she's 'a baseball hat and overalls girl' at weekends. And what's more, she hates all the unhealthy attitudes to how people look. 'There's so much pressure in society today when it comes to weight and appearence, especially for girls. I think you should have the freedom to be who you are and not subscribe to everyone else's definition of what cool or normal should be.'
'Cos I Appreciate My Boyfriend...
Sarah got engaged to Freddie Prinze Jr at her 24th birthday party. And she knows how lucky she is to have such a Hollywood hottie. 'He's the most romantic man. I get flowers for no reason other than that he's just thinking of me. And Freddie's just as sweet about her. 'If my life was a script I couldn't have written it better- and I get the girl!' He told us.
But I Get Slushy Over Prince Harry...
'I've gotten just the sweetest notes from Prince William and Harry telling me how much they enjoy the show and how they hope we keep on filming from some time to come. I'm extremely flattered to know that they watch Buffy. I hope with the UK opening of Scooby Doo later on this year that we get to meet them!'
'Cos I'm Smart...
'I don't get into all of that star sensation stuff. I just do the best work I can do and hope that people like it. I think of myself as smart before I would ever think of myself as beautiful. It's really annoying 'cos sometimes you meet people and they think 'Look! Another little blond actress!' That's not who I am. I'm reading all the major Greek tragedies again!'
'Cos I'm Well Behaved...
'I don't drink, I don't smoke and I've never done any drugs. I avoid fried food and I've quit coffee. My work provides all the caffein I need. I have remarkably few vices.'
But Most Of All, I'm Sorted.
'I wish that there had been a character like Buffy for me to look up to when I was growing up. She's a terrific role model 'cos she's not the smartest or the prettiest, but she is who she is. It's sweet that people look up to me, but Buffy's the role model, not me. I'm just the actress who plays her. I'm not more Buffy than any other character I've played, I'm just Sarah.' Thank goodness- we'd be worried if Sarah turned out to be a real vamp.
