Born as Gordon Shumway, Alf first came to Earth from the planet Melmac in late 1979 after his homeworld exploded in a nuclear war. It was in the early 1980s that he adopted the nickname ALF (which stood for Alien Lifeform), and that soon became his alias to hide on our planet. It wasn't until 1984 that Alf became known to the world, and shortly after his famed debut came a sitcom based around his life which launched in September of 1986. The sitcom stayed mostly accurate to his story, though the character of Jody was said to have been an original creation made by Alf, himself. The sitcom aired for years before it ended in June of 1990, but Alf has still been featured in several advertisements and movies since that time. Today, the Melmacian is best known around HMC as a production consultant who always has his hands involved in helping devise new projects for the crew. He currently resides in Belize with his wife of ten years and three young children. He has a dog named 'Muffin.'

What Buffy Character Are You Most Like and Why?: Caleb. I like to think of myself as a man of the CLOTH. Okay I'm going for cheap laughs, so sue me!

What first turned you on about HMC?: I really fell in love with Hell's Kitchen. I've got a great recipe for Miss Kitty Fantastico cookies I'll be adding soon.

What are you wearing right now?: I don't wear clothing that often, but I've found that sweaters really highlight my eyes.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?: Well, I'll start licking now and let you know as soon as I'm done.

Who's your favorite band?: I'm a big Jimi Hendrix fan but I also admire the Beach Boys.

What's the greatest album ever made?: I'd tell you but I can't remember what my old collections tasted like. It's been a long time since I've tasted albums and my wife won't let me go anywhere near her music box anymore. Go figure.

What's the greatest movie ever made?: The original Batman movie. Adam West was quite the character actor, wasn't he?

What's the greatest Buffy episode ever made?: Miss Kitty Fantastico Goes to Brunch. Or was that me dreaming? I get very hungry when I see that feline walking about.

Do you believe in Magic?: What is this? A survey on mental retardation?

Cheech or Chong?: Chong. He was funnier and more hairy. Hairy and funny is the best combination for any actor. Take my word for it.

Who deserves the blame for Riley? The guy who cancelled my show. And if not him, then Terry Bradshaw. That guy is an ass to work with. An ass, I tell you! An ass!

Madonna changed her name to Esther. If you changed your name, what would it be?: I've already changed my name once. I did it before it was the popular thing to do. Now everyone wants to copy me?

What's your favorite Non-Mutant Enemy TV show?: Do you really have to ask?

Where will you be in 10 years?: I'm going to be starring in yet another television series in 10 years. This time I'm going to make it a one hour drama about my life, starting with my younger years at Melmac and ending with my marriage here on Earth. I feel like the comedic aspect of the sitcom hurt the true torture of my first coming to Earth from Melmac, and I'd love to capture the pure truth of the matter on film. And by the way, it took me just two licks of that tootsie pop before I swallowed it.
