Slayers In Training

“Into each generation a Slayer is born. One girl in all the world, a Chosen One. One born with the strength and skill to fight the vampires, to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers.” As each slayer is killed, another is chosen from a group of girls who all have the potential to become slayers. Many of these girls are unaware of their potential, but the Watcher's Council attempts to find and prepare as many as possible. They wait and train until they are chosen or become to old to be called.

During season seven, the First Evil and his minions, the Bringers, begin to search out and kill every potential slayer in order to wipe out the slayer line. Buffy becomes aware of the threat posed by the evil, first through dreams and information from her former watcher Giles, who is in contact with a wicca coven in England. They begin to search out those girls remaining with the potential and bring them to Sunnydale so Buffy can protect them and teach them as slayers in training.

Below are images and character descriptions for some of the potential slayers introduced in season seven.


This unknown potential was seen in "Lessons" and killed by the Bringers in Istanbul.	This unknown potential seen in "Beneath You" and was killed by the Bringers in Germany.	Kennedy was one of the first brought by Giles to Sunnydale. She has recently started a relationship with Willow.


Molly is another of the original three potentials brought to Sunnydale by Giles in "Bring On The Night".	Annabelle is the third potential slayer brought by Giles. She runs from the house in fear and is killed.	Rona arrives by bus to Sunnydale in "Showtime". She is saved by Buffy from the Bringers, who attack her


Eve is a potential who never made it safely to Buffy. The First takes her form to cast doubt among other potentials.	Vi is another potential who first appears in "Showtime". She doubts Buffy's ability to protect them all.	Chloe is a potential who the First is able to talk her into hanging herself and then appears in her form.


Amanda is a Sunnydale girl who is discovered in "Potential" when Willow casts a locating spell that targets Dawn.	Chao-Ann is a potential from Asia who doesn't speak any English, which leads to some confusion between her and Giles.
