Him: The Rant

- If any episode opitimizes the "back to the beginning" feel that Joss wanted, it's "Him". It was corny, low-brow, and kind of silly.

- The first 30 minutes of "Him" was irritating. It felt like a mess. And I don't seem to recall laughing in that time period. Maybe...I don't know. I guess I'll remember once re-watching it. The last 30, well, I got more interested and it became more fun.

- Buffy ontop of that teenager was supposed to be the funny version of Connor/Cordy. I wasn't really laughing. Although the times when Buffy was trying to defending her age were hillarious. She's right, it's not like she's 30 or anything. Who knows, both actors could be the same age. All I know is that "R.J" is 17, and "Buffy" is 21...and a counselor. Maybe if the counselor bit wasn't in there I wouldn't have a problem.

- The Charlie's Angels sequence cracked me up. As soon as the 70's style theme kicked in I was on the floor. I'd like to know who came up with that idea.

- Spike and Buffy fighting outside Principal Wood's office. It was the ol' "What was that noise? Oh, probably nothing." comedic gem. Can't go wrong with that.

- Xander and Spike living together. Some people think they know what I'm going to do...flip out. Well, you'd be wrong. I think it could make for some really great moments. Think of the past and how many Nick and James stand-out comedy scenes there have been. Quite a bit in my book. So I'm all for it. I love the two characters and they're already making me laugh (the whole "plan" to get the jacket off of R.J...ha!).

- Isn't it a little early to forgive Anya? That seems rushed. "You tried to kill me, and attempted to kill a dozen college guys. All is forgiven!"

- Boy, when Dawn gets a spell put on her, she reverts back to the whinemeister. I was about ready to load up the rather quiet "House of Whine" and start typing again. And yes, the dance at the bronze... well let's just say, Xander and Willow weren't the only ones panting. ;) Dirty...must clean, must clean.

Final Verdict: Like I said before, I wasn't very impressed with the first half hour. The second made it more enjoyable, and there were a few funny moments, but nothing stand-alone. It was off and on, warm and cold.

Rant Over.
