Original broadcast date : October 2, 2001 In the cemetery, a fat vampire is running away from something. Or someone. His pursuers turn out to be the Scoobies, being directed by Willow, standing atop a crypt, helping her friends with telepathy and magic. The BuffyBot tries to stop the vampire, but fails. Giles also tries to, but is cornered by the vampire, who starts choking him. Willow telepathically asks Spike to go help the Watcher, and Spike does before calmly lighting himself a cigarette. As the Scoobies wonder why Spike isn¹t freeing Giles, the vampire catches on fire and turns to dust the work of Spike¹s lighter. At the Summers house, Willow, who now lives there with Tara and Dawn, does some tweaking to the BuffyBot. The next day, the BuffyBot goes to school with Dawn for Parent Day. Although she passes for a very strange young woman, she doesn¹t cause a major scene. Meanwhile at the Magic Box, Giles is preparing his return to England, urged on a bit by Anya, who looks forward to taking over the shop on her own. That night, Spike is babysitting Dawn, while the Scoobies meet at Xander¹s place. After the two of them talk about school, Spike tries to distract her by starting a card game. When Dawn protests that she can take care of herself and that Spike can leave, the vampire slams his hand on the table, shutting her up. He calmly says "No" and deals the cards. It¹s quite clear he¹s intent on making up for not being able to save Buffy, by at least protecting her sister. Meanwhile, the BuffyBot is out hunting vampires, and engaging in battle with one. But she gets hit with a battle, and her motion routines are damaged she tries to go after him but keeps on bumping and bumping on a dumpster, which gives her away to the vampire as what she really is. At Xander¹s place, the gang is discussing the Urn of Osiris Anya found on E-Bay. Willow announces that the plan to bring Buffy back is for the next night. She stresses that Giles, Spike and Dawn have to be kept in the dark about their plans. Xander then questions the wisdom of bringing Buffy back, but Willow reminds him that they made her the leader, and goes on to say, with much emotional intensity, that Buffy could be suffering in some Hell dimension, and that she, Willow, will ensure that her friend be saved from torment. Returning home, Willow finds out about the BuffyBot¹s problems. As she sits down and starts repairing the bot, it flirts with Spike, unnerving him into impatiently asking Willow to fix it once and for all. After working on the bot a bit, Willow places it on recharge, in Buffy¹s bed. During the night, a lonely Dawn gets up and goes in her sister¹s room, to curl up against the BuffyBot¹s comforting and familiar shape. The next day, Giles trains with the BuffyBot, which seems to make him depressed. As he muses out loud about his reasons for remaining in Sunnydale, now that Buffy is dead, the BuffyBot candidly answers that indeed, if the reason for him staying here was Buffy, he should leave now that she¹s gone. Out of town, in a run-down bar belonging to a band of demon bikers, the vampire who fought with the BuffyBot is telling his story to Razor, the leader of the group. After dusting the vampire, Razor decides that without a Slayer, Sunnydale is his for the taking. The demon bikers set off for the town on their motocycles. Meanwhile, in the woods, Willow is sitting on the grass, wearing a quite unusual white dress, performing a ritual. She recites a spell, and a baby deer approaches her. She pets it a bit, then violently slits its throat and gathers its blood. At the Magic Box, the Gang is wondering where Giles is, when Willow enters with the blood claiming she bought it on the black market. Xander finds a note from Giles, saying that he¹s left discreetly, not one for big goodbyes. Cut to the airport, where the Watcher is pensively waiting for his airplane. The gang shows up, with balloons and presents, and they give Giles a tearful sendoff. Then, outside the airport, they watch the airplane take off, and head back to the Summers house to finalize their plansŠ At the cemetery, Willow, Xander, Anya and Tara sit around Buffy¹s grave, each of them holding a candle. Willow warns them that she may be tested during the spell, and instructs them not to intervene, no matter what happens. Then applies blood markings on her face and begins chanting an incantation to Osiris, asking for Buffy, the Warrior of the people, to be allowed to cross over. Suddenly, her arms are slashed by an invisible hand. She tries to continue with the incantation, but she doubles over in pain and starts gagging. A snake wriggles out from her mouth, then goes back in. Xander is freaked out, but Tara insists they don¹t interrupt. Meanwhile, at the Summers home, Spike is once again babysitting Dawn, when motorcycles start rumbling past. Spike watches, alarmed, from the window, as they starting shattering windows and setting fire to houses and cars. Elsewhere, the BuffyBot tries to stop them, but Razor slashes her skin, revealing the mechanics beneath. She runs away, and they chase after her, laughing. She unknowingly leads them to the cemetery, where the action is still going on. The BuffyBot interrupts the ritual ("Willow! I need service!"), before the bikers permanently put an end to it by rolling over the Urn of Osiris, breaking it. One of the bikers almost succeeds in kidnapping Anya, but Tara shoots a bolt of magic at him and Anya falls off the motorcycle, safe. The Scoobies run and hide from the bikers, Xander hefting a weakened Willow. When she asks if the ritual worked, he breaks the bad news to herŠ Back at Buffy¹s grave, the camera descends into the earth, to a decaying corpse with familiar blonde hair. A green energy swirls around it, and suddenly its eyes snap open, the features morphing back into the confused, panting and terrified face of Buffy SummersŠ
