Synopsis
The Short: On her birthday, Cordelia has a vision that is so powerful it knocks her spirit right out of her body and leaves her in a coma. As the crew of Angel Investigations try to bring her back with no success, Cordelia is visited by her guide Skip, who tells her she was never meant to have the visions. He says even if she got back in her body she will never recover and her next vision will kill her. He offers her the opportunity to change her past so she never met Angel at the party in Los Angeles or started Angel Investigations. Although she doesn't want to leave Angel, it is better than death. Cordelia chooses to take on the life she might have had and ends up a successful actress with a nagging feeling that she should be doing something. She shortly runs across Wesley, Gunn and Angel while investigating glimpses of her last vision, where she learns that Angel is going insane because of the loss of Doyle and the visions he has been receiving.
Cordelia ends up getting the visions from Angel, returning her memories of her past life. Skip then tells her she can't keep the visions as a human, so they agree to turn Cordelia into part demon so she can withstand the visions. Cordelia wakes up back at the Hyperion, where she stuns the crew with her control of the visions, as well as her unexpected ability to levitate.
The Long: After a ''Previously on Angel'' segment (see Continuity #1) we open on Cordelia demonstrating her award acceptance speech to Fred as they clean the floor of the Hyperion lobby. Gunn comes in from cleaning in the other room and asks where Wesley is, who is still out. Angel comes in with baby Connor, and he makes Cordelia clean up before she can hold him. Wesley rushes in looking panicked. In the bathroom Cordelia pops some pills then walks out to find the crew with a cake singing Happy Birthday to her. Angel lets her hold the baby and gives her a present, then the other bring out their presents. Cordelia struggles over opening her presents or holding the baby, but then tells Angel to take the baby as she senses a vision coming. The visions hits and Cordelia sees a teenage girl being attacked by a monster as Cordelia is thrown back into the weapons cabinet, ending up on the floor unconscious. Cordelia wakes up on the floor several feet away from where she fell down,
and notices the others around her motionless body and she thinks she might be dead. (Listen to the teaser here.)

- Skip: ''You may wanna think about that. The only way you get to keep the visions is by becoming, part demon. The process isn't easy. It'll make your vision pain feel like a stroll through Candyland, and even after the pain subsides the effects of the transition will be numerous and unpredictable. You may never be able to lead a human life again.''
Candyland is a childrens board game. All players enter their pawn on the multi-colored track at the start sign on the lower left corner of the board. The cards are placed face down on the playing surface, and each player takes a card and moves their pawn as indicated on the card. Players alternate, moving one after the other, regardless of the position of their pawn on the board. The intent of each player is to arrive at the end of the track before any other players.
