03.14.03 - Unholy Manly Voice-Overs, Batman! -- Release: The Rant Warning: Spoilerish to the amount of 10. - I think the Faith shower scene may have been sexier had she not been spurting blood everywhere. Just a viewpoint there, folks. - And who's going to pay for that tile? Wesley, that's who. Meanwhile, he's lucky if he's got two nickels in the bank thanks to being in the hospital for about 4 episodes in Season 3. You think Angel Investigations has medical? I think not. - So Connor's part demon? I AM...SHOCKED. Wouldn't surprise me if his race was called, "BadCastAdditionoids". - I purchased that talismen from the Sears jewelry section, so I was in on Angel's bluff. $19.95 plus tax. - The Voice-Over was disturbing, and yet, not evil-sounding at the same time. It was almost like a regular guy voice, instead of a "I want to destroy the world" one. I mean, Cordy sounded like the local weatherman more than anything. I was wondering if she was going to tell me if the rain was going to slow down, with some percipitation in the morning. - Wes is bad. He's like Superfly without the crack. - Faith's probably wondering why she agreed to flee from the pokie by now. All she's done since she's been out is get her ass kicked. - Final Verdict: I didn't love this episode as much as last weeks, but it moved the story forward and had a lot of great character development in it. Notice I didn't mention Gunn and Fred's convo, mainly because I don't give two craps about it. But other than the usual shit stains of L.A (Connor and Cordy still being creepy, and the lack of Lorne...except to get a dart in the chest), I enjoyed "Release". - Rating: 3 STAKES Rant Over. - Mac |
