When Lindsey's alarm clock goes off, he begins his morning routine: shaving, putting on his hand, picking out a tie, and looking longingly at the guitar in his closet. Meanwhile, Cordelia has a vicious vision of a family, and a father stabbing himself in the eye - but she doesn't know where. Gunn, Wesley and Angel start to investigate, trying to find the location. But they return to the office a few hours later, empty-handed. Angel asks Cordelia to look inside again; another look reveals that the man who stabbed himself in the eye had kids, and she can see the name Delancey School on a bookbag.

At Wolfram & Hart, Nathan tells Lindsey that he's made an appointment for him. The appointment is with a doctor for a procedure - he's getting a hand transplant. While Lindsey is undergoing the procedure, a shaman enters the room and waves its hand, speeding the healing process. The next day, when his alarm goes off, he goes through his morning routine again, but with two hands. And when he sees his guitar, he picks it up and plays it.

The next day, Lindsey and Lilah review a case with a client. While they do, Lindsey's new hand, with a mind of its own, writes "kill" over and over again on his legal pad. That night, Lindsey tries to write something other than "kill," but can't. Then he pokes the hand with a letter opener, but feels nothing.

Back at the office, Cordelia has a new vision of the man, still with his eye. He liked it, like it was new. Then Wesley and Gunn arrive with information - they think they've found the man. But when they investigated the house, it had been cleaned from top to bottom. Stuck at a dead end, they have only one place to go - The Caritas.

When they arrive, they see Lindsey, but he's not singing karaoke, he's singing his own song, and playing guitar - and he's pretty good. The Host says he used to come in all the time before someone cut off his hand. Then he tells Angel that he and Lindsey are supposed to work together on this one - the man in Cordelia's vision had a new eye, and Lindsey has a new hand. Lindsey, uninterested in working with Angel, storms out - and Angel picks up Lindsey's glass. He's going to use his fingerprints to find out who originally owned that hand.

Angel's research reveals that the hand came from Bradley Scott, a former Wolfram & Hart employee, who was just released from prison. He met with his parole officer once, then disappeared.

Lindsey's done some research on his own, and pays a visit to a parole officer whose name he found in the W&H computer. But when Lindsey doesn't know the code, the guy pounds him, then puts a gun to his head. Then Angel arrives, and saves him. He also gets the parole officer to say where he took Bradley Scott.

Angel and Lindsey head there. After fighting off the security inside, they find stairs in the floor leading to a basement, where nearly a dozen bodies are cryogenically frozen. It's a place for spare parts, blessed by demon healers, who know how to regenerate flesh. One of the bodies is Bradley Scott's. Lindsey recognizes him - they used to work together. And he's still alive. As Lindsey approaches his cell, Brad says, "Kill me." Lindsey pulls the plug, putting him out of his misery, and Angel releases the bodies that are still alive. Then he fills the room with oxygen. When he throws in a match on his way out, the whole place blows up.

The next day, at a W&H meeting, Lindsey confronts Nathan about his evil hand - he can't control it. Nathan is planning to promote Lindsey, but Lindsey tells Nathan that he would have chosen Lilah - she's got a ton of files on all of them. He's got these evil hand issues, and besides, he's bored with their crap - and he's leaving. When Lindsey exits the room, the meeting minutes are amended, and Lilah is promoted.

Lindsey packs up his things, loads them in his truck, and finds Angel waiting there for him. He just wanted to tell Lindsey that things don't always work out like you think, and say bon voyage - and don't come back. Lindsey says he won't - Angel can have L.A. He adds that to kill Wolfram & Hart, he can't play their game - he's got to make them play his.
