wesley is busy translating the crucial word of a prophecy which tells of angel's future when they get a visit from mr. nabbit including cape.  he talks for a while about how exciting their lifes are and how important and then leaves.  wesley finally realises that the word he's trying to translater 'shanshu' means that angel will die - but angel doesn't seem bothered.  meanwhile somes monks bring a not to nice warrior from the underworld into this world who later meets with the walfram and hart lawyers where he discovers angel has the prophecy that he needs in order to do 'the raising' which will bring angel to them.
at the office wesley talks about how angel doesn't want anything from life which means he is cut off and he doesn't care if he dies.  cordelia then decides she will get angel to want things and the pair go off to talk to him.  cordelia tells angel she's going to help him and wesley suggests that he goes sees the oracles will he goes out and gets some more books to do with the prophecy.
  
 
vocah (warrior guy) goes to see the oracles and kills them both.  he is to take away all those close to angel.  while out shopping for something for angel, cordelia is touched by vocah and goes into a constant vision which lands her in hospital.  angel gets a call and rushes off to see her, unaware that vocah is in his appartment and has stolen back the prophecy.  wesley later enters the appartment when it blows up.  luckily, angel is outside and goes in to rescue him.  now wesley is in hospital.  kate tries to stop angel leaving the scene but a few strong words (very deserved) get him away.  he goes to see cordelia and promises he'll make things right when he notices a symbol on her hand.   he then finds the oracles dead but the spirit of the lasy oracle tells him about vocah and what he must do.  he follows the walfram and hart lawyers to the rasing where he bursts in and fights with vocah and then kills him.  however, lindsey carries on the rasing and completes it.  in the end, just he and angel remain.  lindsey is threatening to burn he prophecies that will cure cordelia but angel cuts lindsey's hand off.  at the hospital, wesley reads from the prophecy's and cures cordelia.  days later he is still researching the thing when he realises that shanshu means angel will live not die once he has redeemed himself as a reward.  the lawyers have brought darla back.
