04.03.03 - Ouch. 10 centimeters my ass. -- Inside Out: The Rant Warning: Spoilerish to the amount of 10. Gina Torres popping out of Cordelia has got to be tabloid material. Ok, I have to start with the Darla/Connor scene. Is it just me or did that feel like Luke/Vader in 'Return of the Jedi'? "There is good in you. I feel it." Isn't that almost word for word? Man, I love Darla. Why they never made Julie Benz a part of the cast I'll never know. And may I add, she was absolutely gorgeous in last night's episode. This was mostly a "frustrated and annoyed at Connor" episode. We've had a couple of those this season, but this one was REALLY over-the-top annoying. By the 45 minute-mark I wanted to jump through the TV and smack the boy all over the place screaming, "WAKE UP, YOU FRIGGIN MONKEY!" Are they trying to say that all teenage boys can be so whipped that not even the fact that their girlfriend's obvious evil-ness is going to wake them up from the "trance down under"? That could be the longest sentence I've ever produced. I have to admit it -- I'm going to have to go back and watch Skip's speech about all the events that led up to this, because quite honestly, that's a lot of made "clear" in 5 minutes. As a matter of fact, it seemed thought up at the last second. I guess that's what makes episodic TV, episodic TV. You can make the course of events to suit the storyline. I missed Skip. But I always say, "Never trust a demon to be good...cause, hey....it's a demon." Wesley must be one HELL of a shot. So is Gina Torres like an anti-christ? That's what the previews for next week's episode look like. Final Verdict: I'm not entirely sure about the reasoning behind what's going on, nor if I love it. But I do know that it's INTERESTING. Which is something I can't be 100% sure about with The First Evil on the other show, because it fluxuates from interesting to boring. AtS has been interesting and pretty fun to watch over the last few episodes...really since "Spin the Bottle". This episode was all about storyline, and advancing the story arc. I usually love those episodes, I liked this one. Love -- totally unsure about it right now. Rating: 3 STAKES Rant Over. - Mac |
