Get it Done: The Rant

Warning: Spoilerish to the amount of 10.

It's good to know that in times of trouble, the self-promclaimed "power" of the group will turn into Diana Ross and cop a 'tude that would make HER blush.

- Buffy's speech wasn't inspiring. I read on the boards where many people said "way to go", "she needed to say it". The problem isn't what she said, but how she said it. I can understand yelling at the potentials, but her friends have heard enough "superior buffy" lip in their day. I don't think they "need it" to get prepared. Lest we not forget the "chosen one and her friends" shit that did nothing in Season 4 but tick them off.

- Kennedy's role has been blurred. At first she was new, interesting, and a little different. And now she's irritating and out of line. I find it uncomfortable that she finds it so easy to talk down to Buffy and question her abilities when she's only dusted (to everyone's understanding) one friggin' vampire (with 3 other girls!). If anyone should stand up to Buffy, it should be Xander, Willow, Spike or Dawn and no one else. Especially not some potential. Just because she and Willow are dating doesn't give her the right to think she's Tara (and I'm not even a kitten).

- I hate Doug Petrie's version of some of these characters. His writing for Xander is almost as doofy as Marti's version. Spike is also written a lot softer. Where's Jane when you need her?

- So Buffy didn't take the demon powers. That may or may not come back to bite her in the end. Something tells me it won't be the last time that encounter will be mentioned.

- Andrew is absolutely endearing. He's really been the most redeemable character this season, and HE KILLED HIS BEST FRIEND. That kind of tells you something. Loved the blackboard.

- Robin Wood is still interesting to me. The moral high ground may get unbearable after awhile though. We already have Buffy being Ms. Superior, we don't need a "Mr. and Ms. Superior 2003".

- Buffy needs to make up her mind about Spike. Does she want the souled Spike, or does she want the evil Spike? It's getting to the point where I'm finally defending the guy, and that doesn't bode well for our heroine.

- The Million Ubervamp March was a bit much, but I like 'em more than most people.

Final Verdict: There was a lot to get pissed about in "Get It Done". But when it was all said and done, I found the episode as a whole compelling. I'm tired of Kennedy, I'm tired of Buffy's attitude towards her friends, and I'm a little fed up with the amount of army-esque scenes there have been this season, but overall it was needed for the story arc.

Rating: 3 STAKES

Rant Over.
