Of Battle Scars and Peroxide (1/1)
by Samantha McCullah
"Ow, Slayer!" Spike muttered as Buffy poured a small amount of peroxide
onto his head. "That bloody hurts."
"Big baby. Its just peroxide," she replied; Spike knew without turning
around that she was laughing at him. "If it hurts that much, I'll stop,
and you can go around for the rest of eternity with your roots showing."
"Just get it done, Slayer," he hissed as she poured more onto his head.
She rubbed the peroxide into his hair, causing another wave of burning
pain to ser through his body.
"There. All done," Buffy exclaimed, setting the peroxide onto the floor.
"About time," Spike murmered, pushing away from her sink. "You enjoyed that,
didn't you? Me bein' in pain?"
"Oh, yeah." She slid into his embrace and stared up at him. "Big, bad Spike
at my mercy. Pity you broke those handcuffs," she muttered, stretching up
and placing her lips on his. Her tongue slid into his mouth as her hands
roamed over his bare back. Buffy finally broke the kiss with a moan. "Go
take a shower, Spike. You smell like bleach."
"And who's fault is that?" he replied with a smile; she just smirked at
him. "Want to join me?" he offered, smirking back. She cocked an
eyebrow before walking out of the bathroom.
Spike chuckled to himself as the door slammed in his face.
________________
When Spike fianlly got out of the bathroom, he found Buffy laying on her
stomach on the bed. She was wearing a pair of his boxer shorts (actually
she was wearing his only pair) and white tank top.
"You look better in those than I do," he commented, indicating the
boxers. She smiled up at him, moving to her knees and motioning him
over to her.
"Spike, can I ask you a question?" she asked, sliding her arms around
his waist and linking her thumbs into the belt loops on his jeans.
"Of course, pet."
"Where did you get this scar?" She took on of her hands from around his
waist and ran her fingers over the scar covering his left eyebrow. He
pushed Buffy back on the bed, leaned over her, kissed her softly on the
forehead, then rolled off her and onto his back. Buffy positioned herself
so that she was sitting on his stomach with her knees on either side
of his chest. "Are you going to answer me?"
"Of course I am. It just embarassing," he replied, running his hand
through her hair. He sighed softly.
"Tell me," Buffy ordered.
"All right. I was ten. I thought I could be a big man like my brother, Adam.
I was wrong. I tried to ride our plow horse. He was huge, at least 20 hands
high. I managed to get on his back, and he threw me. I cut my eye on a rock."
Spike could see she was choking back laughter. He glared up at her, then
noticed the tiny scar on the inside of her elbow. "My turn," he commented,
already smirking. He ran his hand down her shoulder to the crook of her
arm and rubbed the scar with his thumb.
"You just had to find that scar, didn't you?" He contiued smirking and
could see the reluctance in her eyes.
"C'mon, pet. I shared."
"Fine, I broke it cheerleading. I fell off the apex of the pyrimad and had
to have surgery. Happy now?"
"You've faced giant bugs, the Order of Taraka, the Judge, and me, and you
broke your arm cheerleading?" Spike laughed; Buffy retaliated by punching
him none too gently on the arm. His laughter died, and for a moment Buffy
felt the urge to reach for a stake, then she noticed the humor still in
his eyes.
He pulled Buffy's arm over to him and kissed up from her wrist to the scar.
Lightly, he flicked his tongue over the scar tissue, earning a small moan
from
Buffy. His mouth continued up her arm and over her shoulder, his teeth gently
tugging at the strap of her tank top, then his mouth moved over her
collarbone
and his tongue licked the hollow of her throat.
He kissed down her chest, causing gooseflesh to rise at every touch. He stole
a glance upwards and smiled at her passion-filled eyes. He bent his head back
down and captured one of her nipples in his mouth. He bit it gently through
the fabric of her top; she moaned softly, running her hands into his hair
and pulling his head roughly back.
Spike stared into her eyes, before Buffy bent down and captured his mouth
with hers. They let their tongues battle as Spike slowly reclined back
pulling Buffy with him untilt she was pressed against his chest. They
could both feel each other arousal through their clothing.
<God, its been forever. Good thing Mom's out of town,> Buffy thought as
she ran her hands over Spike's chest. They both realized that neither
would be able to stop now. Then they heard it.
"Buffy!" came the muffled shout followed by the sound of footsteps coming
up the stairs.
"God, Xander," Buffy muttered.
"Bloody hell!" Spike hissed. She tried to push herself off Spike's chest
but suddennly found herself pinned by his arms. She stared at him her
confusion eveident on her face. "We're gonna teach that boy to call before
barging in," Spike smiled. Buffy glared at him, not happy with his plan.
"Hey, Buff--," Xander began, pushing the door open. Then his eyes got
wide as he took in the sight of Buffy laying on Spike's chest, Spike's
*bare* chest, wearing only a tank top and boxer shorts. "Oh, God," he
muttered dropping the fruit basket he was carrying before hurrying
out of the room.
Spike and Buffy listened as he rushed down the stairs and slammed the
front door behind him. Buffy glanced down at Spike, who lessened his
hold on her, then glanced at the open door. She sighed heavily, pushing
herself off him.
"Oh, look, he left fruit on the floor. How thoughtful," Spike commented.
"That was not nice, Spike."
"Not nice, Slayer, but funny. Did you see the look on his face?" he laughed.
Buffy couldn't help herself, and she joined in the laughter. She bent down
and picked up the card that went with the fruit. She opened, slowly, still
laughing, and Spike walked up behind her and read over her shoulder.
"Oh, it's from Cordy! Xander must have told her I was back," Buffy exclaimed.
"'The finest imported fruit from Europe.' Well that's Cordy for you."
"Why would she send fruit?"
"Its inexpensive, so she wouldn't waste money she could spend buying
shoes," Buffy laughed. Then her smile drained as she thought of Xander.
"What am I gonna tell him?"
"The truth?" Spike offered, kissing her shoulder blade.
"Oh, yeah, and just watch me turn a delightful shade of pink. I
don't think so." Gently Spike picked her up in his arms and carried
her over to the bed. "Wait, Spike, I need to think of a cover story."
"Later," he murmered, setting her down on the bed, then pushing her
against the headboard with the force of his kiss.
<Hell,> Buffy thought, <I'll apologize tomorrow.>
