Buffy Summers is a seemingly normal 16 year old girl. On the surface she looks like any other 16 year old girl with the normal bad hair days and headaches that come with high school. But she has a very special secret. By day she is student, by night she fights the evil that runs rampant in her town. Buffy is the Slayer.

Buffy attended Henry High in Los Angeles. She was a popular cheerleader when she discovered she had grown very strong. A man named Merrik moved to LA and told her about her destiny:

As long as there have been demons, there has been the Slayer. One girl in all the world, a chosen one, born with the strength and skill to fight the vampires and other deadly creatures. To find them where they gather and stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers. When one Slayer dies, the next one is called and trained by the Watcher. Buffy had been called.

At first, she did not want to take on her new slaying duties. She thought Merrik was weird. But he began training her and guiding her. He took her out where she met her first vampires. After that, she began killing them as fast as they came.

On the night of her prom, vampires attacked the gym where the dance was being held. After a battle where she killed many vampires, including a very powerful vampire named Lothos, she burned down the gym, killing the rest of the vampires inside.

Buffy was kicked out of school for delinquent behavior. She decided to retire from the vampire slaying game. She and her mother moved to Sunnydale, a tiny town in California. Buffy started at her new school. The principle was shocked to see why she had been kicked out and told her in his way that she should watch her step.

In her first class, Cordelia, the most popular girl in the school befriended her. But when Buffy saw how she treated Willow, a shy girl, she began to rethink their friendship.

While on a quest for textbooks, Buffy met Giles, the new librarian. It turned out that he was her new watcher. She told him she was retired now so he should leave her alone, but he persisted, telling her that Sunnydale was a center of mystical convergence and something big was going to happen there soon.

It turned out Sunnydale was built on one of the seven mouths of Hell. A very powerful vampire called the Master tried to open the Mouth but instead got caught in it. Soon he would make an attempt to get out called The Harvest. He sent a vessel to get him blood so he could be free. Buffy found out about it and killed the vessel, stopping the Master. She accepted that she couldn’t run from her destiny and began training with Giles again.

Two people, Willow Rosenberg and Xander Harris, found out she was the Slayer. They became great friends. Willow and Xander now fight with her.

Past Flames: Pike: A dark, biker type who she met in LA while fighting vampires. He helped her defeat Lothos. Not sure how the relationship ended.
Ford (a.k.a Billy Fordum): Her "first love" so to speak, or at least her first boyfriend. They went to school together in LA where they dated (I think). The relationship officially ended when she staked him as a vampire after he found out he was dying.
